Any success stories after removing excessive cross domain linking?
Hi, and thanks for the response. 1. Yes they are on separate domains 2. Do you have any references or experiences to share as per the question title? I.e., what actually causes you say that this will be "ok", whereas this will "cost authority", etc. This kind of information by itself isn't much to base a strategy on...

How to treat 3rd party website that has duplicated our US content in Spanish?
Do you want this client to have full rights to the Spanish speaking Mexican market? If so then you can use hreflang, this will mean any time anyone is searching in Spanish in Mexico Google will show Flintel instead of Teletrac. If not then I would be very cautious of linking to each other Googlebot would see those as paid links unless they are all marked as nofollow. hreflang can always be undone and it can happen very quickly, I have made changes and seen dramatic results in 48hrs. Just make sure you set Teletrac as x-default so that all other traffic goes to Teletrac.

Single page verses multiple pages
thinkseo, You might want to provide them with some ideas related to what they might say on the page. I find people really just need to get a sense of what to write. Or perhaps you can say you'll do it for a little extra $. Does including your site in Google News (and Google) Alerts helps with SEO?
Yes, I would always give it a try as long as you try to follow all their guidelines and only submit news to them they might approve you.

How to choose the best canonical URL
I like to keep the canonical neat so it looks better in the serps so as to encourage future users to click on it (people like clean, readable URLs), so I try not to use unnecessarily complex URLs. I have had very good luck in canonicalizing messy URLs with decent authority to new, completely non-ranking but clean, URLs and not only keeping but growing page authority. And I have a fairly large site which is crawled regularly so I do value consistency--whichever page is set as the canonical will eventually become the ranking page, so current rank is not the biggest issue to me. In the long run, consistency will make your life (and the life of anyone who follows you in your present position) easier. (That being said, it wouldn't hurt anything if you prefer to use what is currently ranking.)

Where do I delete a campaign?
On the campaigns page (the pro home) under the grey bar that says "Campaigns", there is a white bar that has 5 of 5 campaigns (or whatever number you have) on the left--all the way to the right on that bar, in light blue, it says "Manage Campaigns." Click that and you'll see where to delete (or archive).

YouTube transcript being used for junk blog?
If the transcripts were first uploaded by you and they just "scraped" them, then I wouldn't worry about it in the long run. But if they are doing the transcripts themselves and you don't have it anywhere, then that might be a cause for concern.

Strange new links being picked up in Webmaster tools affecting SERPs
Hi Rufus, If it's a minor drop, then it might just be temporary. Are you still building links to your site now? Like you, I normally ignore scraper sites. They sometimes give me a lot of good links lol ill gauge it again after 3 months. If it's effect is questionable, then I end up disavowing them right there if it's a really bad looking site. Some scraper sites are really structurally sound and have unique content so I leave those out.

Site De-Indexed except for Homepage
Resolved! Thanks for your replies everyone. The strange thing was that even though the www version of pages did seem to 301 to non-www version (I checked headers were indeed 301), all our pages had disappeared from Google index and rankings too (exept homepage). The resolution came after we had our host reset the domain to www version on the server to the original state. Within days of changing that, all our deindexed pages (the whole site) jumped back into the original ranking positions in Google with www version and are re-indexed like nothing had happened. Hope this helps someone else.

What makes a site appear in Google Alerts? And does it mean anything?
Great article though MOZ for example does not appear in "news" search which seems weird. Does it mean it won't come up in alerts for terms like "SEO"...? Also, do you think I should ask for inclusion in the news? Does it help with SEO?
