  • Understand what you mean - to be very honest I don't think that this content snippet is generating duplicate content. However, I don't really understand the mechanism: https://www.zenory.com/horoscopes/taurus/day -> I would expect to find the daily horoscope for Taurus - when I click on Capricorn I would expect to go to https://www.zenory.com/horoscopes/capricorn/day - however I remain on the same page & the horoscope is shown in a lightbox. I would rather put it on a separate page (if all horoscopes of all signs are present in the HTML of one sign these pages become quite similar when you look at the source code.  Sounds a bit confusing, but I hope you get what I mean. rgds, Dirk

  • Like Patrick said, schema is still important in general.  However, since video snippets for private sites (all but YouTube, Vimeo, etc) died a while back, it might not be worth your while to pursue implementing this markup.  I might focus my efforts elsewhere (beefing up content, building quality links, etc) in order to get the best results from my work.

  • Hi Varun, It sounds like you've identified some important things to work on. I want to be sure I'm understanding this explanation from you: "Client deals in two way that is local and global. He gets requirement of manpower from Local employers and then search for right people around the globe to employee them with organizations" Does the business meet face-to-face with its customers at a place of business? Or are all transactions happening virtually, such as on-line or over the phone?

  • Hi there Immediately, I would check your Webmaster Tools and see if you have a Manual Action of any kind. If you do have a manual action - read through the Ultimate Guide to Google Penalty Removal. It seems like you are taking care of your On-Site SEO pretty well. I would also make sure you are using canonical tags on product and category pages properly. I would also start benchmarking your sites as they currently stand and tracking progress as you go through implementations and changes to your site. Take a look at this competitive analysis resource from Moz, not to copycat, but to instead utilize for your own unique website and audience. Make sure your mobile SEO is the best it can be. Also, make sure you are taking advantage of Schema.org as it can potentially help your website improve in rankings - here is Google's Testing Tool to see if your web development team implemented it correctly. Take a look at Enhanced Ecommerce to see what products are giving you the best traffic and conversion rates. From there, you can structure your site in ways based on audience behavior and implement that behavior into your marketing strategy. And lastly - start tracking your keywords in Moz and Webmaster Tools so you can see where you have opportunities and where you can improve. Hope this all helps! Let me know if you have any more questions or comments! Good luck!

  • Hi Rosemary Yes! You should be just fine. According to Google: If your business moves from one location to another and keeps the same business name, Google will generally move the reviews to the new location. There are some exceptions for businesses heavily tied to their locations, like hotels, golf courses or scenic attractions. You can read more at Moving Reviews Across Google+ Pages. If you have any other questions let me know! Good luck!

  • What if you take two existing sites, and merge them into the same magento install for example.  But do what you suggest and have both sites run different product names, descriptions etc.  So from the front end the user would know no different, but searching records you would see the two sites run on the same server, under the same install of magento?

  • If I was in your shoes, even though your canonicals are working (great step #1), I'd be inclined to clean up the URLs are much as possible and 301 any duplicate pages that you can get approval for. You'll always want to have your canonicals coded in regardless. But having less actually pages will save you in other areas - content audits, Google bot and other bots crawl time, space on your server, confusion for customers, etc. Less can be more in this case.

  • Hi Mark. Thanks so much for taking the time to look into this and helping me find a solution. It does seem odd that a message board (of any kind) would rank ahead of the actual company but who am I to question Google (sarcasm)? If you take a look at the first image I attached, I still think the drop from hundreds of impressions to basically 0 in a few short period of time indicates some sort of radical shift in how I have been indexed. I'm not sure if it is Google or my site...or both. But I DO know that something is "going on" and I need to figure it out. You mentioned the caching issue and I'm wondering if it has something to do with the mobile usability update. Whatever it is, the end result is almost a 50% drop in organic traffic over the past month. That seems a bit extreme for even an algorithm change. It seems punitive in nature. Alas, I'm not qualified to determine the origin and your guess is FAR better than mine. Thanks so much again Mark. -G
