MozBar Login Change Update + Firefox Temporarily Disabled
-
I am not able to see any Link Metrics - even though I'm logged into the Moz website.
Is there a current issue?
Background:
1. Using Mozbar in Chrome
2. Click the blue "Log In" link which takes me to the Moz website and I log in (I have a Moz Pro subscription).
3. Then I go back to the tab for the website I'm reviewing - Link Metrics still displays nothing.

You may find you get a better response with help@moz.com. Did you try a refresh on that page after you've logged in? Sometimes with an error turning the Moz bar on and off again ("Have you tried turning it off and on again?") resolves many issues.
Hope some of those help!

Hi, now we already have Version V49. Still The MOZ Toolbar is not working. When do you expect it will be working again? Thanks Maarten
-
Hi Maarten!
Thanks for your question. Re-enabling MozBar in Firefox is on our roadmap, but we don't yet have an ETA.
-
Please do what you can about this. Many of us are waiting somewhat impatiently. Because all of my SEO plugins are on Firefox, I need to open a separate Chrome browser just to use the MozBar. I really need it back on Firefox./

Me, too.

Near as I can tell, the biggest technical blocker to porting the Chrome WebExtension to Firefox will disappear in Firefox 53[0], which lands in the general release channel on 2017-04-18[1]. In other words, now is a good time to start porting, since it can be tested in nightly today.

Going on 1 year and still not working? Not happy to switch to chrome as my other add-ons work better in Firefox Mac. Have to assume at this point FF will be unsupported? Any news would be great.
Also, you need to consider whether or not a site is indexed in Google an effect on DA. Seems odd that a 50+ DA site is de-indexed in Google but still showing great DA in Moz.

Hi Alan,
So sorry for the frustration. We know this is important to many MozBar users and hate to keep you waiting on this. At the moment, we are unable to give an ETA, but it is on our roadmap. I know I sound like a broken record but we had to prioritize this project against other big projects. Sorry, I know this is not the news you wanted to hear.
Thanks,
Roxana

Hi!
Mozilla put together a tool to help test Chrome web extensions for compatibility with Firefox. I took the liberty of running the Mozbar extension through this tool, and there is only one issue to be resolved before the existing Chrome extension will run on Firefox. Check it out:
https://www.extensiontest.com/test/857d5700-a855-11e7-9c3d-35e0bb5262dd
app.runtime is not supported
found in the following locations:
scripts/browser_button.js:46697
scripts/content_page.js:60933Just a couple changes and this will work on Firefox! Any chance we'll see it soon?

Hi there! Thanks so much for looking out for us and bringing this to our attention! I've brought this up with the product and engineering teams and we're going to look into it and see if we'd be able to resolve the issue easily. We need to get a good sense of how much work it'll take before we can prioritize it.
Thanks again for letting us know!
-
Firefox just upped its game in a huge way - it's now super fast and I'm switching away from Chrome. But really disappointed to see that there is no Moz plugin after all this time

-
Thank you for letting me know, Andrew, and I'm so sorry to disappoint. We've had to weigh this work against other priorities, so still no ETA on getting MozBar into Firefox. I appreciate your feedback and will bring it up again with product and engineering. Thanks again!

Is this issue fixed yet?

It's a year later. What is the latest thinking on Mozbar for FF?

This post is deleted! -
"A note to Firefox users
With this change, we will temporarily disable the Firefox version of the MozBar. You may have noticed that the Firefox and Chrome versions of the MozBar are not the same. This is due to Mozilla’s review process, and us being unable to get new versions approved despite multiple attempts.Good news on the horizon! Firefox will start accepting Chrome-based extensions with the release of Firefox v48, which means soon there will be one version of the MozBar. When v48 is released, we will re-enable the MozBar in Firefox. In the meantime you can use the free Google Chrome version."
Two and a half years later, this still appears to have not been fixed. Am I wrong? If not, have you abandoned Firefox permanently?
-
Can you all please respond to the question so that we can know if this was permanently abandoned?
-
An update on this topic would be nice! Thanks in advance!
