Any advice on Umbraco builds?
In Umbraco you have total control over you html, meta tags, page names etc. so there's not anything that should cause you SEO issues. You may find this link interesting though, there are a few packages you can install to make life easier. http://blog.mattbrailsford.com/2010/07/15/10-essential-umbraco-packages-for-seo/

How important are tags on blogs?
Thanks for the response. I usually no-indexed the tag archives so that they won't be crawled.

Need help in website URL Structure
Hi M8, Frankly - I wouldn't worry about that one! Newer saw Google's friendly url's being penalized for putting twice the same word in url's! As far I concern - if you will do everything correctly regarding your content - you will enjoy only benefits from your present url's structure! Good luck! Jungles

Avoiding duplicate content with multi-lagusage site
First, good move by client to not use translation plug in IMO. So, you have a Chinese site in Chinese and you are adding English and Korean or, it is a new venture? (server question made me think this). Good question on server hosting. The answer is based on what all you want to accomplish: Is the site to be a multi lingual site, multi regional sit, or both? If you are wanting to be multi regional then your client is wanting to rank in Baidu for China, Naver - Korea, and Google US/UK/AU, etc. Or, for multi lingual, you could be just looking to sell to disparate people living in China. For both, you get the pic. HERE Is a great GWT link for setup of domains/sub domains/directories, etc Note this has an excellent table further down. Avoiding duplicate content can be accomplished multiple ways and Google has made some real strides with the use of rel-alternate-hreflang link elements So, you have a bit of reading, but if you can supply a few answers, we can help you out. All the best,

Getting ranked on google
When you have competitiors that are a more well known and have a bigger budget than you..... you just need to come up with alternative keywords that are less competitive. Think synonyms. By targeting a small niche you will get a better result than trying to compete for more competitive terms that your competitors already dominate. Would also suggest releasing some positive PR. A newsworthy press release, eg. about a specific area/suburb that you have listings in will get you a good ranking in Google and link people back to your site. There are a lot of newswires out there but I find Ireland to be a tough market in general so rather than starting with the 'big/expensive' newswires I would test how much coverage you get with these.... Should the parent directory of the main site-navigation be clickable or not?!?
I would be considering the content the parent category could have, if for example the parent category content is not to dissimilar from that of the child pages then, perhaps it does not need to be a page in its own right, however, if the content provides an overview for the children pages of the category it might then be useful to be a page. Either way, I think consistency one way or the other is key here. I Hope I have not caused any confusion

Still too many internal links reported on page
That's great thank you. I don't want to get hung up on building a website which is good for Google, I want a website which is good for users, but of course I want to get as much benefit from Google as possible. One aspect cutting out nearly 300 links has had is the site loads faster, which is good for users, so a great benefit there. Thanks again.

Keywords in the page url for best SEO
Hello Maurizio, I have one doubt concernig SEo optimization as I am buiding the structure of my sebsite: 1. I have read that the post/page name is very importante (selecting the right keywords you are targeting and the lenght. And also the url path name. (Keywords+length) My question would be concerning the keyword strategy to target both Page/post name and url name, I still have the doubt if (Imagine I am considering 5 keywords for SEO.): OPTION 1 I should use as far as it is possible, the 5 keywords in the post/page title and the 5 same keywords in the url path, OR OPTION 2I should use these 5 keywords spread between title and url path? I mean maybe I use 3 keywords in the post/page name and 2 keywords in the url path, but as search engines gives more weight in SEO for post/page name, maybe I miss 2 of the keywords I used in the url path name. I would prefer to use OPTION 2 as I can have: Shorter post/page name Shorter url path name. More caracters for targeting the keywords: 75 (from post/page name) + 115 (from url path name). I avoid repetition of keywords in both title and url path. Thank you very much, Antonio

Website URL Structures - Which does Google prefer or does it matter?
Thanks CMC! Others I have discussed with said it doesn't matter and that their is no "preferred" structure. One person said: Google uses urls only at the spidering stage and then reintroduces them when composing the SERPs but the "machine" does not use them at all - your pages are known by an internal number, not the url. As long as the urls are easily spiderable the urls do not matter

Im having duplicate content issues in wordpress
Install WordPress SEO and you can update the SEO page title and description for every one of your pages. Here's a link: http://yoast.com/wordpress/seo/ If you don't understand how, Yoast has an FAQ here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/faq/ I suggest reading up on it and using it to solve these problems. It's very quick to set up and easy to use.
