Back links from seller review platforms
Hi Swiftech buy As far as I can see resellerratings.com is a dofollow backlink so it would add to the overall weight of backlinks you would be looking for, Trustpilot is nofollow. (Just go to the page right click>view page source and look for the link) If I was starting a new campaign on a brand new site with 1 DA I would look for a wide range of varied backlinks as possible which would include getting in local directories, local/national (if you can) news sites, suppliers, partners and maps. Rand did a Whiteboard Friday on this a while back. Watch this for advice on getting those first 50 backlinks: https://moz.com/blog/link-building-tactics-to-acquire-50-links And this on the value of nofollow https://moz.com/blog/seo-value-nofollow-links My advice is, don't sign up with a review site just because of one dofollow backlink. (Finally, yes the backlink is created when you sign up with them) Regards Nigel

Can redirect URL website also shown on the google ranking? and higher than the original website?
Hi Healthmate Google will choose whichever page has the content that matches user intent most closely in relation to the key phrase or word typed into search. So if a user searches 'How much is Aspirin online?' and one page answers that perfectly then that page will show higher. If the user searches 'Aspirin' and both pages mention the word you will be in Neverland - in the far lower reaches of Google. The best thing is not to produce any duplicate content - if you do then rel=canonical to the best version of the page. Regards Nigel

How to solve this issue and avoid duplicated content?
Bang on Nigel! Canonical tags are definitely the way to go on this one!

Instructional Videos on Separate Websites
Hi Kevin Yes, this is absolutely the right method. You won't rank for the video on the two pages with the canonical but I guess you have a reason for this but cross-domain rel-canonical is the correct way to do this, I would also consider transcribing the video on the important page too for maximum SEO juice. How to see SERPs the way that moz sees SERPs
Hi Catherine If you open an incognito window in chrome - top right, three dots where 'history' is then the browser will have a black background. See Screenshot. You can see there is a popup that says 'Google wants to know your location' Just hit 'Block' You can see it's non-locational as there is no Google My business Regards Nigel UsqErhN.gif

Do we get de-indexed for changing some content and tags frequently? What is the scope in 2017?
Google's goal is to have the most relevant information possible, so improving and updating your content won't get you deindexed—quite the opposite. When you say you dropped in rankings when you added new content, what do you mean? The pages you changed dropped down? Or dropped out of Google's index? It is hard to say why that would have happened without seeing what changed but if you are sure that your changes made the pages better for what they were ranking for, it is likely that they will come back. In the meantime, be sure you didn't change something you didn't intend to change like the index/noindex status of the page. (It seems obvious, but sometimes these things can just slip through!)

A page will not be indexed if published without linking from anywhere?
If a page has no links and has not been submitted another way, Google won't see it.

Google+ Brand Account Separate from Google My Business
They are indeed separated, to get your G+ page for your local listing to display in brandaccounts, create a new G+ page and use the exact URL you use for GMB. This will let Google know they are tied together.

Why is my website not ranking for it's brand name in SERPs but has been indexed by Google?
Hi Timmy3 That's a problem but it is not insurmountable. Clearly, you will have an issue with duplicate content so what I would do is create more content. Put in a section about Auckland with some photos of the city and name them appropriately. The main image Alt text should be Crowne Plaza Aukland but then put further images in with Alt text, Auckland City, Aukland New Zealand, Crowne Plaza Hotel - Aukland New Zealand. The additional images with Alt text (essentially baby anchor text) will enhance your page and make it feel really local. If this is combined with say 500 words of local information and facts about the city and your hotel/the city then you will create a really rich local page. Then head over to whichever local citation service you use - I use Bright Local but there are versions on Whitespark and MOZ and make sure all your NAPS list your page as the one to go to first. Bright Local allows you to do a 'citation burst' which will cover the top 25 local citation sites (Yelp, Yell etc) along with Factual for around $85 USD. It is totally worth it. I think if you do this you will outrank the more generic booking pages within a month or so. More on local citations here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/local-citations Robots.txt - Yes it performs the same function as noindex, the pages will not be crawled. "and should we also no index /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php "- Yes noindex that too. If you are blogging then no index tags, archive & author pages. You can do this in Yoast. Regards Nigel

Asking to be inculded after post has gone live. Bit of a no no? Or common practice?
Isaac, Ask away! Site wont include you if they are not aware that you exist. What better way to let them know then to reach out ask for links back to your quality content. I would refrain from using spammy language and try to be real and authentic with your approach. Build relationships with the site owners. This sense of friendship can payoff in the long run. But remember your content has to be quality! Thanks, Don Silvernail

Link building - anyone use this technique?
Hi there, Thanks for the question! As Nigel said, it is a risky tactic if you're doing this kind of thing at scale, so I'd definitely echo what he said about being careful. There are legitimate ways of linking multiple sites that you own together - publishers will often link all of their magazine sites together - but the way you've described it doesn't fit with this. It may well work for a short period, but if it's clearly been done for SEO purposes then it will most likely catch up with you at some point! Hope that helps! Paddy
