Facebook Share Percentage - On Blog Posts
Hello! I think Dmitrii's response on this is quite valid, these metrics will vary across industries. Here is a post that does a good job of facilitating an answer to the basic question of how to define post engagement benchmarks. http://simplymeasured.com/blog/facebook-engagement-rate/ From what I've read about Facebook engagement rates it seems that for pages with under 10k likes the average is around 1%. For more popular pages it would seem that the average engagement rates only go down from there... Whatever you end up defining as the metric ratio you want to track, the average/benchmark will be derived from past posts and how well they have performed with the same engagement definition.

Should UK websites expect any benefit from using Google+?
Thanks Rand! I don't know many, well any, people in America so I couldn't work out whether G+ was a runaway success over there compared to here in the UK. But what you say makes total sense in regards to the communities that are heavily used.

Blog keywords for wordpress/duplicate keywords an issue?
The keywords meta tag doesn't really do anything, so there's no need to even use it. The description tag isn't used as a ranking factor anymore, so you should use that space to craft a message that will entice users to click through from the search result. You may still want to use the target keyword of the post in the description, to reinforce to users that the post is about what they're looking for. If you're using an SEO WordPress plugin that has you enter a specific keyword for the page so it can tell you how well the page is optimized for that term, the best way to figure out what keywords to target for each blog post is to do some research around what that post is about. You can also do it the other way - do some keyword research to find topics that users might be interested in that you'd like to create some blog posts about.

I have two Facebook Pages connected to the same website. Is there a way to tell in Google Analytics which Facebook Page is responsible for what referral traffic?
Here is the link to the page which explains the URL parameters you can use. It also has a form generator to help you create your tracked links. URL Builder Set your campaign source to be either one of your FB pages to help differentiate them.

Google+ and youTube
Hello LoonyToons! Yes, unfortunately there is a one to one relationship between YouTube and Google+ accounts. I have a few tricks that might work; however, I'm not certain that these will work for a business page. I'd recommend looking to see if these options are also available for your pages. Links go to relevant Google documentation. You can hide a personal Google Profile in the settings menu under the 'Profile' heading. You can also hide a Google Profile by adjusting 'Target Audience' under the settings menu of G+ under the Audience heading. Select Custom under the drop-down menu and change the global setting to No one. The previous link also explains what 'hidden' means. Google states in their documentation that these setting changes do not change the way in which spiders behave so they will still crawl your content and it can be found in search. These just help to minimize exposure. To my knowledge there is no way to get around this issue. That being said, if I were fighting for a single YouTube channel here are some questions that I'd want answered: Will these YouTube channels have different, unique content? Which channel will be the 'Primary' channel that is tied to the 'Primary' Google+ Page? Will the channel that is only used for advertising purposes attract subscribers? If not, why not leverage the news subscribers? (I don't think they do, but if they mean AdWords advertising, I'd be curious as to why they want a dedicated channel.) Obviously I do not know that the details of your exact situation, but I hope this helps out a bit. Try this out and let me know if it works for you! If not, reply to this comment and I'll see if I can help anymore. Best of luck, Trenton

Google Plus page - keep or delete?
You need to keep it for local SEO. Although Google has decided this is a separate product now, its role will certainly change in the future. They have already made changes to the Google Plus app If the listing has good customer reviews, I would not delete it. There are brand pages aside from local pages. It really depends on how this was set up. Brand page or local? You should be able to transition it. See this article as a reference. http://localu.org/blog/google-now-allows-brand-pages-become-local-pages/

Links to Social Media accounts, rel=nofollow/follow and rel=me
I'd recommend linking to all your own properties using rel="me". You can see the tag in common usage on Twitter and Instagram profiles, where the user's website link is tagged using rel="me". You can basically connect up all your online properties as belonging to the same person/brand/entity - and who wouldn't want that. You're indicating to Google that all those webpages are related to you. By linking to your social profiles from your website using rel="me", you're confirming that those profiles are officially yours.

