Is constant contact a good source for seo links? how about best of the web? Is tweet angels a smart move? anybody got a good list of strong DA and PA link companies you can do business with and also get strong follow links from? thanks...
Hi Ben! Hard as it is to hear, you're really not likely to make much headway with links like that, rankings-wise. Directories really just don't have the value they once did, and it'd be pretty clear to the search engines that links from, say, Constant Contact aren't exactly "organic." That doesn't mean they'd _hurt _you, necessarily; it just means they're not likely to do you a lot of good. It certainly takes longer, but you and your clients will be much better-served through organic link building. I'd recommend reading the Beginner's Guide to Link Building if you haven't already. It's a great place to start.

Are there plans for Moz to track social activity for LinkedIN Company Pages any time soon?
Hi Dave, Unfortunately we don't have any plans to integrate with/track LinkedIn data due to how difficult it is to integrate with Moz. I'll pass this along as feedback to our Product team though so we can continue tracking this request. You mentioned on tool that can help monitor your linked in data but another option to look into is Raventools as well. They should hopefully be able to help out here.

Managing Multiple Instagram Accounts
Hi Gavo, There are others out there but I like Latergram.me for scheduling posts. For research, Iconosquare. You can also follow and unfollow there. For actually using the profiles, we do it the old school way, buy cheap smart phones for each one. LOL. I haven't heard of any app that can handle all the functions of instagrams. I've seen and tried everything. From bots to custom software. Haven't seen a good one yet

Is this mistake in use of 'publisher' meta tag
If it is a personal blog, it is a correct way of implementing those meta tags, as publisher and author is the same. If it is a site with several authors, I would change the publisher TAG so that it starts pointing your Google+ page, and the author tag pointing to your profiles. So you will benefit of both tags.

Will Facebook traffic hurt our SEO? Should we put our blog on the core domain or sub domain?
Mark said: "People looking through the SERPs are searching to rent an RV, while traffic from facebook is coming from RV owners who see a blog post about RVs that interests them." Let's finish that thought. Traffic coming from Facebook are RV owners who see a blog post about RVs. But they land on a site that rents RVs so they don't need anything. Is that true? Don't RV rental businesses also sell RVs? And don't they sell equipment? You've brought them in on a topic of interest (RVs), now you can acquaint them with your store. You already know they are your target market. That's a good thing. Your job now is to make sure your presentation is inviting. Assume they are owners (or renters). Can you put an offer on that page, perhaps a download of the best RV spots in your state, or maybe a link to a blog post that lists "10 things no RV should be without" for the owners and those happen to be the things you sell. We're doing a lot of blogging now for an attorney client, and traffic has nearly doubled as a result. Like you, I see traffic come and go, but that is normal for blogs given the reasons mentioned in other comments here. But I'm also seeing that a percentage of those coming from Facebook are repeat visitors and that some of those visitors go to the home page, then the about page, then our main service page. That's exactly what I want. And because I'm boosting those posts in my client's local area, I'm happy because those might be his clients one day. We're building brand awareness so that when the time comes that any one of those or any one of their friends need an attorney, hopefully they'll know who to call or refer. I like to think we're priming the pump.

Looking for any feedback on my brand/site
Thanks for the response. I actually see 38 and 45. Not sure why there is that slight difference. I also am not really sure how to fix many of these issues. It says to minify my JS and to enable compression. I have done both of these things for resources within my control. It lists urls like http://s3.amazonaws.com/…/css/signup-forms/popup/1.0/layout-1.css (expiration not specified) How do I fix a css file that is from a third party source? Are there any other things that you see? I know speed is obviously a factor, but I do not believe that can be the only thing holding the site back. In regards to site design, mobile friendliness, etc I actually have one of the more efficient sites out of my biggest competitors. I got my desktop score up to 73. Mobile for whatever reason refuses to budge..

How to use Social backlinks in SEO.
Hi there I am going to echo Martijn's question here - it's kind of hard to follow what you mean. For me, making sure information on your social profiles are up to date, correct, and verified helps search engines connect information back to your brand's online presence. If you want to track the performance of your social platforms you can take a look at Social Analytics, tagged URLs for posts, Buzzsumo for performance and competitor research, and Followerwonk for Twitter analytics. I would also make sure you learn more about Facebook Insights and Google+ Insights so you can learn more about your performance on those platforms. Again, you're not using social for link building, you're using social to build brand awareness and engage directly with your target audience. You're humanizing your brand. Hope this helps a bit! Good luck!

