Advice on migrating from .com to .co.uk without dropping in rank?
Beyond Daniel's suggestion, I'd support that with a press release and social campaign to promote the change. This will provide immediate / short-term off-site signals promoting the new domain right away. From there, long term, I'd work on link reclamation - seeing what existing inbound links you can get changed to point to the new domain - those existing links will have more value when you do that, since it's pretty much agreed that 301 redirects leak a bit of their value. And of course, establish a long term plan for new link building to the new domain as well.

Tips on How to Optimize a Forum
Is there any equivalent SEO add-on for phpBB3 that people here have used and liked? A quick search shows quite a few out there, some with extremely complex installation instructions, so it'd be great to learn what you guys out there have found to work.

How does having an SSL impact search optimization?
It depends on whats currently out there and how the page is being redirected. If the page is being 301 redirected from http to https then you may lose link juice if everyone is linking to the http version. For most webmasters, you only need a handful of pages to be https so I would consider that as well if that applies to you (it may not). As Alan mentions, you may run into duplication issues if the web page can be accessed by http and https.Check out this article by Search Engine Journal. http://www.searchenginejournal.com/seo-for-http-and-https/15055/

Yelp.com - How do they do this?
yes, part of it could be dynamic sitemaps, however consider these factors: 1. According to their Moz ranking, Yelp has a Domain Authority of 93/100 - that's a lot of domain authority. 2. They've got over 16 million pages indexed at Google. 3. Of these, about 5 million are search results 4. Google claims to be able to explore forms - their bots are claimed to be able to simulate human behavior in form usage. 5. With about ten million pages indexed that are not yelp search results pages, that's an awful lot of raw data for Google's bots to experiment with in trying out that search for.

Duplicate Content Question
You want them on all pages as I'm sure Google is seeing copies of all your pages. This is really a best practices thing but I add them to all pages when the page is created to avoid just such issues. If you choose the www version you would use this tag for the Career center page: In addition I've added a link to this great post on canonical Hope this helps

What does the "base href" meta tag do? For SEO and webdesign?
<base> allows you to set the default attributes for links on the page. For example if I set <base href="http://www.mydomain.com/"> then I can make a link to and it will point to http://www.mydomain.com/mypage.html I believe this magic happens on the web server before the page is sent to the browser, making it a safe practice for SEO.

Duplicate Page Content Issue
Use the rel="canonical" tag on these pages. That way you can send all the link juice to the version that you'd rather have rank and then also keep both pages for easier usability/navigation issues.

See screenshot: Is this an example of Canonical issue or am I making an error in judgement?
Thanks Alan, I stopped to think because of the canonical tag that everybody now seems to be using for everything everywhere. I like the 301 because I have total control and the operation happens on my server. (I don't have to worry about search engines getting flaky or treating the canonical differently at some date in the future.) So my gut and brain said use the 301... but I was ready for someone to argue for the canonical.

Category Pages with Sub-Categories
I think I have it. Yes, tabs could be the answer... unless this is getting too crazy. So, on the front page I will use an image to say "showroom" and make the alt text = "zero turn mowers". Then, beneath that main category I will also include: edgers, blowers, etc... as if they are sub categories (but in reality it will all be links to the 2nd layer if you know what I'm saying). So, basically I will have a page that is optimized for zero turn mowers with this content: /zero-turn-mowers ZERO TURN MOWERS (h1) TORO ZERO TURN MOWERS (1st tab & h2) Description Toro Zero Turn Homeowner (1st inner tab &h3) Mower 1 Mower 2 etc... Toro Zero Turn Commercial (2nd inner tab & h3) Mower 1 Mower 2 etc... GRAVELY ZERO TURN MOWERS (2nd tab and h2) [same structure as Toro] /edgers [repeat structure for edgers 1 page] Although, it is probably too ambitious to go after "zero turn mowers"... I wonder if this double tab structure is bad on page optimization or excellent as this is going to cause me to have a ton of content on each page.

Metrics from Linkscape - DJ Passed, URL mozRank Passed and funny numbers
You are operating under the assumption of the random surfer model, which weights all links equally. Under the reasonable surfer model, links are weighted based on the likelihood they will get clicked. Therefore, internal links pass a whole lot of that mozRank. There is also no guarantee that all 5.56 mozRank is passed in some form or another. Each link passes a portion of it, but that doesn't mean if you add them all up you will necessarily get 5.56. That's just the most you could get.
