Guest Post - What to reply when blogger ask for $$ to post a content?
Hey Varunrupal, Great question and something that anyone doing outreach runs into from time to time. This is a bit of a sticky situation. Guest posting is against Google's Guidelines, and paying for a guest post is doubly so. So I would encourage you to reply with a polite reply thanking them for their time. Then move on and continue your outreach with other potential bloggers. That said, I think if a blogger is wanting compensation for a post I would encourage you to change your offer to be a bit more appealing. If you can structure the outreach in a way that creates tangible value for the blogger or their readers, you're more likely to gain some traction without the need for monetary compensation. Make your value add the compensation. Let me know if you have any other questions on this! Regards, Trenton

What should I include in disavow file and/or reconsideration request?
Hey KentH – it's such a pain to deal with linking penalties, and I'm sorry you're facing that now. Onto your problem: Google definitely prefers that you make the request of the linking website's webmaster to remove the link to your site, or at least add a "nofollow" attribute to their link (pointing to your site). That said, they understand that it's not always possible to accomplish that. Here's what I recommend: First, reach out to the webmaster/host of the website (you can find this by looking up their domain on WhoIs) Then, if they respond and have "resolved" the linking issue (either by removing the link, or adding a nofollow attribute) you can consider that link/linking root domain addressed If you don't get a response, or the webmaster refuses to alter their link to your site, you can go ahead and add their domain to your disavow file. It requires a bit of patience–don't wait too long to hear back from the webmasters (I'd personally give it no longer than a week). I hope this helps!

Mass URL changes and redirecting those old URLS to the new. What is SEO Risk and best practices?
Hey K. Happy you found value in everyone's response here. For your URL, I see your structure resemble a blog structure with your subfolder being "learn" instead of "blog". So if it is, your final URL that you described is fine (learn/buying-guide-for-inline-skates). As a counterpoint, if you had this content as a hub page (some form of content pillar/topic cluster) for example, it would've been a good possibility to just change the URL structure since you have many Buying Guides. Different types of content, different ways to put it on your site. Like so: /buying-guide/inline-skates At the end of the day, the structure needs to be logical and reflective of where your content is. I think you got it right anyway. For the execution part; I would not recommend using the "crawl as Googlebot" function in search console. It would be way too time-consuming for you, and it is not really designed for that kind of work. Instead, update your sitemap with the final URLs and send it again via SearchConsole / Bing Webmastertools. Also, don't forget to go ahead and change the internal links pointing to the old URL to point directly to the new ones or else you'll just have a bunch of 301's crawled by Google. Make it seamless. Monitor. Monitor. Monitor. Hope that helped!

Consolidate URLs on Wordpress?
Like you said, you're going to want to redirect all http versions to https. And then redirect all www. to non-www – which you can usually accomplish by setting your non-www as the primary domain. Depending on where your site is hosted / domains are registered, there will be a few different ways you might go about this. My agency uses WPEngine to host all of our sites, and they make it super easy. Regardless where my site is hosted / who my registrar is, I've always had a lot of luck chatting with their support team. For more specific redirects, we utilize the Redirection plugin. Is that helpful at all?

Will google merge structured data from two pages if they have the same canonical?
Hi, If page A and page B have different structured data, and there is a canonical from page B to page A, then theoretically only structured data on page A will be used. So if possible, include the structured data from page B on page A. thanks

No Index thousands of thin content pages?
Egol, Thanks for this. I did consider the sub-domain option and I'm going to discuss this as an option with my team. Ken

Using H3 before or instead of an H2...
I agree with Roman and Donald that it's important for SEO to properly mark up your headings and should be fairly easy to change font size with CSS. It's also important to get your heading markup right so that folks who rely on screen readers and other accessibility devices can navigate your site.

Any way to force a URL out of Google index?
Thank you! The redirect was my suspicion as well. It's the last issue that could be causing this, thank you for affirming.

Rank Loss Analysis Tool
Hello Janki99, While I cannot recommend a system to track those metrics, I will suggest building backlinks to the content that your competitors with higher DA are now beating you at. If they have higher DA, one of the reasons is because of the number and quality of back links. They may even be able to garner more backlinks on the articles they wrote that displaced your ranking. So i would personally start a backlink campaign. First analyze the hanging fruit, then your competitors. Use OSE to find what backlinks to oyur competitors may be valuable to you. Thanks, Don Silvernail

When "pruning" old content, is it normal to see an drop in Domain Authority on Moz crawl report?
Someone from Moz will probably give better insights but the DA metric may not be impacted by your change but rather the update to the tracking index from Moz. If you read into the DA metric they provide I believe it is relative to their index and will fluctuate based on data they hold - primarily about links and site quality as a whole. I'd be surprised if pruning your content put you in a place where DA was negatively impacted as a direct result.

Negative News in SERP results?
Hi CathyWix, I would check the backlinks going to the negative pr articles. It may be the new articles and links you built are not good enough to overpower the articles that are negative. Are the negative pr backlinks of editorial level or higher? You might need to get some good press, there may not be enough good pr articles or the good pr articles are only generated by you. Generally if you are looking to get good pr you will need others to write articles in high ranking editorial publications to overcome bad pr. Thanks, Don Silvernail

Is it best to 301 redirect or use canonical Url when consolidating two pages?
As our "B" page has no rankings, we will just go with a 301 redirect immediately. Thanks again for you help!

Proximity of keywords in text
Thank you, I guess as long as it reads normally, it is best as you mentioned.
