Google sets brand/domain name at the end of SERP titles
Unfortunately, there's very little you can do to stop Google from rewriting titles. In some cases, if a title is too long or poorly matches frequent queries, tweaking it can help, but that's often not the case with them adding your brand name. I'm with Bill - I'd try to pin down if Google is pulling this from another source. If it's just coming from your domain, though, there may not be much you can do. There's no directive to tell them to stop rewriting, unfortunately.

Change domain whilst under a partial manual links penalty
Hi there, Unfortunately I think you will be lucky to escape the penalty being moved to the new domain, no matter whether you are selective with which URLs you 301 or not. Our understanding is that the penalty will be transferred with the 301 of the domain. It would be preferable to resolve the penalty before the domain move takes place, but if you really can't wait to change the domain in line with the SSL certificate, you're best advised to keep working on the reconsideration / link removal process continuously to try and have it removed as soon as possible. The more links you can remove, the higher the likelihood that your request will be successful. As I mentioned earlier, unfortunately I doubt that the new domain will escape the penalty. As such, you're better off continuing with the efforts while the domain move takes place. When you submit the next reconsideration request, consider including the information that you have changed domain names for business purposes and you understand that this is not a tool to escape the penalty. Basically, Google wants to see real evidence that you've put a lot of effort into link removal. It always seems that the more effort that can be put in and demonstrated, the quicker you can get a reconsideration request approved. Cheers, Jane

Getting mixed signals regarding how Google treats subdomains
I don't know. I have been making websites for a long time. I've seen google treat subdomains like gold and stack them in the SERPs so that subdomains on a single domain will fill the top ten and push all competitors down. Then I've seen google treat subdomains like crap, then like gold again. So, don't bet on today's flavor. Keep in mind that lots of domains have subdomains managed by other people. Do you think that the actions of those "other people" should make the rest of the domain stink if they are crappy? If you think that your subdomain should not stink if the rest of the domain is populated by idiots then go ahead and place your big bet on subdomains being treated equally. I'm not going to do it. Do you think that blogspot blogs are treated like a single site? I vote NO on that. Do you agree? If you want your collection of content to be guaranteed support for your main site then you better put it in a folder. I am putting my good content in a folder and staying away from hosts, shopping carts, software, platforms and any service that can't handle putting my content in a folder. Google changes their mind on this type of stuff all of the time. So bet on what you think is long-term certain and not on what you hear people sayin' even if Matt Cutts is the one who is sayin'. I remember him posting right here on moz (SEOmoz then) that you could sculpt pagerank with nofollow. Then Google changed their mind on that and didn't tell anybody. Do what makes long term sense, not what people are sayin'. I think that smart people are still saying put your content in a folder.

Have you seen what happens when you Google Academy Awards 2014?
Hi, It's indeed part of their knowledge graph but this is a more obvious box than you normally see on the right side. For the winter olympics they had something similar where they showed the medal rankings for example (hé, I've checked it many times, the Dutch ended on 5th place ;-)). They seem to do it with big events where they show useful data. You'll probably see it again this summer during the world championship football.

Google + Business Page Custom url -too-spammy-long-url?
Hi Chris, Recommend that you read: http://www.localvisibilitysystem.com/2013/11/08/should-you-accept-a-custom-url-for-your-google-plus-local-page/ https://plus.google.com/+GoogleBusiness/posts/JVAgfxKHQ8u http://blumenthals.com/blog/2013/10/31/google-custom-urls-facts-tidbits-and-concerns/ I'd recommend going with adding your city/state name to the URL only if you feel reasonably certain that the business is permanently located there. If you predict a future move, it wouldn't be a good choice.

Should I "NoIndex" Pages with Almost no Unique Content
besides my comment below the other issue I am facing is that I have several neighborhoods I would like to rank for within a region. Does this mean best idea is to get rid of these neighborhood pages (via noindex or other solution) and just focus on the region, until I am able to add unique content to the neighborhood pages?

How to fix this URL?
Moz isn't able to follow Javascript. If you disable javascript, you won't be able to get past the home page on your site, and you'll never get to http://ravisharrma.com/home.html. 301 redirects - an ongoing argument in our agency
Redirecting at the registrar level doesn't allow you to redirect individual pages, only entire domains. In some cases, that's not an issue but if you're redirecting a site that has back links pointing at internal pages by redirecting the entire domain, then you are foregoing a lot of the value of those back links. Redirects on the host can let you redirect one specific internal URL to another specific internal URL and keep much of the value of the links pointing at the old URL.

How to lay off your SEO compnay?
Armin, Before you tell your SEO company, I recommend that you thoroughly review any contracts that you signed in order to make sure you understand everything. I would make sure that you make backups of any content that has been produced, and make sure you change the appropriate passwords on the site and on any tools that the SEO firm may have access to: Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, etc. Your conversation should be focused around leaving your SEO firm in good standing if possible, because there could be issues later on that arise (if they're mad at you, they could start some negative SEO or cause other hassles).
