Should I post these viral videos/photos on my website?
Just make sure that you're not violating copyright when you repost these. I've seen some posts that were compilations of copyrighted images found on the web, with some nasty comments on the post from the original artist.

What SEO conferences do you recommend?
My main SEO conference experience has been attending several SES and SMX events. I personally prefer the SMX events because I think they tend to have fresher topics, and it's a more comfortable conference to attend in that you have better food, more networking time between sessions, etc. SMX Advanced is good in that it's a somewhat smaller show, and has more advanced topics. I think some of it depends on your focus. A small, focused seminar like EGOL talks about may be just what you need, or you may want a conference with a wider variety of topics.

NEW LINKS
Sure, if the site already has 100's of links, can you now start adding 40+ a month. The idea is to not have 100 link in June and 3 links in July through September, then 100 links again in October. (unless there is a large PR release, or another reason for large volumes of inbound links to occur) I would first say to start looking at pages that do not have these number of links and build them up. Home Page: 1,000's of links Product Category Page: 100's of links Product Page: 1-5 links Build links to this deep page first if you can. (make sure you have a 301 plan in place for dropped pages)

How does a mega drop-down affects SEO?
So, is a flat structure bad for SEO? I mean, it's the pages in the "bottom" of the site structure that are the most important ones... Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. It depends upon a lot of factors, mostly the size of your site, your goals and the relative amounts of competition that your pages are up against. Anybody who gives you an answer here is guessing. This is one of the most important strategy decisions that a webmaster can make and a good decision would require an evaluation of your site, keyword competitiveness research, plus information about your business. On top of that the ideal structure of your site can change over time as it becomes more powerful or as your competitors become more powerful. New sites often do best with a narrow structure and then can go flatter and flatter as they gain power. It would be best to hire someone who really knows link structure and competitive analysis if you want a good evaluation of this.

Link juice distributed to too many pages. Will noindex, follow fix this?
Has the number of pages indexed changed? Specifically, do you have a sitemap and have you looked at what GWT is reporting for number of pages indexed? Maybe some of your pages dropped out of the index and that's why you're not getting as much traffic? Also, do a quick look at your pages and make sure something silly didn't happen when the products were added, like a rel canonical setting everything to the home page, or 5000 items suddenly getting a noindex, or your analytics program suddenly being stripped from some of your pages and that's why you're missing visits.

Canonical Tag for a 404 page
The two most important points expressed in this thread of comments are: There is a reason for 404s, don't 301 everything There is no reason to lose the value of someone linking to your page. If those 2 statements are true then you should create an individual error page, and then everytime you serve a 404 you should include canonical to that error page. That page should have useful content (explanation of page missing and where you could go), probably a search box, and links to the most valuable content on your site. This satisfies both points.

Linking from other language websites passes juice or not?
Yes, it will pass juice. And if you are looking for traffic in other languages, this is a smart thing to do

Link Age as SEO factor?
Do you have the option of not displaying the extension on your URL? That way no matter what underlying language you use, you have the same URL and don't have to worry about updating links in the future.

Any plans to allow direct comparison between a selected website (client) and top competitors?
I am not aware of anything you are missing, but I have not delved into all the SEOmoz tools as much as I would like to either.

Moving poor content to its own domain may risk being seen as a doorway page?
My logic is that the content isn't that bad, and has potential for improvement. It currently drives 30% of organic traffic to the site and accounts for 75% of the total urls. At the moment, we just want to get out from under the Panda penalty, and work on improving the content in the future. Moving it to its own url seems like the best option until can improve it later.
