  • This is the right answer and essentially what we did. All the "event scanning" companies must be doing well given the fees and piece of the action they take. I had to laugh a couple of times. I appreciate your answer even if it was late. Robert

  • As long as google can crawl the text the same weight will be applied as if it was out of accordions. But you should make sure that google can in fact crawl the text by using Fetch as Google on your Webmaster Tools account. http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=158587

  • Yep I can most definitely change it up. But even if I switch it up a bit, wont Google realize that on about 60 pages, I'm just rewording the same thing? This is what raises my question... because it seems a lot like what the article spinners would do. Even though that's not what I'm doing.

  • I would suggest to stay away from any host that uses the word "Unlimited". There's nothing called Unlimited. Cheap Hosting Plans with Unlimited Space, Unlimited Bandwidth are crap. Once your website starts getting popular, it will use CPU time and when that happens, they will shut down the accounts. I am a fan of ASO - ASmallOrange.com

  • I agree with Tom that this is much of a business question if anything.  You need to ask yourself, what site has the best content and what site do you think that customers will go to first. If you want to you can create, buypropertyanywhere.com and use each country as a subdomain or mini-page for example buypropertyanywhere.com/usa, buypropertyanywhere.com/bulgaria, buyproperty.com/china.

  • This question is really site specific. I've recently had to deal with a similar issue after our new website was put live a little ahead of when we would have liked it to be. There might be a few things you can do: Robots txt disallow all archive pages, De-duplicate any duplicate content on pages (SEOMoz will tell you which ones) Check the image below, with some hard work it is possible to get the errors down to 0! • Sorry for the late response, but you should also check out Breezi, as it meets all of your requirements and then some (and yes, I'm from Breezi, so I'm biased of course). WordPress is a good platform as well, but the drawback is that you'll likely spend a lot of time in theme customizations, installing plugins, etc. We have a limited number of pre-designed themes currently, but we'll be ramping up over the next few weeks and adding a lot more. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions!

  • It is probably not as valuable to you because you know what to check for.  You probably now that the results you get from WordPress with a typical theme and now SEO plugins is not ideal, so you know what to look for in an SEO plugin.  I think there are a lot of positive feelings about Thesis because it is stylable and does a decent job with SEO matters. I think there are some good SEO plugins that can make any WordPress site have solid SEO. Here is what I look for: Number one thing you need is something to rewrite those titles and descriptions, Number two: handle canonicalization, Number three noindex on archives (usually).

  • I recently took on the task of performing SEO on a several hunded page Joomla site.  It is truly a nightmare to work on compared to WordPress. Joomla may have come a long way - but it has miles to go.  I recommend against this platform for anyone who cares about SEO.

  • Good point regarding the many links with the same anchor pointing to different pages. We use a WP Plugin to add those links. I should look at changing that. Thanks!

  • Bligoo, So my understanding is that you're interested in creating a used car site, however the debate is whether to use auto in the URL or have something completely else, and have other URL's that do have Auto pointing to your website. Well my first instinct is that it's harder to link build and SEO/create multiple websites than one.  Plus you just can't create a website and 301 in it, you're going to have to link build for it especially if the SERPs have tons of "auto" related results.  Also if you just use these websites as, spammy websites to redirect to your Auto website Google might catch on and blacklist both them and your primary website. I would go with something in the Auto name, especially if you're going to be a completely online company. However, before you do anything you need to ask yourself: Is Auto in the name really worth it?  Why don't you just create good content, that people can find and use? Why the keyword auto?  Why not something longtail such as "Auto Reseller" or  "Auto buyer", that might prove to be more beneficial.  What other words do people use when buying used automobiles? 3) Are you going to be a local business as well?  If so you might want to make something more user friendly? Do you guys already have a local business in place?  If so why don't you use it and it's word of mouth? As always, I hope this answers your question.

  • I would agree with Aran, show all your content first then hide it in the page load event. I wouldn't actually comment out the content, I would rather use "display:none" on the container div. Showing and hiding content sections with AJAX is very common these days so it shouldn't be a problem, provided it's done correctly.

  • Google specifically states that having a single site that responds to mobile versus desktop (aka - 'responsive design') will help you just as much. Plus, you won't have to build two sites. http://www.seroundtable.com/google-mobile-seo-official-15264.html
