(Australian Business) Ranks 7th Brisbane, but ranks 3rd in Sydney and Melbourne. Why is Brisbane ranking worse, how to fix?
If your product is trampolines, I would think there would be lots of linking opportunities from the schools and organizations that use your product. You might even be able to get a dot edu link from the gymnastics team.

My site lost a lot of traffic in the lastest update - what to do?
Most likely, one of two things happened. A) Either your site got hit by the algorithm and lost rankings..... B) Or..... your competitor was favored by the algorithm, moved up, and you lost rankings. There are other possibilities, unrelated to the Google update, but checking if one of these, and which one of these, hit you is important to understand your next step. If you have a position tracking project running on SEMrush you can add competitors to the project and see who moved up and when. Since Google has not disclosed what this update was based upon, it is hard to know what can be done. It might be based upon how links are valued, how content is valued, user behavior, or something else, or a big mix of things.

How many external links do I need?
In my opinion, 80 to 100 words is really really skimpy. You would gain more by increasing the quality and detail of your post than by changing the number of external links. Google is probably going to put more emphasis on your content and how your visitors respond to it than they will put into evaluating your external links. In addition, I think that you will gain more from Google if you have highly-related, high-quality content on your own site and are linking to that.

Are Side Bar Links Bad For SEO?
Sidebars are fantastic. They are great placed to add photos that are relevant to your content, great places to display ads, great places to promote your best content and great places to promote related content. All of my sites have a sidebar that is right-sized for skyscraper or rectangular ad units.

Is it possible to have organization markup schema for sub domain ? and how should it look like ?
An organization can have multiple brands and websites. If the subdomain is home to a different organization than the root or www. domain you should use the subdomain URL and org name. If it's the same organization, but a different brand, you would use the top level domain and org name. Make sense?

Exportable Bulk PA Analysis for Entire Site?
Hi Kristina, Thanks for the reply, but my question was either poorly worded or misunderstood. I've edited it. I'm not looking for an exportable list of all the backlinks to my site and where they come from. I'm looking for an exportable list of all the pages on my site, with their respective Page Authority (PA). If there was an additional field of data (such as how many backlinks are directed at those pages, that would be a bonus, but not not required).

Is it a good strategy to link older content that was timely at one point to newer content that we would prefer to guide traffic and value to
In theory, what you are planning is not a bad idea, but perhaps you time would be better spent removing "cruft" or underperforming pages. I think those will get you more bang for your SEO buck. How many keywords should I optimize a page for?
How many products and categories do they have? And will these change by season, year, etc.? Will the number of products grow fast or do you see them staying stable for the near future (18 months to 2 years). The reason I ask is that planning for future growth -- or no growth -- can help you determine the best solution. -- Jewel

What is the best SEO tool to check internal linking structure
Screaming Frog can do that—here is more information about it. But maybe you just want to start with the Google Search Console report—you can find out more here. And yes, if you have a lot of internal links pointing to a page on your site, you are telling Google that you think it is an important page.

Keyword Stuffing
I almost didn't go look at that Walmart page because I thought that they were above keyword stuffing for SEO purposes. However, I did go look at was surprised. I my opinion, WalMart has added a few hundred words of total yada yada yada text that is designed for nothing other than search engines. They probably know that humans are not going to read it and they floated it so low on the page that nobody is going to see it. So, without knowing who did this and their intent, my guess is that this text was created for nothing else other than SEO purposes. They want some paragraph text on the page and have done a fine stuffing job on it. Overstuffed in my opinion, but done in a way that search engines are probably not going to be concerned about it because it is in natural language. This stuff might have positive ROI.

Does Google penalise in the way described in this article?
The concept is sound, but their delivery is misleading. Keyword cannibalization is definitely a real thing, you should always avoid targeting the same keyword or topic across multiple pages on the site.

Index an URL without directly linking it?
That's an interesting question. Yes, I don't see why you couldn't rank such a page—I have had some pages accidentally rank in an even less likely situation. (Marketing pages that accidentally got exported into the sitemap.) But even if you make the different color choices canonical to the color choice page, a canonical is a suggestion and if Google decides that people are really, really looking for blue shoes when they do this search, that is the page that will rank. [Is there a reason you can't have the color choice page along with the individual colors? You could strengthen the signals for the choice page by having more links to it.]

Conversion drop after site move
Yes, interesting I did wonder as much. We identified that the menu bar may be at fault, so we A/B tested and noticed a substantial increase in conversions. Unfortunately, we have now put live and conversions of dropped again! There is a slight change in the URL structure, but everything is redirected as far as I can tell. Wondering if it's just Google getting its head around it again.
