301 Redirect for homepage with language code
Ok, problem solved. The methodology in my question was apparently not the right approach. The structure should I had to set up a language folder /en/ and copy my index.php and .htaccess file to that location. Then I modified the index.php file to direct to the 'en' site and changed the base URL in the Magento backend to /en/. Also, I turned off 'add store code to URL'. Now my Taiwan visitors see http://www.88kbbq.com/ and visitors to the English site see http://www.88kbbq.com/en/. No redirects necessary.

Category pages in forums
Hey Ryan, I think you answered your own question. A wiki type page with links to forums could be pretty useful I feel. Good idea! Compare that to your standard forum category page such as Google's Webmaster Forum. I would not 'noindex' the page either, because you're likely to get a lot of useful links to that page, and could rank for some good queries with it. Would it be possible to expand on your wiki idea, and possible have social type content on the page as well? perhaps for example, you could pull in a couple tweets about each, or something of that nature. Mostly, I'm thinking, how could the page be made more shareable. What do you think?

Help with SEOmoz API
Hello there! This is more of a customer service question than an SEO question, so definitely hit up our support forums at http://seomoz.zendesk.com. Specifically, the API Developer's Forum is where you should post questions about the API: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293196-developer-discussion-group. If it's account-specific, you can always write in a support question to help@seomoz.org. I'm not familiar with PHP, but if you try to make the call using the http sample code provided at www.seomoz.org/api you should be able to get data back. If you need help with other sample code, hit up those API forums and check our the API Wiki: http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/w/page/13991133/SEOmoz-API-Home. Hope that helps! See you on the forums.

Howdy JSOC. You can use regex in your .htaccess file. Here's a tutorial to get you started. I'm still trying to master this subject myself, but if you want to provide the specifics, I'll do my best the help you. And if all else fails, you can ask Casey Henderson @ SEOmoz, he'll definitely be able to help you out

Google still caching old site
Since the site has been stale for sometime, have a look at the crawl graph to get an idea of how often Google visits and follow Ryan's advice to give it a nudge.

It always helps a lot if you can share the URL so we can take a closer look. when i put my blog URL in google i found it If you found your URL still listed in Google, then you have not been penalized in terms of having your site removed from the Google index. when i searched for any post title it not appear How exactly did you perform this search? How far did you look? Without looking at the site, we can only guess. Please share the URL if you can.

Should I create mini-sites with keyword rich domain names pointing to my main site?
I had previously learned the deeper a keyword was in the URL, the better it was for ranking in SERPs. I am uncomfortable now because I can't remember where I learned that information or from whom. I spent about 90 minutes today watching all of Matt Cutt's videos discussing the topic. I also read numerous articles. In short, I could not locate any conclusive information on this topic. Everyone agrees it is good to have keywords in the URL, but no one shares if there is any higher value at various positions within the URL. I began a Q&A topic to seek more information on this topic. http://www.seomoz.org/q/keywords-in-urls-looking-for-consensus

Is there any tool in/or out of SEOMOZ where we can check anchor texts for internal/external links for a website?
Thanks Theo, it will show me the most effective 3000 links I guess, how about the rest? I want to see all the internal / external links and their anchor texts? Any other tool I can check? I also have SEO Powersuite but not sure whether I can use it or not.

Removing pages from index
yes the no content page thing is a big problem. If you have a "view all" option, and it's more than a dozen, fifteen or maybe 20 products, that should be paginated, with full indexing. Maile Oyhe even talked about that specific scenario of "view all" being good. In my experience, all of the no-content pages should, ideally, be 301 redirected in a way that they point to the most relevant highest level category page on your site. Since there's so many, there's no easy way to get them removed from the index other than doing the 301 then being patient as Google recrawls then re-confirms.

Is it important to have a geo modifier for local SEO link building?
Thank you for clarifying and sharing your knowledge. I think it is easy to get stuck in a link building rut with little variance when working on local, so this will very much help.

Who do you follow on Twitter?
One suggestion for who to follow is to listen to the people that SEOMoz trusted for the recent Search Engine Ranking Factors 2011. I've compiled the list of contributors into an easy to follow twitter list: http://twitter.com/#!/darrochreid/seo-insights As you don't care about their eating habits, I also created a filtered version of SEO/Search related updates. This updates each day, so should be more practical: http://paper.li/darrochreid/1308375741 For Web Design I'd follow the following 5 folk: @smashingmag @alistapart @zeldman @Malarkey @paul_irish Enjoy Darroch

Did Something Happen With Google's Algo On 06/09/2011?
I only ever had to file a reconsideration request once. In that instance it was processed in a bit under 3 weeks. Google will respond, it may take a month though. If I was in your position, I would continue to look at every aspect of my site and links as try to determine any possible reason there could be to remove your site from the index. In the mean time, wait the few weeks for Google to respond to your request. I can't recommend 301'ing the site at this point. If the site was permanently removed from the index, then certainly use 301s to your new site.
