What about the technical, is your site optimized for search engines to crawl, I like the Microsoft SEO Toolkit to find all issues. if you have more technical issues than your compeditors this maybe why. Does SEOMOZ show any issues. I use the tools to compare my progress against others in a relative way. They will never be completly accurate, but a good indication.

Ok so more research shows that it is a good idea to have a google places page set up for each business location. Still I would like to know if anybody with experience in the area can answer the following: Should I use the home page as the landing page from each individual google places page or is it better to have a specific landing page for each one?

Hi Rookie123 Having unique IP's may be of use from an SEO perspective if you have multiple sites that you are interlinking with the hope of boosting SEO. However there is no guarantee that Google will not be able to work out that the sites are still in fact related. If this is a single stand alone site then I would not worry about having a unique IP as I am not aware of any tangible benefit and would be more focused on resolving the duplicate content issue. Have I heard of this? Yes. Is it a legitimate concern? Yes, but the impact of the links being removed depends on whether those links are "being counted by Google." If these "rented links" aren't being counted (or contributing very little), then their removal won't really matter. Are the links indexed? Are they on domains that rank? What are the PA's & DA's for these links?

New domain, new brand etc." Excerpt from question "If the other site no longer need be used, I see no reason not to redirect." I would agree, but she says nothing about not using the old site. That's the issue - the other site already has traffic for more keywords than just the new domain exact match. So why kill all traffic that the client receives from the old domain? - and leave what in it's place? Reliance on Google to catch up?

Well, over these many people consider it fits deceived. Recently I did a 301 from a site that had a lot of anchors a keyword to another new domain. The site with many anchors was not yet well ranked. This new Domain began Rank even without a good on-page optimization for that keyword and no direct link back. I suppose it happened because the strength of anchors contained in the old domain. So in my conception, 301, transfers the force of anchor texts.

You're good then.  It's the negative z index implementations that have issues.

This happens to me often at new sites. The OPE takes a while to start reading the links on new sites, we have to wait for updates. Keep doing the work normally linkbuilding from time to time we receive an email informing you of updates OPE. If you want to check out more new links, try the Majestic SEO, is also very good.
