Livestreaming Events
Hi Laurel, It really depends on the quality you want of the live stream. It can be incredibly difficult to get a great live stream for a high-quality event. That is the primary reason that we don't do live streams for MozCon is because we'd greatly have to up our budget and amount of a/v people to keep the MozCon-quality. You also want to take in consideration of how many people are there and how big the room is. What kind of experience do you want to have? Who are they paying attention to? For small events, Usestream or even a G+ hangout/event can work well. You'll get the best audio and video if there's a microphone plugged in to the live streaming system and a video camera focused directly where you need it to be. I'm a big fan of outsourcing the a/v and bringing in a professional. Especially since it sounds like you have lots of other things on your plate. Taking care of a/v is a full-time job at an event.

How do I merge a google+ and a youtube account?
Hopefully the situation is already resolved, but having recently had to do this for both clients and my own projects... First, make sure that the email address used for your Youtube account is added as a manager to the G+ page you want to be linked in the future. You then need to go into Youtube settings and click on the option to DIsconnect from Google+. This will remove the link to the unwanted page - it takes about 20 minutes plus for the change to take effect across Google+ and Youtube. You can then go to Advanced under the Name section of the Youtube Settings and click to link your desired Google+ page. I'd recommend checking everything is all working, then finally go back into Google+ with your original Youtube email address and delete the now extraneous and unwanted page.

Google negatively affect the positions in the Bing.
Hey Unigenitus! Something else must be causing the drops in BING. I can't imagine it has anything to do with acquiring links from G+

Videos perform poorly on facebook...why?
Hi Noah, There could be many reasons for your videos not being played. Unfortunately with Facebook engagement, it's somewhat of a Catch-22 in that the more engagement you get, the more people Facebook shows the post to get more engagement. This can be very frustrating. Your videos could not be showing because your past videos hadn't gotten any engagement. Facebook should show you how many people have seen your post and then how many have engaged with it. One thing to know about it is that Facebook had some errors in its engagement numbers in June. If your followers are seeing the posts, but not watching the videos, then it's likely for whatever reason your videos aren't resonating with your audience. Some things to consider: Who are your videos aimed at? Are they the right tone for that demographic? Are they too sales driven? Are the videos you sharing widely available elsewhere? Did they already see them in other places? Have you considered user-generated videos to engaged the audience with itself? Hope this gives you a good start.

Will subtitling Youtube video Be worthwhile?
We typically encourage our clients to caption any video they put on the web. I do not know the exact metrics to SEO rank jumping based on captions vs non-captions. That could be a experiment for Moz and their lab. In my experience though, it's a benefit beyond just the simple SEO. It's about general accessibility. 1st off, Google will try and auto caption your video whether you want them to or not. Typically it does an absolutely horrible job. So if someone is trying to watch your video with captions, it may make little to no sense. 2nd, Google will take those captions and translate them into any language it needs. Much like a bad game of telephone, we have found that bad translations just keep getting worse as google auto translates them. 3rd, it's been mentioned a few times that google does in fact scrape and index captions. They are what tells google what your video is about because Google doesn't have the AI intelligence to watch and understand. At least not until it goes full skynet and takes over. Here are a few links that may help. http://moz.com/blog/hosting-and-embedding-for-video-seo http://www.reelseo.com/youtube-closed-captions-seo/ http://www.3playmedia.com/2014/01/10/future-accessibility-video-captions-according-google-youtube/ On an implementation note, there are a few different ways to ease the burden. If it's script based it's easily upload-able yourself. While youtube is fairly awful at understanding, it can listen and align pretty well. If we have a script we simple copy and paste and are good to go. Hire out a professional transcription subtitle person. We do these on large scale projects. They transcribe and send us a nice and clean .srt file that we upload directly to youtube. Errand services. I have had friends that use services like Task Rabbit to hire out people to do the work. Never underestimate the power of 50 bucks when someone can type up a few things from home while sitting in their underwear. INTERNS! I'm sure nothing pleases an intern more than to sit in a dark room transcribing video all day long. I'm fairly positive it's what they live for... at least that's what are interns say when we are not forcing them to battle to the death with nerf swords.

Hi! The same function you have on twitter ( how you can see their flooewrs) do you have it for blogs?
Hi there, thanks for your question? However, I am not exactly sure what you are asking. Are you wondering if Moz a tool similar to Followerwonk that analyzes blog subscribers?

Is it important for SEO that YouTube and Google + be used under the same Google Account?
It kind of makes sense to include it on 1 account. I notice Google is trying to get users to consolidate google accounts now (if you have a few google accounts you'll notice the: what account do you want to login with option) Definitely stick to 1 brand 1 Google account (for youtube and G+) This works out well when using G+

How important is Google Plus - Specifically for B2B Small Businesses?
"Matt Cutts of Google responded to this thread on Hacker News to imply +1s aren't used directly in Google's algorithm. While I take Matt at his word that Google doesn't use raw +1s to rank webpages, the evidence seems to suggest Google+ posts do pass other SEO benefits not found easily in other social platforms. If this is not the case, I'm hoping Google will clarify. Mark Traphagen said it best in this comment: It is not the +1's themselves that are causing the high rankings of posts but the fact that most +1's on a site result in a shared post on Google+, which creates a followed link back to the post. It's instant organic link building. The point is not to go out and accumulate a bunch of +1s.The point is, and the evidence seems to suggest, that_earning a link on Google+ is like earning any other type of editorial link_, and these links have actual value with real benefits." I would try and use Google Plus but not put a lot of effort in getting the actual +1s. If you do any sort of content marketing on your website Google Plus is a really quick way to get it indexed.

Social Media: Industry with no apparent engagement?
Thanks guys. That was where I was leaning. Social media is tough. I don't want to give up on it because it's such a huge pool of data that there has to be SOMETHING there. At the same time, I personally would NEVER go to facebook/twitter/instagram to look for rehab. If I was drunk or hungover that's the last thing I would do. However, it's just too big to be ignored. It does provide a nice place to expand our community with professionals and potential referrals, which in the long run, does help. Thanks

Is there an SEO benefit/drawback to streaming social media to your site?
Hi Ruben, There are no negatives to streaming content like this (G+, Facebook or Twitter) that we are aware of, although it isn't likely that these will be seen as "constantly updated content", especially due to how some of these feeds are coded. Often, they use iframes or similar that don't actually show Google's bots what is in the streamed box: Google just sees that there is a Twitter widget or similar on the site. For other types of streaming, Google can read and index the content but will still absolutely understand that it comes from a third party. That said, good social interaction is a good sign (although not a confirmed "ranking factor") and thus can be considered a positive.

Best Facebook content to share?
That's interesting as all of my pages see the opposite. Straight text gets minimal results for me.

Is Moz really able to track G+ properly
Great, It would be nice to see 'page views' as trackable metric. I will check out those tools you mentioned to see if it will bring that data in. We have launched a cross platform promotion and are tracking it by the seat of our pants! James

Pinterest and cloud hosting
You could consider using a different CDN set up. You could use something like MaxCDN and host them locally and in the cloud. That way you would have direct access to the images on your server as well for pinning and other social media purposes.
