Google My Business - bulk location upload vs. single upload
Hi Gal, Yes as far as i remember this is the process. You do not need to be uploading 10 NEW listings to request the bulk verification feature, you just need to have more than 10 locations in total. The bulk verification happens at the account level, not on an individual location level - if that makes sense.

Paid Guest Post Links - Value?
Hi there Ultimately, what you're trying to do is guest blog for SEO, which Google says is a no no. The reason I say this is because, above all, you're mentioning "links"; not the value that your product or viewpoint will bring to a customer. Here is how you should approach link building for your client: Look for citations / listings that are relevant to your clients industry Look for partnerships / certifications that the client may have that could include listings Look for resource / reference opportunities on how-to sites (eHow, Wikihow, Wikipedia - don't abuse this strategy) Use client data to develop case studies or whitepapers Offer authors / writers topics or stories to write that includes your data and a link to that data (keep branded) Look for charity or community sponsorship opportunities Here are some more great ideas from Backlinko. The reason I list these items above, is because while they garner links and quality ones at that, they also offer users great information about your business when and where they are looking for it. You're building links to capture audience attention, not just users. So, while guest blogging isn't a bad thing at all, I think you could stand to put a little more legwork behind it, build some great content, reach out and build relationships, and ultimately build a fantastic brand in the process. Let me know if this helps! Good luck! Patrick

Are images stored in Amazon S3 buckets indexable to your domain?
Hi there Owler is your site yes? If that's the case, you're fine, and this even has SEO benefit hosting on a subdomain. I would definitely make sure you develop a image sitemap and submit to Google and Bing. Before anything, make sure your images are optimized, being as detailed as possible with all of the above. This should definitely help! Let me know if you have any questions or comments - good luck! Patrick

Why am I getting mixed signals about whether my hreflang tags are implemented properly?
Ah, thank you so much! Our developer had a feeling the problem had something to do with the whole http/https thing but couldn't quite figure it out. I'll ask him to make the change you suggested and we should be all set! Thanks again - troubleshooting this was turning out to be really time-consuming, so I finally posted the question here out of desperation.

Can someone help me?
Ah, got it! Your best bet is to choose the sites you compete with most. There are a lot of ways to figure that out, but one reasonably quick way is to search for your most important keywords in an incognito window, and choose 3 sites you'll need to outrank in order to pull ahead on the SERPs. Does that make sense?

Google SERPs displaying Tracking Tags
Oleg is right, you should be using canonical tags in this case. However, keep in mind that you can also tell Google, in Google Search Console, which parameters to ignore. If you're using tracking parameters on a regular basis then you'll want to do that, as well. And you should tell Bing Webmaster Tools, as well, to ignore those parameters. Another option is to list those parameters in your site's robots.txt file so that they're not indexed.

A difficult keyword displays a difficulty of 3, why?
i'm seeing difficulty of 30-40 for cheap phones (depending on country): https://moz.com/explorer/overview?q=cheap+phones (watch the video that pop's up from Moz's chat helper) Check out https://moz.com/help/guides/keyword-explorer for more in depth info on how the scores are calculated. How is the Difficulty score calculated? Keyword Difficulty takes into account the Page Authority (PA) and Domain Authority (DA) scores of the results ranking on the first page of Google for the given query, as well as modifying intelligently for projected click-through-rate of a given page (putting more weight on higher-ranking, more visible pages and less on lower-ranking, less visible pages). The formula also accounts for newer pages on powerful domains that may have DA scores but have not yet been assigned PA values. What is Opportunity score? Opportunity Score is designed to calculate the relative Click-through-Rate (CTR) of the organic web results in any given Google Search Engine Result Page (SERP). Google SERPs that have very few non-traditional ranking features and are more similar to the classic “ten blue links” only model will have very high Opportunity Scores. SERPs that have many features - like images, ads, news results, answer boxes, knowledge graph panels, etc. - will have much lower Opportunity scores. We use an averaged CTR model derived from our anonymized clickstream data to build this useful metric and apply it based on the features we see in Google’s results.

How to handle dynamic product url that changes regularly
Thanks Everett! yes there's definitely seo benefit from having the title in the URL, and I think it's pretty significant - from what I have seen previously when we made a massive url changes for one of the websites I worked on - went from /{id}/ to {id}-{product-title}. Also there is a study shows that display url in search results is still a prominent element to influencing searchers' clicks. This is from 2012 but I think the same still applies today. http://research.microsoft.com/pubs/155941/domainbias.pdf so I'd prefer to have the titles included. It is completely possible to make the very original static, and that would be my preferred option - but we need to assess whether the changes were made because they were "mildly" or "totally" incorrect in the first place, and also at the same time need to convince others - who feel keeping the original urls (when the product titles change) would worsen ux. 301 redirects would be totally mental - so this would not be an option. Also adding canonical tag to the "non-original" urls method - potentially ok in the short term. I think using static (hardcoded) urls would be the only long-term solution.

Page Authority
Hi, Thank you both for your replies. I am working through onsite optimisation as this has been overlooked in the past, but it's a huge task for such a big task and taking up all of my time. We do have schema and I have tried implementing the sitelinks search box but nothing shows in Google - I thought they chose who to show schema for? I'll read the articles Thanks!
