Switching subdomains
Since your 301 redirect are years apart it shouldn't cause that much of a problem. I wouldn't make a habit out of it though!

Internationally targetted subdomains and Duplicate content
You should funnel all of your users through the main site and give them the option to switch languages to help avoid having the same content on different pages. It sounds like they want to rank in each country, now to do that, just build links and get them from relevant sites in that country. Although if you are really stuck on staying with the original plan, I would say use the robots.txt file to still block the other language pages. The reason I say that is because the search engines have done filtering to additional language pages, because spammers have actually exploited language barriers in the past for autoblogging. They would translate content from another language, make it sound right and then put it on the blog automatically. That's the main reason for me recommending that you funnel people through the main site and have them translate, which where the translation site would be in a subfolder blocked with the robots.txt file. There are obviously many ways to go about this, some will agree, so won't, this is just my two cents. I hope this helps.

Image Galleries & Leaking Pagerank
Thanks Danny. That would mean though that I would lose traffic from Google images. Can you think of a way to have an image gallery without html links? If I would use Javascript links, Google wouldn't find the big images either....

A domain is ranking for a plural key word in SERPs on page 1 but for the singular not at all?
I am still working on these issue. In the past year we tried allot (onpage and offpage) to rank for the singular Keyword, but without much success. We are still on Page 3.... In the meantime i am quiet convinced that these is an transactional/informative issue. Which factors could Google use to understand weather a search or a website is more transaktional or informative? Apart of mentioning Buy now, Shop, Buy now, Shop Any Ideas?

What Tools Do You Use For SEO Social Media Audits?
Klout is a good tool for Twitter. It will give you the number of mentions, retweets, and their own algorithm of how influential you are, and how far your reach is. You can use it to look up any Twitter profile. They've just added FB and LinkedIn but I haven't tried it so can't tell you about it.

Does Code Order Matter?
Perhaps HTML5 tags are used as one of the signals in determining which piece of source code is what. Seeing how easily one could manipulate these tags, I don't think it'll be a strong signal though. Of course it can be a good guidance for future web developers to identify pieces of source code! Google is able to read CSS files (for example to determine if a link is hidden), but I don't think it will parse these files and apply them to the webpage to determine the visual layout of it. I think it would require a great amount of processing power (and time) to actually render a webpage, rather than sort out the pieces based on the source code like I described in my answer above. Glad I could help!

Preparing a DotNetNuke Active Forums site for SEO push
We've announced the transition, so I can post the URL here. It's http://rcnavalcombat.com/. We're running out of HDD space on the current virtual server, so I'm shopping for a larger package, and will be setting up the new server with the latest in DNN and AF, tweaking things the way I want, and importing the existing site (and rinse and repeat about five times to get bugs worked out I imagine) then going live with the upgrades on the new server.

Pagerank
Pagerank is tracked on a 1-10 system, 10 being the best. However, Pagerank is not the end all of how well a site is trusted or how quality their link popularity is. I have seen sites with pagerank 1 beat sites with pagerank 5. You should use the SEOmoz tool bar, which shows Mozrank, Moztrust, and PageAuthority. Some info on that here; http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/mozrank

Duplicate content?
If you have canonical tags on these pages, don't worry about it. But you might want minimize these pages and/ or redirect them to a primary. The dynamic url "?" may also be making it hard for seomoz to see the canonical tag. I would ask seomoz here: http://www.seomoz.org/about/contact Also SEOmoz checks all pages, whether they are cached by google or not.
