Freaky keyword ranking
Does this site below belong to you? It is a replica of your page http://systemfarmer-web.gopagoda.com/uzemeltetes/ When i take a snippet of text and put it in quotes in Google, that site shows up as the authority for that content. If you own that site I would look at canonicalizing it (https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/139394?hl=en) or at least noindex it.

Why Did Our Site Disappear for 6 Months?
If a client is employing me to remove poorest backlinks identified at audit stage, I usually make 3/4 approaches to webmasters first, and see how that goes - and usually manage to take down the majority of spammy backlinks that way.

Happy Thanksgiving, Canuck Mozzers!
I do know there are other community members from Canada. Dana DiTomaso is one (you can see a great mozinar she did about citations at http://moz.com/webinars/you-probably-think-this-citation-source-is-about-you-dont-you). I'm guessing everyone else was busy enjoying dinner instead of being in Q&A. Maybe next month you'll all be busy in Q&A while we're eating?

What Keeps In-House SEOs Up @ Night
Sorry you haven't gotten any responses here! Have you looked at anything Jessica Bowman has written, and seen if there are any chats on Twitter for in-house SEOs? I know Jessica leads the in-house SEO workshop for SMX (http://www.seoinhouse.com/exchange/) and has a lot of experience in that area.

Webmaster Tools Keyword Rankings Explanation
Can you run those searches in google and get your result to show? I've seen things where images results show in the main SERP but Webmaster Tools is counting as "organic" (not image) but it was an image with a weird/random filename. I'd try to replicate the result, see what's ranking there (image/webpage etc) and see if there's some weird occurrence of the keywords. But images would be my first guess. -Dan

Need your professional feedback for a client
No problem. Most of what I learned came from bad decisions or (rather less painfully) from other people on here. Happy to share! Good luck! Ruben

Now that Google is no longer publicly displaying Page Rank updates, how will this effect Moz's ability to calculate DA and PA?
would now looking at the DA and PA of the domain/page respectively, be equally effective in determining the quality of a site, to ascertain whether it is worth reaching out to...? -Yea it will be more effective. Hope this helps

Duplicate content - big brand players
While the exact definition of "stronger" generally falls on pure authority and strength, it is skewing more to perceived user intent. What I mean by this is that if Google infers that the user is looking to purchase a product they would be more prone to rank Amazon however if they believe the user is simply looking for product information they would rank the Samsung site. I a lot of generic queries it's difficult for Google to determine, at least early in the search cycle where they may not have a pre-defined idea of what you're trying to do. In that case they would have to lean on pure strength. That said, as they're getting better and better at personalization of results, one could conclude (and I personally do) that if they see you searching phone models and generally clicking on online stores, that they would then infer that even on the next model-specific generic search, that you'd prefer a shopping experience delivered over the Samsung site and it's product based information.

International pages - SEO - which metatags to use?
Hi, From an SEO standpoint, ideally you should be implementing the hreflang tag - it indicates to the search engines not just the language of the page, but the relationship between the pages on the site in the different languages. It tells the search engines these pages are alternate translations of one another, and you should show the right page for the person in their correct language. You can learn more about the hreflang tag from Google directly: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/182192 https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077?hl=en I would ook to implement this first. Good luck, Mark

Usage of Frames within a Website
Hi Kamran, For a quick solution, you can go in for rel=canonical implementation that will take care of the duplicate content issue. Here is how you implement rel=canonical: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/139394?hl=en Here is another good information about the mistakes regarding rel=canonical implementation: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.in/2013/04/5-common-mistakes-with-relcanonical.html rel=canonical implementation will be lot easier to go with and will fix the issues at hand. However, if you look in the long run, getting rid of the frames will be an ideal way to go with. Hope it helps. Best, Devanur Rafi

How do I predict quality of inbound link before using Disavow links tool?
Hi, I suggest putting your site into the Open Site Explorer and looking at the Page Authority and Domain Authority of the links. These two metrics are Moz's measurement of authority which you can find out more about via the links here: http://moz.com/learn/seo/page-authority and http://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority. They will give you a good idea. Just a word on the Disavow tool. Be cautious in the way you use it and maybe check out this blog post: Disavowed: Secrets of Google's Most Mysterious Tool before you do anything further. I hope that helps, Peter

Rank high for the term "Software development manager"
Hi Zulfiqar You do not say what type of site you have, i.e. what you site is about, but I am guessing a site about IT recruitment? It will be important for you to build a site with pages containing good unique content about the search terms you want to be found for and other things like that, but don't get too hooked into tactics and techniques. Think about the people you want to find your site and what they are looking for and the questions they may have. That should drive the type of pages and content you create. Yes, Moz videos will be a good start for you in the Moz Academy and also read Moz's Beginner's Guide to SEO. Both will give you a good kickstart into what you want to be able to do. Good luck to you, Peter

Best Practices for Getting Shares, Likes, Etc on Social Media?
Keith, Thanks for your quick response. Do you recommend share buttons or like buttons that have a count next to them on the website, rather than the ones that do not?

What's an example of an SEO firm's site that lists their SEO packages excellently
I don't have an example off the top of my head but what I will say is that the way software sites do comparisons of packages is great like avg or something like that. 3 columns, Gold, Silver, Bronze Then down the left a list of all services you offer and then under each column a tick if it is included in that package. Does that make sense? It gives people a very clear understanding in one page what the differences are, rather than having to scroll up and down or flick between pages and scanning sentences. It will likely help people choose a higher package and spend more money with you. A bit like McDonalds asking if you would like fries with that for the small additional cost of X

Is paper.li a Penguin no-no?
I am but there are issues, WMT has some serious issues few people know about. When you download your latest links and compare it with the previous one (lets say two weeks apart), now check the same date for example 1st June. The links will be different! For some reason a vast majority of dates will have different links. So if your file is like mine and has 16,000+ links, going through them and working out dofollw/nofollow/notfound is hell on earth to do even once a month. Google does not want you to recover. If they did they would give you some assistance in this matter, instead they direct you to ahrefs and majestic etc.. That do not have as all the links either and leave room for mistakes. If they wanted you to clean up the mess you or seo agencies made then why not give us the tools to do so and we would all get a good job done. Anyway I don't want to hijack your question with my rant LOL
