Product Tags
Hello Bernadette, Thank you for the information, I was aware of this and have excluded the pages created by the tags in the robots file. I do believe that makes the pages which the tags create null in the eyes of Google (correct?). Knowing this, what do you make of my original query?

Duplicate content query
Marcus, The duplicate content on each product page runs at about 35%. Would that be considered a reasonable proportion? Thanks.

Subdirectories and Domain Authority
Hi, If you use the hreflang tag correctly to tell search engines that your "/es" sub directory is another language, your domain shouldn't loose any authority. Resources: https://moz.com/learn/seo/hreflang-tag https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077?hl=en

Ranking Sub Categories on Ecommerce Site
It may end up too deep to count as much as the main subpage would. But in that case, you can create CLEAN URLs for it, meaning, you can have the CMS or ecom solution render the data on maindomain.com/standard-metal-lockers instead of maindomain.com/lockers/standard-metal-lockers (I am not 100% if this is how it looks thogh btw, if it is as simple as this, it is not "TOO" deep tbh). and then you want to make sure the clean URL is marked as the primary source of data and the longer CMS based URL should have a rel canonical associated to indicate this. I would even try to de-index that original page from results entirely. Think like amazon, the king of ecommerce: Although they have categories and sub and even sub sub categories for products, the url for end product and categories look more like these https://www.amazon.com/**Arctic-Silver-AS5-3-5G-Thermal-Paste**/dp/B0087X728K/ [notice the keywords are followed immediately after .com/, then everything else is configured], you see how there are no categories listed before that and there are internal categorization and tracking items written after the keywords. this is obviously going to be hard to impossible to achieve with standard CMS out there unless they are super SEO friendly somehow which most CMS and especially ecom CMS are not out of the box. So you may have to do some research to see if you can pull it off that way. But the earlier method I described is what I have been able to succeed with previously. Now lets take another look at what they do: Parent: https://www.amazon.com/**Computers-Tablets**/b/ref=nav_shopall_basedevices?ie=UTF8&node=13896617011&nocache=1479275082032 If you click on tablets, you get: https://www.amazon.com/b/ref=lp_13896617011_ln_2?node=1232597011&ie=UTF8&qid=1479275076 (non keyword optimized URL) BUT IF YOU INSTEAD SEARCHED FOR AMAZON COMPUTER TABLETS, ONE OF THE TOP RESULTS IS THIS, see the difference? sub-cat: https://www.amazon.com/**Tablets/**b?ie=UTF8&node=1232597011 these two are literally the one and same page, but I guarantee you the latter is specifically optimized and indexed for search while the former is how the CMS sees the links.

Does iframe itself count as a backlink?
I would say, iframe src= counts as a backlink. To what extent is transfers the juice I am not sure, but I definitely saw the links inside MOZ backlinks.

Best Use of Landing Pages with Email Campaign?
Here is what I would do if I were you: Keep your email effective, do not combine a crazy amount of properties there, make sure you curate it and send perhaps multiple rounds of emails with different content to different people, if you can narrow down interest in area and type of buildings further. Then make sure each property has a unique landing page that actually has a call to action on it, ensure it is mobile friendly. engagement is one thing, being able to get them to take an action further after getting the details is another. You want to do both and measure both. think psychology of these prospects and match to their building for refining and curating the entire property set for them. Put yourself in their shoes, look at their current locations, look at their current competitors locations, think their brand identities, and try to match them up with the right property and area of town. wholesaling this stuff, economy of scale, do not apply to this method of marketing in so many ways. Targeting does. People do. Knowing the people does. Best of luck!

Using a .es cctld to be relevant to a South American consumer
Generally gTLDs allow you to set a target country in WMT (Okay, I'm old fashioned... Search Console), whereas ccTLDs don't. This tends to mean it's generally harder to target other countries with a ccTLD from another country. Not impossible, perhaps, but harder. .es domains are Espana, of course - not Spanish language, Spain the country. Same with the others. When you use ccTLDs it's generally much harder to rank in other countries, regardless (to some extent) of the language. THAT SAID. I've personally seen several .es domains ranking in Google.mx (set to Mexico as the gl). In fact I just checked now and found a couple of .es domains ranking on page 2 for a moderately competitive term. They didn't have hreflang etc set either. I'm more of a fan of a .com and subfolders (I'd pretty much always go with subfolders over subdomains) with geo-targeting in Search Console (you can target countries per subfolder) and hreflang, such as: ). Also, as you mention marketing support, if you had a gTLD with subfolders, the juice would pass between the different country pages easier than with separate ccTLDs or even subdomains, meaning they'd stand a better chance of ranking without so much country-specific marketing spend, giving you an easier start in new markets due to internal links etc. This is also partly just my own bias though, I fully appreciate that it sounds like you may have brand reasons for preferring separate ccTLDs. I don't think there's a one-language fits all solution as it's not just about language, as with ccTLDs it is generally harder to rank in other countries (not impossible, but harder). As I say, though, I've seen evidence of es domains in google.mx. As regards trying to target the countries but not being confident due to a lack of support in those countries yet... Tricky one! If there's not a huge time difference, if the language is the same for some markets, and being able to offer support is a concern, what about a web-based support solution, such as Intercom? Personally, though, I'm a fan of starting as you mean to go on, or waiting until you're ready to launch fully. I'd be worried about going into a market and ranking there, if I didn't have the support to back up any queries, as it could hurt the brand. That said, I don't know your exact situation, so maybe you have a plan for this.

Am I the only one seeing the Moz's points ranking with mixed rankings?
Yeap, that was my guess too. Even though it's kind of my duty to report these bugs

Curious, have you ever had a client dispute your Moz Ranking Report?
First of all, the more "trustful" source is Search Console. Second, every other platform uses their own ways to detect the rankings. It's completely normal that it varies in different platforms. Third, remember that when making a human search, that search is biased by our cache, history and whether or not is signed with a Google account. You are checking on a 2nd page rankings, that's even more natural to be unstable. At least that's my experience. If you want to check it yourself, try with a proxy or a vpn. Be cautious to not be logged in Google and to use a cache&history free browser. Best luck. GR.

Google overriding meta description - retrospective?
Unfortunately, this does sometimes happen when Google tries to establish what it feels is the best and more relevant description of the page thus overriding your meta description.. You may find it pulls from your opening paragraph or elsewhere. I would suggest looking to st re-indexing your changes - maybe resubmit your site via webmastertools (Google Search Console) )for a recrawl. Also and this may not be the case, but if you have a listinf on Yahoo or the OpenDirectory/DMoz, sometimes content can be pulled in from there to replace your descriptions. Maybe look to add the following meta tag to remove this issue.

What are you using to see SERPs in cities you are not in?
I don't think there is a perfect any longer for this. I do think it is a good tool though. Certainly better than most. I did the same searches in same cities using this tool and the Moz tool that Logan pointed out. I got the same results for several searches so it gives me some comfort on both. I actually think this one is easier than the Moz tool, but with the Moz tool you can set up multiple profiles that are retained for future searches which is a huge plus. Thanks again
