One of my competitor's has changed their domain URL. I want to update this in the Moz campaign settings but I get a warning that all historical data will be lost if I do.

Is that really true? I replaced one of my competitors with another for a week and didn't seem to lose historical data.

Incidentally, could this be a feature request to allow more competitors to be tracked?

        hello Justin,

Last time, when you changed one of your competitors with another for a week,... did you get the same warning? what exactly are you doing?

        Luis

I did get the same warning.

I want to track the competitor at their new domain. But I don't want to lose my historical data for that competitor.

            Hi There,

I hope that everyone is having an excellent day! Although, it pains my heart to say unfortunately when a competitor is changed or deleted in Moz Analytics we will no longer retain historical data.

Your best bet in this case would be to create a new campaign to track the updated competitor and just have them run side by side until you are comfortable deprecating one for the other. 😞 Although we recognize that this is not ideal for many of our awesome mozzers until we come up with a more comprehensive solution this may be the best recourse.

Also, I will be sure to let our product team now about the desire to increase the number of competitors at the our next super awesome justice league meeting.

Let me know if this helps and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

            Have a spectacular day!

Boo. I am begrudgingly marking this question as answered.

Thank you for passing on the feature request, though.
