Google does limit the number of pages it crawls and indexes based on your PageRank. So if you don't have a lot of external links, then if you publish 10 articles a day they may not be crawled or indexed in a timely fashion. The higher the authority of your site, the more content Google will index, and sooner.

Sites that optimise the mobile experience will enjoy better rankings. That doesn't have to be a responsive site - it could be delivered on a separate mobile version or by dynamic serving. Clearly if you are providing your mobile visitors with an experience enhanced for mobile devices then you will be rewarded for that. A users who comes to a site from search which provides only a desktop version of the site and finds it virtually unusable will inevitably click back immediately - sending to Google the signal that their search query hasn't been met by that site. Optimise the user experience for the device the user is using - remember responsive isn't always the best option for user experience.

+1 to what Keri said. Facebook is pretty restrictive. There used to be a great G+ product out there, Find me on Plus, but it seems to have gone the way of the Dodo. Not sure what happened there. I know we are doing some interesting stuff internally w/ G+ and hope that it will see the light of day in product.

Fiona, Just to be clear, what you're referring to are subdomains, and not domains. You're right, though, there are definitely issues related to duplicate content that is going to cause ranking problems. Typically, Google will rank the content that they crawled first: the others will be the duplicates. The best way to deal with this is to decide which subdomain you really want: which will typically be www.clientdomain.com and then 301 redirect all of the others to www.clientdomain.com. If, however, there is unique content on the other subdomains, then you wouldn't want to redirect those.

Hey guys thanks again for the help but I am still looking for some data to prove this point.  I have gone ahead and determined that the keywords we are currently using are placing us page 4 and below while our title tags are placing us higher.  If there are any other articles are hard facts on how this doesn't help in this scenario it would be greatly appreciate.

Absolutely Jeffrey. It is just an identifier so should be no issues with this at all. I have a large client who have done a very similar thing and 18 months on, SERP positions are still in the top 2 -Andy

Thanks so much Bill and Brian. This is exactly what I was thinking. I did the same thing Bill suggested initially and took a snippet from one of the reviews and did a verbatim search and got nothing. What I thought this told me was that yes, the page was indexed, but not the content. The fact that the cached version renders the content from the javascript only shows that the script was executed, not necessarily that any of the content it contains was actually indexed. From an SEO standpoint I think this is valuable content that the dealer would very much want indexed. While the service providing the javascript might be very convenient, and the majority of end users might be able to consume the content, the fact that it's not searchable, to me, means it's an opportunity lost. Agreed - the keyword usage guideline is just a guideline - if it's leading to a high ratio of thin-to-unique content, I'd probably not worry about. In other words, I'd drop some of the thin content. As others said, it's more of a ratio situation and a bit gray - the more unique content you can get in that second paragraph that adds value, the better. As it stands, these pages are certainly looking a little thin.
