Hey 720, Links in Just Discovered Links are completely separate from Links in Mozscape/OSE. JDL "indexes URLs within about one hour of being shared on Twitter—as well as the URLs linked from those tweeted pages." As I understand it, JDL URLs are displayed in the report without regard to their value or the value (DA,PA) of the pages the links reside on.  On the other hand, URLs in OSE are not indiscriminate.  The links in OSE are the result of crawls that attempt to reach only URLs of a predefined depth/quality. I'm not sure if this is the case for your situation but (again, as I understand it), if the links that show up in JDL are found on low quality pages, it is possible that they will never show up in OSE. 30 days is the length of time a just discovered link remains visible on JDL.

Hi Bruce Thank you for your answer. What do you think of using Amazon SES instead of mandrill as it's cheaper overall? We are planning to use Amazon SES for all outgoing emails, Sendy app (sendy dot co) for Newsletter sending and Zendesk for sending support emails. Thoughts?

Hi Tyler, This should do it. If you don't do this facebook will scan all the pics and give a user an option to choose out of the scanned images. If the above is used once it will give one default image to be selected. You can use multiple og:image tags to allow the user to chose multiple default images that you have selected. It's definitely us down under here in Australia.  The thing I would recommend is getting started on reconfirming your categories and your listing addresses now.  Google has started heavily validating categories and making sure only one of each type of business is at an address (is it possible to have 8 photographers in one building?  Sure, but not likely.) Just review things now, while you have the chance. We're re-validating a LOT of clients and it's a lot of work.

Joomla will do that to you To answer your questions: Yes, the use of robots.txt in this case makes sense. You will save some crawling budget that can be spent by Google's bot somewhere else. I would't worry about the WMT errors though - nothing bad can happen if you have them there and if you solve the issue those will go away - no need to spent time on those - it dosen't affect your performance in any way. Maybe not in ranking per se. But if you are signed in as you search, and your google plus profile happened to somehow interacted or be connected-with the person (especially if he is really a well known and well connected ie a lot of people have circled him/her on G+); for those signed in users the article might have showed up on the first page (lets say) and with no authorship or someone else might not even show up. With this in mind I would keep the author that has the most influences or people that have circled him, or that has the most activity on his/her Google+ network. Again Google is saying one thing, but with the move of making the search more social this is not unlikely. This also in Google's eyes may not be a pure "ranking" process but more related to "displaying relevant info" from your friends on the G+ network. Just some thoughts

the free tool i use is google alerts, you can type in as many urls as you want and google sends you emails when your url has been linked. Its free and without all the hassle.

Hello! The rankings update are on a weekly cycle so when you add new keywords it can take 1 or 2 cycles depending on when they were added. For example if your rankings are collected on Mondays and you add new keywords on that same Monday or Tuesday, they will appear in the next collection cycle the following Monday. If you add them on a Friday or within 72 hours, you may miss the update and they will be delayed another week. The earlier you can add keywords, the better. It doesn't make sense to noindex your mobile pages, after all, surely you want them indexing especially if some of your pages are not exact duplicates of your desktop site pages. If you are concerned about the appearance of duplicate content, then use a special mobile rel='canonical’ tag. You find plenty about it here where essentially the advice from Google is as follows: To help our algorithms understand this configuration on your site, we recommend using the following annotations: On the desktop page, add a special link rel="alternate" tag pointing to the corresponding mobile URL. This helps Googlebot discover the location of your site's mobile pages. On the mobile page, add a link rel="canonical" tag pointing to the corresponding desktop URL. I would +1 Wiliam's answer here. 301 redirects in addition to Bing's site moving function should do the trick. Particularly if the links that point to the old domain, which will be redirected via the 301, contain your brand name - I've seen this carry the branded search rankings over regularly. Moz has chosen to keep their home page title reading "SEOmoz is now Moz" for several months now - I don't know first-hand, but I'd imagine they've done this in part as insurance to ensure they rank for their old brand name. Might be worth considering the same.

HI Luken, I would never completely trust a 3rd party service. You still have to check each link. Blindly removing or disavowing is not the way to go. That said, I've used Link Detox and feel comfortable recommending them. That said, I still add a layer of manual review on top of their process. Removeem and Rmoov are both fine services, IMO, but may not be right for everyone.

Just want to add one comment. Where people end up in trouble is when they apply the canonical tag too broadly (to non-duplicates). This tends to happen when you have a CMS and one template drives multiple pages. So, let's say that all of your product pages are created by: http://example.com/product.php ...and you just add IDs to that to create a product, like: http://example.com/product.php?id=123 If you add a canonical tag to "product.php" pointing to a single product, you would essentially tell Google to canonicalize every product page on your site to just that one product. This is because that one physical file impacts hundreds of URLs. So, in that case, you would have to make sure the code logic was in place to apply the proper ID.

Ibenzo, As you have pointed out, Google does rank them differently, thus it does see them as different.