Why does someone's FB page rank so highly?
This, in my opinion, is the BIGGEST flaw with Google's algorithm right now. In order to beat back spam, Google gives heavy preference to high authority domains. That's why you see the SERPs dominated by brands right now. If you Google "brown boots", you'll notice each of the top results has little to NO links pointing to that page, but a HUGE overall domain authority. SEOs are taking advantage of this loophole right now. Because properties like Facebook, Yelp, YouTube, SlideShare, etc have so much trust and equity built up with Google, you can spam the HELL out of them and not get penalized. And even if you do get penalized, it's really no skin off your back because it's just a social profile. No one was finding it through Google before so it doesn't matter if they can't find it in the future. I rank a ton of YouTube videos and SlideShare documents with really crappy gigs on Fiverr. Low quality social bookmarks, cheap web 2.0s and old school spam link wheels work really well. All the garbage is essentially filtered out by the high authority of the domain. P.S. You can't find the links with OSE because the link index is only updated once a month, and even at that, OSE's link indexer is pretty sub par. This response was written by Ryan Stewart.

Main Site Social Media SEO impact on different product specific site
Hi Ira, Thanks for your response, indeed the social profiles are related to the microsite, as at the end the minisite is just a category of the promotional products that I have on the main site, So that part should be fine. I like your idea of promoting the minisite also on the social profiles of the main site that is something that I have not done so far, so I will try that out. Let's see if this way I can get more traffic to minisite also, that gives more information and images about the products and where I have higher conversion rate. Thanks again for your help! Oriol .

Is onlywire a Black hat solution to be avoid it?
Yes, having social bookmarking as your only strategy will not yield great results (probably just waste your time) but doing it as part of a larger promotional strategy helps you get a boost in rankings + is viewed by member of those bookmark sites. You get found by more people quicker which helps the promotion > engagement > rankings cycle start. (e.g. if you rank page 1 for one of your services, you are more likely to be found and link to/talked about.

Are Facebook ads a waste of money?
Hello Joshua, Well, I think your Facebook Ads campaigns need probably a deep study to understand what is working or not (I mean, maybe what you think is not working is not the main issue). Some quick questions in the air: What's the goal of your Facebook Ads campaigns? How much is your monthly/daily budget for this? What's your product? In London you have 37% of the population from out of the UK (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_groups_in_London). To be honest, I guess a lot of people in London speak both English and a foreign language (and have set this in Facebook settings), so your segmentation is wide and is including all these people. If you really want to exclude these users try this solution: Create an audience (Aud1) to target all the people you DON'T want: people who speak Polish, Romanian, Russian, etc.). Create a second audience and exclude the previous audience (Aud2) from your Facebook Ads campaigns. Good luck !

Can we create regional pages on Facebook?
Actually you may think in building a Global page on Facebook. As you can read in the page I linked, with Global Pages: Each brand's Global Pages structure will include local Pages for specific markets (single- or multi-country regions) and a default Page for all other markets. More details on this new framework: One global brand identity. Users from all countries will see the same Page name (translated into their local language), fan count, and People Talking About This (PTAT). One URL. Brands can promote a single URL in all off-Facebook campaigns, and users will be automatically directed to the best version of the Page for them. Global insights. Admins of the main Page will see insights for all global users in one easy-to-view dashboard. The problem is that the requirement really are for strong global brands, as you can see in detail in this post. Honestly, I looked a lot into the Facebook Business pages and I was not able to see an explicit link for creating a global page. So, I consider right what some experts say that you have to contact Facebook directly via email. However, if your brand is global, but not with such a big budget so to afford a Global Brand Page, then the only solution is creating as many regional Brand pages as you need. This is very easy. Just create a page normally, but then indicate in the creation process the region your Page targets for each regional pages.

Facebook News Feed - Proximity as a Factor?
Hi Dave I am willing to bet it's extremely likely, especially if Facebook takes notice that you are (or were) at the same event in the same location or if that event is trending amongst your peers. Also, if your connection posts about it or something closely related, the post will more than likely make it to your news feed because you care about that topic in Facebook's eyes. Keep in mind, if you engage with these people more during or since the event, you're more likely to see their posts. Here's more information from Facebook. I would take a look at Buffer's Inside the Facebook News Feed. It's continuously updated, has a great comments section, and is filled with a lot of factors and potential factors in their algorithms. Also, Single Grain has a great resource. Hope this helps! Have a good day!