How to make this informational site successful
Option 1 - If you want to reach out to the mainstream - Tier your information out. I have a site that is meant for the general public on a given health issue. If you have the health professionals write the articles, they are way too technical for the general public, but it is information that the public needs (and ultimately wants). We hired a journalist/editor to work with editors on writing things that go on the everyday blog type items and social media. The health professionals give input into the topics etc, but we let the journalist/editor do the writing. The articles are fact checked to make sure that they are accurate, but we try not to edit too much. We then have a second level of content that is more advanced and is really the reference section of the site. When topics get too complex for the blog, we link to the reference articles if they need to read more. It is a classic hub and spoke type setup, but we find it works for blog vs reference type of articles. On the reference articles, we do get a little more technical, some more than others. We do not feel that this is "dumbing it down" per se, but making it more accessible. Option 2 - If you only care about the experts, play to that niche and see if you can find topics that may have low search volume, convert really well. Give the site more of an exclusive feel to it. You actually may be surprised at how "non-experts" want to find and read that information. If you layered this in with Option 1, you could hit both audiences potentially. Good luck!

Social Media Causing Duplicate Content
Hi Jacob! Dirk is absolutely right—the Duplicate Content notice in Crawl Diagnostics indicates that our crawler is fining those instances of duplicate content on your site. As he suggests, I'd definitely recommend using the CSV to figure out which pages are showing up as duplicates. This video may help.

Best way to optimize a real estate subdivision video
No google cannot pick up your voice (or not that we know about!). Here is a great link to have a look at. https://moz.com/blog/building-a-video-seo-strategy I think the answer you looking for though is transcription of your video. If you look at each WBF - Moz transcribe the video and it is beneath the video. google will crawl the written content and that facilitates best seo practices. iframes are nasty for google to crawl so video is a tough one. This is still one of my favourite WBF's and it deals with video. Have a look, I am sure it will set you on the right path. https://moz.com/blog/panda-optimization-whiteboard-friday Hope that assists.

What's your preference - regurgitate content on social media or just post it the once?
Tweets have such a short shelf life that it is worth posting a few times for really great content, to make sure you reach the maximum audience. To avoid annoying your followers, try: Posting at different times, on different days to reach people via their behaviour (ie some people will always check twitter over breakfast, others when they're bored in the afternoon. We tend to be people of habit. Consider time zones if you have an international audience). Look at your content and think of a new angle for it. Try writing 3 different titles for it, for example - and then each of those headlines essentially becomes its own tweet. Use different types of media - try one text-only tweet, one image-only tweet, one combination of the two.

Social Media / Articles
Greetings! Sounds like you have done some good already done and plenty of work ahead of you. Looking at your plan, I have a few suggestions that may help. 1. On your articles, consider creating a how-to or demonstration video to go along with the articles. This will give you video content to go along with the blog that you can optimize separately and will make that article more "sticky". 2. I'd also consider something tangible people can download to accompany each article, like a guide, checklist, diagram, infographic or something else of value. Keep it short, like 1-2 pages at the most, and put your branding and contact info all over it. The more graphical the better to increase the sharability on social media. 3. In addition to homepage links to social sites, I'd consider them on every page. I'd also add social sharing buttons to your blog to make sharing the content easier for users. 4. At the end of your articles, suggest one or more products that tie in with the article as a call to action. Even stronger, offer a discount or bundled offer. 5. An outreach campaign to potential influencers can really boost your social media marketing efforts both now and long term. Find some bloggers or journalists, and start interacting with them in social media or even directly in email. I regularly solicit input and link to content of influencers, creating good will. That often turns into then doing the same in return, giving my great links and mentions in their content. That's 5 quick suggestions. I'm sure there is some more good input from the group. Best of luck!

Will posting an article from my website to LinkedIn mean its duplicate content?
Hi Patrick, Thank you for your answer. You make complete sense. There is the risk it ranks higher than the actual blog post, but I think as long as it links to the original location I should be fine. Thanks!

Is it possible for a twitter user to automate a response to a tweet that I marked as a favorite?
What you could do is check how the message was sent to the user by what connection. It could say for example that it was using a Chrome Browser or another application who supports this.
