Hi Deckjur, Looks like your homepage is highly optimized for the keyword in questions, and has more link equity than the internal pages, which is why it might be showing in search results. For one, "vloerisolatie" is the first word of your homepage title tag, and the keyword appears several times on the page. If you really want the subpage to rank first, you could try pointing more internal links to it - not just navigation links, but honest-to-goodness text links. Think of it from a visitors point of view. If you really wanted them to go to this page, how would you direct them there? You could also try de-optimizing your homepage for the term, or roll with the punches and accept your homepage as the best result and do your best to convert visitors there.

Hey Gerard, Paddy's right that it can be about 4-8 weeks to see the Just Discovered links show up in the main index, but we also had a delay in this most recent update so the data is not as fresh as it normally would be. Normally, the data in the index is collected for about three weeks prior to the update, while the data for this index is probably closer to 6 weeks. Even so, we began feeding sites and links into the scheduler to be included in the next index well before we start collecting data. This means that, even if we found your links in Just Discovered links 6 or 7 weeks ago, those links might not have made it into the scheduler for this most recent update. They should be in the schedule for our next update, however. I would say that it can be several updates before you see the links from Just Discovered show up as fully established links in the index as a general rule. We are working on a project that will make the index update with much fresher data in the future. I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Chiaryn

Hi, Google has no problem with collapsable Div's elements that are crawlable. I mean if the bot can see and read the content in the collapsable div, there is no issue with that. I have used this 100's of times and never had ranking issues + in the text-only version of google cache, i see the whole content. So, use some css + onclick njs function and u're good to go. Hi, I had this kind of penalties in a client website. I knew most of the bad links were targeting the homepage + some brand-dedicated pages. Those were the pages that had the big drop in traffic. We worked hard to remove the bad links, and after 3 months or so, we got this penalty lifted. Now we are regaining rankings progressively and our penalized landing pages are climbing in traffic. So what you have to do is simply remove the bad links, use the disavow tool and send a reconsideration request to G (this is a manual penalty). Hope it helps !

Hi Marc, When you say Wordpress blog do you mean you'll be hosting the WP blog on your own server? Or you're using one hosted on wordpress.com (albeit via blog.yoursite.com) ? If you are hosting it yourself then WP runs on PHP so normally plays pretty nicely with other PHP sites, just install it in a subfolder (so www.yoursite.com/blog/) and you should be good to go (unless you have any re-write rules that could mess with what wordpress is trying to do - just make sure thay they don't touch on  the /blog/ sub-directory). If you are hosting on wordpress.com then why not install WP on your actual site and use the above method? I won't go into the merits of guest blogging as a link building strategy here Best wishes, Stuart

No. it will not affect your organic rankings on Google if you change from reviews to votes. Keep the tab, but add the aggregated ratings on the page. It will be a snapshot of the reviews. and link the snapshot with the tab as well. Reviews are always better than votes because reviews keep your visitors engage and build trust of your site. They spend time in analyzing/reading the reviews which help them make a decision. Reviews increases your time on site. For example I want to buy shoes and visited a shoe website. I see votes, some are positive or negative but I don't know what's positive / negative about them. But if I get reviews I can specifically see the pros/cons, I get a better insight before coming to a buying decision. Rich Snippets can have a huge impact on your website’s performance. However I don't see them helping rankings directly but indirectly they help a lot. It can help you see: 1. Better clickthrough rates from search results 2. More qualified traffic and better conversion rates They also help you communicate a clear, unique value proposition and establish a competitive advantage. Google’s ultimate objective is: to create the best search experience for users, so they can find the best, most relevant results. The better Google Search is able to help its users find the best search result before they click through (to ensure that each click is the correct one), the better the experience for their users. The mindset of "get as many backlinks as you can" is now old school SEO.  This type of SEO is likely to be completely ineffective or at worst, can get you penalized or have Google look at your site unfavorably through the Penguin algorithm. While links are still an important part of the algorithm, Google has gotten really good, in most cases, at determining which links are truly earned links and then counting those. One really good earned link can be worth hundreds of self made links.  Rather than concentrating on how many links a day to make, I'd work on finding ways to get people to link to your content truly naturally.

Google penalizes when it sees that you are gaming seo or trying to fool google. If you use "no follow" on your links, you are saying google that dont count the link juice therefore you are not claiming seo benefit from these links. NO harm done. Google doesn't penalizes you for any no. of "no follow" because you are not fooling it. You have added it for your users, not for google. Many sites like "Pay pal" have their links below any site which uses its payment system, but as it has "no follow", google doesn't penalize them if also they have millions of such link backs. relax and add "no follow" on these type of links. you will get benefit. for sure. Hi, Definitely don't use disavow unless you think that the links are poor quality and could harm your site, or are actively harming it right now. That is what disavow is for, not for removing your 404 pages. There is no harm waiting for Google to remove the 404 pages on its own, especially if you have used its URL removal tool as well. If there are any good links in the backlink profile of the 404ing pages, do attempt to contact the webmaster and have them changed - most people are more than happy to do this.

I considered that but didn't really see any reason this site would add links to our site and then quickly remove them.  I've seen crazier things though.... I actually just finally figured it out, though.  They are displaying our site through a damn iframe.  There's a link hidden in the jumbled mess on their site that says "View Website" -- I missed that before.  Since it doesn't actually link to us, crawlers weren't finding it and my source code search for our URL didn't find it either.  However, Google is reporting it as a link, which is strange.  The "View Website" link really just links to another page on their own site that shows our homepage in an iframe.

Hi Ruben, It could mean that yes you are doing something right, as in getting more links, or just that moz has recently crawled or found more links, and as result you are seeing a jump in your DA.
