Site redesign makes Moz Site Crawl go haywire
I had the same issue. Many sub directories were renamed and www.moz.com / www.xml-sitemaps.com for almost a week now have been throwing massive amounts of 404s. The failing links are combination of the previous and new site structure. I also would love to know if there is an optimal way to roll out changes to minimize the problems of searching for legacy directories. And does it negatively effect a sites reputation with the index?

Quick SEO Audit of my site.
Outside of the ordinary on-page SEO, focus on speed and responsiveness. I would look at putting your site in https://www.webpagetest.org/ and see if you can prioritize scripts and optimize images. Also, run it through Chrome Dev Tools (F12) and play around. One example is look at the mobile view in there. Is the mobile page to long? Does it need different a different CTA? Where can you use media queries to hide and etc.? Good luck!

Location National vs. Country - Different Ranking
Hi Sam! Thank you for your reply and I understand what you mean. But in this case you should not allow to pick Austria as a location because as a user this lets me think, that I will get the data for Austria. I can find Austria and Vienna in the same location list to pick from, so I was assuming that it will give me Austria as a location. One more question - when will the Keyword Research - Explore by Site tool be available for Austria / Germany? There are only four countries to choose from right now. Ciao - Markus

What should be the ratio between Follow and NoFollow links
Hi there, Thanks for the question. The first thing to mention is that there won't ever be a "right" answer to this. The proportion of follow to nofollow links will differ for every website and it's not something that you should worry loads about. There are also benefits to nofollow links such as the traffic they can send to your website, so they can have value. Google can also use nofollow links as a "hint" in rankings which changed in 2019. You also need to consider the quality of links. It's better to have a small number of high quality, relevant links than a high number of low quality ones, even if this means that you have far more follow than nofollow links. So my core advice would be to focus on quality first. With that said, typically I see website link profiles have anywhere between 10-20% of their links marked as nofollow. Now, this isn't a right answer for you, but it may give you a rough idea of what the case typically is. You can also look at other websites in your industry to see where they sit and get a feel for what's normal in your industry. Again though, I wouldn't worry too much about the proportions, focus on the quality first. I hope that helps! Paddy

Local SEO - ranking the same page for multiple locations
Test it out, or try to get some more local links that will help you rank for the other cities. What I've noticed over the years with Google is that they're pretty good at figuring out the local intent but still serving the same landing page for different cities. Or the opposite way of ranking the local city page for a generic keyword term. With this, you can try to position a few pages to focus on the specific cities and see if it works or if Google is still ranking your main pages. That might save you some headache of having to create dozens of pages but meanwhile could help you see what signals are being picked up.
