  • Yes, as the redirect is something that you handle outside of the SSL certificate.

  • Update: I checked the rel=next/prev tags in Screaming Frog and they are not implemented correctly. The homepage is identified in all rel=next/prev tags. Not good. I'm thinking I'll scrap my rel=next/prev efforts and try a view all option with a canonical tag.

  • Will do. I'm not expecting much. Maybe a slight bump for products.

  • Hi, it is hard to tell because I do not know the URL of the site so cant look at anything really. It appears to be a security certificate error and may have to do with an SSL Handshake Exception. I would ask the developer to make sure that the Certificate and everything on the site is set correctly to use the certificate. Here is a link to a Stackoverflow.com article on that error message. If you go a Google search for that error it can be caused by many different things I hope this helps. Best Regards

  • Hello  cerednicenko, You should implement what's best for your audience and visitors. As you are saying it it's fine, there no need to implement the internationalization in just one gTLD and subfolder, there is other way: using ccTLD for each country. Always using hreflang tags to tell Google that are alternate pages. Here a few resources to help you more: Hreflang generator - Aleyda Solis International SEO - Moz Learning Center The Guide to International Website Expansion: Hreflang, ccTLDs, & More! - Moz Blog The International SEO Checklist - Moz Blog Best Luck! • Hi Andy, I like to promote people making more content that is relevant to their business. I always feel that Google likes sites better when they have fresh content. Also, large sites can tend to get more backlinks to the various pages and categories. PageRank is still very important in ranking well. You can try to segregate your content into separate sections for the major categories of your content and then branch out to all of your categories. For example, if I was writing about cars that would be a top category, and then maybe I would have a subsection for each manufacturer like Ford, Audi, General Motors, and the list goes on. Then I could break the categories down by model for each manufacturer. Then under models, I could have 4 door or 2 door models. The list could keep going almost forever. Google will understand the structure and give every level in the tree PageRank and authority for its major topic. Because PageRank is generated for all of those pages and as long as they are linked correctly all the way back up to the main index page the whole site should be relevant and move up in the rankings. Remember you can control the flow of energy by using internal links using specific "Anchor Text" to further control the meaning and relevance of your links. This would be considered "PageRank Sculpting" by most people and is still effective if done correctly. Try to create highly targeted and relevant content to attract "High Value" links to your internal pages. Also, outreach to relevant sites can help get powerful links that will boost you up in the rankings. Here are a couple links to articles regarding PageRank that may be of interest to you. • Hi Jeremy, Sounds frustrating, have you submitted feedback for this result? If you do so, you can specify that the name is not correct and provide the accurate name. I've just submitted that feedback myself for you, I recommend you and DK Pittsburgh Sports provide the same feedback. At this point, there just seem to be a lot of signals indicating this is the brand name. Anchor text of links to the site (including the old domain which is redirecting here), online mentions using "DK on Pittsburgh Sports" (example #1) and company listings that still say "DK On Pittsburgh Sports (example). There are several years worth of content and links out there that indicate the brand is DK on Pittsburgh Sports. I think this is going to take time but you should focus on acquiring quality links using the current brand name as anchor text, seek out online company listings using the old name to update and even request that old articles be updated with the new brand name. Claim and verify your location in Google My Business and make sure that links to the current website (using the correct company name). I also suggest modifying your 'organization' schema to include the name field (current markup does not include that) and update the 'name' field in your website schema to "DK Pittsburgh Sports" as it currently reads "DKPittsburghSports.com". Hope this helps!

  • I would give it a couple weeks and let google fully recrawl and rerank the pages. This is not uncommon to see rank drops after an https migration but they are usually short lived. How are you monitoring the ranking of these keywords?

  • Hi Christy, My question is following : I am wondering if sentences with the “you" as the subject such as the one below are any helpful to rank ?Or if the ones that only count (in the eyes of google) are the ones that have my entity / keyword or related keywords as subjects.Let’s say I want to rank on "Burgundy bike tour"Is having Burgundy, cyclist, bike tour, route, Dijon, wine as a subject in a few of my sentence better than for example having "you "as a subject ? or is the "you" counted in some way if the sentence is well constructed. For example : "It’s not every day you get to taste world-class wine at its source."Subject is “you”Predicate is “get”Object is "to taste world-class  wine at its source”Does this sentence which is well constructed have any value for the keyword "Burgundy bike tour"By the way if my subject in a sentence is the pronoun "it" does it count in any way also ?Thank you,

  • When we changed domains, I moved several thousand posts, all at once—I don't know of any reason to throttle that. Our organic traffic is up 174% since then, so it definitely didn't hurt anything. (I am assuming that you will be setting up the appropriate redirects and Google will know that this is just a domain change.)
