  • Hi There I have not tried this myself, and don't have much experience with Ultimate SEO unfortunately... although I think it would be much better to get a developer to just custom code the /product/ removal feature. I'm going to assume the two SEO plugins could cause conflicts ... unless you're super diligent and know in great detail what you're doing. You'd want to review all possible settings ... titles/descriptions, indexation, canonicals, rel prev/next, social meta tags - there could be a lot going on under the hood which could cause issues in the future.

  • Hi, For these type of questions - I fear you will only get very generic answers. Good starting points would be to study: https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo https://moz.com/blog/how-to-rank & implement what is listed there. Other useful resources are listed here: https://moz.com/academy In general, put yourself in the mind of your target audience: what are they looking for what is the information they need how can your content / product help them in fulfilling that need Check the competition: who are your competitors - what are they doing? How can you improve what they are doing? If you encounter specific questions or issues you can post them here - the more specific the question is the better the answer (in general) Good luck, Dirk

  • Yes, having social bookmarking as your only strategy will not yield great results (probably just waste your time) but doing it as part of a larger promotional strategy helps you get a boost in rankings + is viewed by member of those bookmark sites. You get found by more people quicker which helps the promotion > engagement > rankings cycle start. (e.g. if you rank page 1 for one of your services, you are more likely to be found and link to/talked about.

  • Hi Kenneth, I am sure somebody maybe to do a full analysis but just quickly stopping by the page here are a few things I picked up on right away. A ton of links on your page (300+) Your unique content is below all the links (moving unique content to be read first is a good idea) Competing content if you search Fightstore + boxing gloves your home page is actually Google's preferred result (fight gloves vs boxing gloves also competing) You're competing against huge retailers You have duplicate content. Using Siteliner I did a quick scan for you.. here are the results they are reporting: http://www.siteliner.com/www.fightstorepro.com?siteliner=site-dashboard&siteliner-sort=scan_time&siteliner-from=1&siteliner-message= Hope it helps you in the right direction, Don

  • Jamie, You should update your sitelinks with Google at least once a month. They know when you've re updated it. A date inside the document shouldn't make a difference. Thanks, - Mike Bean

  • Hi Martin, This should not have an impact. Google is focussed on providing the best user experience, providing relevant content to its visitors, adapted to the device they are using & served in an efficient way (performance). How you organise your technical architecture behind it should have no importance. You would certainly not be the first to have a website running on different servers for different parts of the site. Typical example is a shop using Magento or some other e-commerce application on 1 host, and a blog on Wordpress on another host. That said - there are still some points you need to take into consideration: 1. Server location - while probably not as important as it's used to - it's probably better to keep the location closer to your main audience (mainly because it can have an impact on performance. Quote from http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com.es/2010/03/working-with-multi-regional-websites.html on location as ranking factor Server location (through the IP address of the server) is frequently near your users. However, some websites use distributed content delivery networks (CDNs) or are hosted in a country with better webserver infrastructure, so we try not to rely on the server location alone. If both servers are in the same location it should not be a problem. 2. You might consider to shift the subdomain to a directory as Google seem to prefer all content on one subdomain. You might want to check this WBF on subdomains vs directories: https://moz.com/blog/subdomains-vs-subfolders-rel-canonical-vs-301-how-to-structure-links-optimally-for-seo-whiteboard-friday Even when using a directory - it is still possible to use two different servers. Hope this helps, Dirk

  • Making phone rings - is the goal most clients want from SEO. Here are the SEO related steps I take to ensure the most calls, and the ability to track them back to SEO and website efforts: Add Phone Number in Top Right Header of All websites Setup a Dedicated 'Conversion' Landing page with a big call to action and phone number. The phone number should be setup using a call tracking service like  https://calltrackingmetrics.com/ (that one's my favorite $5/number per month) Run a Google Adwords campaign to the landing page above Report to Client OR your internal business team the result each month. Tweak and tune to get better results. Those are the main steps I do for each of my client accounts to get the phone ringing, and make sure it's tracable back to the SEO/online marketing efforts. The end goal of course is to show clients that an increased investment in SEO leads to more calls! Than everyone wins Hope that helps
