Canonical reference links are the preferred technique for this. If you do nothing, very likely the search engines will decide for you which variations of your pages to index, and the selection may not be ideal. If an index page can be filtered many different ways, the unfiltered version should be referenced as the canonical on each, and a self-referencing canonical link should also be specified on the unfiltered version. You don't really yet want to disallow the crawling of the refinement paths, because without canonicals implemented, you might very well do more harm than good, finding important pages getting de-indexed. If at some point in the future you find that all the URLs from the refinement paths have been disappeared from the index, and your desired pages are all indexed properly, then at that future date you might want to disallow crawling of the refinement paths (in your robots.txt file). But, not yet, IMO.

Thank you for the response. We have been watching over the past week and there has been a very small change in the number of indexed urls in  GSC and no change in the stats on the  MOZ dashboard. Is that normal? How often does MOZ update the stats?

In response to question 1, yes but you should also include your root as the "X-Default" hreflang (https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077?hl=en). In respoonse to question 2, yes but the problem with this approach is that you will not be able to target the root domain, otherwise it will impact all your subdirectories too. So, you'll have to leave the root domain untargeted. There are pros/cons, but this is one of the cons of using subdirectories instead of subdomains.

I agree.  Get Hemingway or Grammerly and rewrite from scratch without looking at the original.

Brand names are best it helps to improve stats when your customers directly recognize you I have been building my e-commerce site for over 5 years and finally, my brand name Ajmal is recognized by my targeted audience.

It's not so simple really to just go by numbers created by MOZ or A hrefs, as nobody really knows what google maintains as a standard in a situation like this. The less outgoing links on a page or domain, the more powerfull a link on that same page or domain would be.

"Should the area landing pages be child pages and the web design be the parent?" Child in which sense? In the nav? in the site flow? In both scenarios, it's completely up to you. Depends on what UX do you want users to have. "less juice" - again, in what sense? backlinks? the structure has nothing to do with it - external or internal links. Traffic? That'll depend on rankings and other marketing promos.

There's a setting for google in that. You can target it's country for example.  Login into google.com/webmasters/ , make sure the site is added & verified in there, then head to Legacy Tools and Reports > International targetting > Hit tab Country and select the country from there. It might take some time (days, weeks) to be in full effect, you might lose some clicks but you'll get the targetted audience your looking for.
