Crawl Attempt Errors & Homepage Not Ranking
Hello Craig, When I go to http://www.mangofurniture.co.uk I see a Rel Canonical tag referencing this URL version of the page: http://www.mangofurniture.co.uk/home. When I go to http://www.mangofurniture.co.uk/home I am redirected (301) to http://www.mangofurniture.co.uk. This has the effect on Googlebot of being an infinitely looping redirect. The solution is to change the Rel Canonical tag on your home page to be http://www.mangofurniture.co.uk by removing the "/home" directory on the end.

Relevant Link, but Low DA...good idea?
I'd investigate the amount of quality content as opposed to the DA since I have a few sites with DAs lower than 20, especially with the drop that happened before thanksgiving. However, my domains lack backlinks but have more quality content than every single competitor out there in our niche, this in my opinion is google's flaw, using backlinks as the major deciding factor of DA is a big mistake and subjected to much manipulation, such sadness, ( little doge humor ). You never know how active the domain in question is, and if they have the quality content, you could safely land a nice backlink on a site that will become the authority in their niche causing you to also get a boost. Like the above post mentions, SEO hat should come off unless you see some sloppy work that will continue to hold a site back. Or you could use the highlighting of said sloppy work, add some corrections and secure that backlink for years to come at the same time helping that site raise their DA in general. It's time we stop just being focused on ourselves and start lending hands across the net, building backlinks yes, but lasting networks as well. We're all in this together, let's act like it! This community is a great example of what is lacking in the overall web in general. We are the change.

Keywords with different spelling depending on country.
It depends how much time and money you have to devote to this, but here are a few suggestions: Create two subfolders for your site content: /en-gb/ and /en-US/. All your UK-focused content can go in the en-gb folder, and US content in the en-US folder. Use the country-appropriate spellings, and ideally tailor the actual page copy: your two audiences probably use quite different turns of phrase; one marketing message may be more resonant with a US audience than a UK one, etc. Ensure that every page that has both a UK and a US version has hreflang properly implemented. That means that, if we have URLs "www.example.com/en-gb/product-1.html" and "www.example.com/en-US/product-1.html", both talking about the same product, the following two hreflang tags must go on both of those pages: If the majority of your customers are based in the US, or speak US English, you may wish to make that the default language in your hreflang tags. To do so, just change my example above to the following format: All that's changed is that the en-US pages are now hreflang="x-default", which signals to Google that, unless a user has a preference for British English, they should be served the US English content. Do not redirect users from one version of the site to another based on their IP addresses, as this will mean Google cannot crawl the UK version of your site. You might want to do something like Amazon does, where if a UK-based user visits the US version of Amazon, a banner appears at the top of the page to suggest they visit the UK site, and provides a link to amazon.co.uk. That's a good example of suggesting something useful to your users without forcing a redirect.

Error: The URL you entered does not appear to be returning a page successfully
Hi Charley! We ran a few tests on the page in question and it appears that there is some Javascript on this page that is causing trouble for rogerbot, out crawler. The '#.’ portion of the URL is injecting a script. If you remove the everything after the ‘#.' in your URL, you should be able to crawl the page successfully! It’s hard to confirm this without verifying which keyword you’re optimizing the page for, but if you continue to run into problems or have additional questions please write in to us at help@moz.com!

What is your opinion in the use of jquery for a continuous scroll type of page layout?
Hi Michael, thanks for the input. I completely agree with you about content length but perhaps I'm a little confused here. If search engines aren't going to see content hidden by jquery, would that not mean the only content I'm seen to have is what's immediately visible on page load?

My New Pages Are Really Slow to Index Lately - Are Yours Slow Too ?
It is already indexed and I can find it on the second page of the SERPs for my keyword. I had someone else, unrelated to my site, check and they see it there too. I've never needed to do this before, and am surprised by what happened. Thanks again.

Keyword optimization when two keywords mean the same thing
hmm, that's frustrating! The canonicalization idea isn't going to work too well since it essentially passes the strength of one page to the other so you will still only end up with a single page that ranks. Also, it doesn't present a great user experience. If anything, it probably further confuses the fact that they're both the same thing! If you've got offices in multiple locations, you can go with a number of ideas from Rand's Whiteboard Friday on a related topic. If this does apply to you, you could use the most common term for each region. Location pages for Western states would talk about Attorneys and Western states focus on Lawyer. It's far from ideal but if Google isn't understanding the difference here, it's about the best option I can see.

Is this setup of Hreflang xml sitemap correct?
Hi Gianluca, thanks for chiming in! I will look into getting this setup. Should this solve our issue? It seems that currently, the hreflang setup for just the home page isn't working. Google is not showing the US site in Google US or showing the appropriate international site for Google in that specific country. Any other tips? Hreflang setup for HTML will have to be applied for all pages, for all country-language sites, correct? Where does the canonical point to? Lastly, if all of this is setup, do I remove country geo-targeting in Search Console? Thanks!

Hi Dmitrii, Thank you! I totally agree. After writing this question out, I knew it would be just as confusing for bots. The request for change has been submitted to my team.
