  • Hard to imagine that  and sounds like it should have somthing after it.   As far as seo value keywordand.com is not as good as keyword1keyword2.com since and doesn't really say aything about your business

  • Hi, There are two different Facebook Like buttons that you can install. Like Button: This allows the user to 'like' a specific page on your website, which will show up on their profile/feed. You can put this on any page of your website and users are able to like multiple pages. Like Box: This button allows the user to 'like' your company/website page on Facebook or 'follow' your Facebook updates. I think you are looking for using option #2. If load times aren't a concern, consider putting the like box in your header, footer or sidebar allowing people to become your fan on Facebook. Put the like button (#1) on blog posts or product pages so people can easily share your best stuff.

  • I think brand is always important. I did some research into this last year and came away with this: If your brand is strong lead with the brand and then follow with the primary keyword phrase and if your brand is weak, do it the other way around. Use a pipe or dash to separate them. If you search on oatmeal cookies you will see both examples. Keep an eye out on your searches and you'll see lots of results using this style. I think this is a best practice.

  • Hi, Hyphenated domains tend to look more spammy, and consequently receive lower CTR's from the search results. A lot of it is down to perseption of trust. The 2011 SeoMoz ranking factors show a negative correlation between hyphenated domains and rank performance, and although it's hard to say if this is causation, it certainly suggests that if you have the choice between the two then it would be a smarter marketing move to go without the hyphens. Thanks, David

  • Have you checked the google keyword external tool to get an idea of the # of searches per month you get on certain combinations of keywords?  That will help you decide the order of the keywords. For example you might find out that more people search for "Photographer Colorado Springs"

  • Much love and thanks to Rhea Drysdale, who addressed pretty well exactly this subject already in April http://www.seomoz.org/webinars/online-reputation-management-branding-for-serp-domination

  • Hi John, I wonder if you will find your issue described in Mike Blumenthal's latest post: http://blumenthals.com/blog/2012/06/25/a-step-by-step-to-recover-your-we-currently-do-not-support-this-location-in-mapmaker/ There has been considerable fallout from the changeover to Google+ Local. Perhaps you will see your situation described in the above. Miriam

  • You are losing the big picture......the content on the site is the content. New content can continue to focus on "eye  care" or "eye center" regardless what the core name is.......  Make sure if they change the name and change the url you redirect from the old url to the new. Remember, you also have the ability to generate additional "defensive urls' on the same subjects that support either term. Good luck. Please show me the thumbs up. Mark

  • That’s a really tough question, which I’m unsure if there’s a correct answer, in other forms of market segmentation, there are boundaries limited by media form or by the channel  market etc. but the net is really too broad to gain an exact answer because it’s quite subjective. If you’re looking more at the competitive environment you could use the moz Keyword Difficulty & SERP Analysis  to try and understand rankings  vs authority + competition  but be mindful that the long tail has many more variants that make it tough to get an exact answer, in the past I’ve looked at syfu  to gain an understanding of paid market share based on spend but  the limitations are on account structure. You can look at adwords to gain an understanding of local/ global impressions vs rankings  to understand impressions share. For social Joanne Lord did a great video via distilled about social, I think it was on last month’s free video list. You can only make an educated guess by pulling as much competitive data from as many sources as you can.  Sorry if that’s a bit broad!

  • I read sometime ago a good structure is to have every page on the site accesiblie in 3 clicks. Don't create orphan pages, always have the same link block/menu on every page and you should be ok. Site structure is only about 10% of the issue. You need relevant titles/content and links coming into your site to rank well.

  • Hi NewUser123, Unfortunately, this a known issue with the photo delays. Read this post and watch the video: http://blumenthals.com/blog/2012/06/15/google-for-business-forum-update-photos-uploaded-in-dashboard-may-take-1-month-to-appear/ You will see that you are in good company hassling with this. Hope Google will fix this issue soon. Hang in there! Miriam

  • It's certainly possible. I've some sites where the DA is nearly double that of anyone else in the category but they're barely on the first page. The thing to remember about the SEOMoz numbers is that they are a diagnostic, but not based on anything 'real' when it comes to what Google is going to do. This means that you shouldn't treat them as an end all be all indicator of what's possible with a web site or not. I've since deleted the campaign but I remember one case where the site I was working on had a DA of 65 and the number 1 result had a DA of 15.

  • Hi Barney, I have worked on many reputation management projects for various clients. And you can utilize the following items to add more brand serps. Social Profiles - Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus Video - Youtube Micro sites - Where applicable create additional sites that produce unique content and meet the brand's customer needs. Document sharing sites - Share documents such as PDF's that are from the client's website. Make sure you use the proper title, tags, and meta data. Image sharing sites - Distribute images related to the client and again ensure proper meta data is utilized. Press Releases - Distribute press releases.
