Does paid search get more traffic compare to organic search now?
should we invest more on adwords and organic isn't important like before?? The first question..... Can you make a profit with Adwords? Most people don't make a profit and don't know it because they don't know their real costs and margins -- or they hire an SEO who bids without any of that information. Second question... Can you pull off the rankings?... Most people can't... and that's why they are blowing their dough on Adwords. Answer those questions and you know if you should take Door #1, Door #2, or Door #3 (which is try a different project.

Wrong pages ranking for specific keywords
Hi KMCBRIDE I work with a lot of UK eCommerce stores and find this a lot. Your 'shop by' pages are created by the shop-by tag. This ski version can be appended to any page so for examples you have: https://www.dare2b.com/womens/shop-by/activity/ski/ https://www.dare2b.com/womens/shop-by/activity/ski/gender/womens/ https://www.dare2b.com/womens/shop-by/activity/ski/product_category/clothing/ https://www.dare2b.com/womens/shop-by/activity/ski/product_types/ski_jackets/ https://www.dare2b.com/womens/shop-by/activity/ski/gender/womens/product_types/ski_jackets/ https://www.dare2b.com/womens/shop-by/activity/ski/categories/dare2b_womensdare2b_womensjacketsdare2b/ https://www.dare2b.com/womens/shop-by/activity/ski/categories/dare2b_womensdare2b_womensfleecemidlayersdare2b/ https://www.dare2b.com/womens/shop-by/activity/ski/categories/dare2b_womensdare2b_womenstrousersdare2b/ Then you have https://www.dare2b.com/womens/jackets-coats/ Which mentions the terms 'ski jackets', 'padded winter coats' and 'waterproof jackets' The bottom line is that /activity/ski is carved down into 2 genders 3 Department 9 Categories 19 Product types - including ski jackets! These can then be combined with colour of which there are 12 https://www.dare2b.com/womens/shop-by/activity/ski/colour_group/black/ And Price: https://www.dare2b.com/womens/shop-by/activity/ski/size/m/ The size, colour & price pages don't seem to be ranking even though they have an index/follow on them. They are not being blocked in robots.txt either so you must be controlling them in htaccess or some other way. If they were they would create an even bigger mulit-dimensional matrix. All of this low-quality content needs to be properly diagnosed and gone through. All tags inherit the highest category on-page content and meta too. You are doing really well to rank for Ski Jackets to be honest as Google has a big job knowing how to index your site. It's not just activity/ski either - it is every tag combining with every other tag that is causing you serious headaches. 2420 pages of activity/ski alone. Happy to chat if you would like to learn more. Regards Nigel - Carousel Projects UK

Linking from high ranking sub domain pages to less ranking main domain pages to benefit latter
You have to decide how important the new pages are compared to the old ones. If you really want the new pages to beat the old pages, you should 301 the old pages to the new ones. (You could even make another new page, "old guides," that you could link to from the new page, if there is enough demand for the old guides.) If you are trying to move authority away from the old pages and onto the new pages, the old pages won't be as findable in search. You have to decide whether this is important. Yes, canonicals do pass page rank though (as with many things in SEO) there is debate about the details. Yes, you could do that, but it is sending Google mixed messages. First you tell them to ignore the old page and look at the new page, but then the new page points to the page you said to ignore. (Take a look at Pete Meyers' Whiteboard Friday for more on this.) The other problem with this approach is that the old content would still be out there, potentially getting links or other recognition that you'd rather have for the new page. (Even though page authority can be passed in various ways, you always lose something during transfer.)

How to create sitemap for example.com and blog.example.com ?
Hi fogtheagency www.example.com and blog.example.com are two separate domains and you shouldn't have a common sitemap for two different sites. The best way of setting up your blog is to have the whole installation in a directory of your main site. If it is Wordpress it's very easy to FTP save the files&directories, export WP files & Database and re-upload to www.example.com/blog This is a much better way of keeping all of the link juice on the one domain and your blog as a sub-directory of the main website will be automatically included in the same sitemap as your main website. Do the sub domain backlinks count for main domain and increase authority?
Nigel's suggestions are right on. We redirected subdomains into folders on the main site and the results were KICKASS. KICKASS. We started producing a lot more traffic and making a lot more money.

Best server-side xml sitemap generator?
Our company uses a custom CMS for each of our niche classified websites. Ideally, we would like an online/cloud-based platform that would generate our sitemaps for us. Dyno Mapper looks like a good contender, but the $108 monthly fee seems a bit steep.

Can Google Bot View Links on a Wix Page?
Google tries to index the rendered page, not the raw page code. The best way to see that page as Google sees it is to use the Fetch and Render tool in Google Search Console. Alternately, you can use the developer tools in Chrome or Firefox to show the rendered version of the page code. Right-click in an area of the page you wish to view, and then select Inspect. This will bring up the inspector which will show you the rendered page code close to how Google sees it. (Google uses Chrome V42 for indexing, while the current version of Chrome is 62 - so you're not necessarily seeing exactly what G is seeing, which is why Fetch and Render is more the view G actually sees.) The screenshot below shows the Inspect method of viewing the rendered page in current Chrome - but as I say, safest is to view within Google Search Console's Fetch tool. Hope that helps? Paul P.S. This is an example of why Wix is not recommended for critical websites - it's using JavaScript methods to render basic page content which Google "says" it can index, but it's depending on a completely non-standard way of presenting page content which depends on search crawlers deviating from their standard methods to try to crawl it. (And there have been incidents in the past where G's crawling capabilti8y for this kind of JavaScript wasn't indexing it properly, causing major issues for a huge number of sites.) hgWsq

Duplicate Descriptions
Hello there! Google does not use Meta description as a ranking factor. So you wont be penalized for having duplicates. But, having good texts there can make a difference as it is the text to likely be shown in SERPs. Using Bold text for keywords
I believe it's more of a user experience thing rather than SEO, although technically it is a ranking factor (very small one). Additionally, too much bold text will probably have the opposite effect. The purpose of bolding text is to emphasise, keep it in context and relevant and bold where you need to.

Password Protected Page(s) Indexed
Thanks. I ended up "no indexing" those pages. Someone else told me not to "no follow", so I changed it back to "follow". Haven't really seen any changes on the SERPs from doing this, so not sure if these pages were causing any issues. Thanks again.

Old links that need to be removed
Hey Bill, Dave here from the Help Team! If you are finding these in Site Crawl, you can also find the referral link, which is where we found these 404 links. Using that referral link might help you track down where in the source code these links are being found if you wanted to remove them. Hopefully that helps to clarify!

Backup Server causing duplicate content flag?
That's a great point -- I've been thinking about that. My only concern is that doing a conditional noindex, might send confusing messages to Google. What are your thoughts on this? Appreciate the help!
