  • Those are "access denied" errors. In other words, you are displaying links on your site that can only be accessed if you're logged in. Don't worry, this isn't a really big deal. To fix it you would need to use a server side language, like php or asp, to check if a user is logged in before outputting the links. One really elegant way to do this is to change the destination of the link depending on if the user is logged in or not. If they're not logged in, send them to a registration page telling them the benefits of signing up. This could really boost your conversion rates. Of course, if the link is to an admin section this wouldn't apply.

  • I highly recommend Notepad++ for that reason. Better control over the line return problems. Windows Notepad leaves much to be desired in this area.

  • Well, it really depends if you have any indexing issues. There's no downside in submitting one, so if it's not too much of an effort, it might be well worth it to submit one. Other issues I would suggest you look at: 1. Duplicate content issues between your main website and your mobile website 2. Are both m.yoursite.com and yoursite.com indexed in Google.com ? 3. I would recommend to disallow Googlebot-Mobile from crawling your mainwebsite and allowing only the Googlebot-Mobile on the Mobile site. I hope that helps.

  • Hi there, A lot of people have been receiving these warnings for blog network use and other low-quality/paid links. I wrote about it on the blog recently. My advice is to do your best to remove the links that are clearly low-quality - Google is telling you directly to clean things up, and may hit you with a penalty if things don't get better.

  • What I like to do is occasionally research, work on, and perfect a solution to a problem. Then I will have plenty of material for both internal and external content. You can first write a blog post or article on your site. And edit it a bit and have it looking good. Then show it as the example to other webmasters and podcast hosts. They get an idea of how you feel, know if they want your content on the matter on their site and then there is a natural page to link to for any story they do on you. It seems like a good way to go and this then has otehr strong pages with links to you that are ontopic, relevant, and different content than the first article. The second, third, or fourth article get easier and easier to write. And doing a podcast is a walk in the park after all the research and reporting.

  • Hi Tom, Im in the same boat, we have glorious feedback on both Ebay and Amazon and would love to show that on our website (without diverting people to our ebay or amazon stores). Unfortunately ebay user agreement states  "you will not take any action that may undermine the feedback or ratings systems (such as displaying, importing or exporting feedback information off of the sites or using it for purposes unrelated to eBay). • I agree with what they've said above, but one piece that's been missed is Google+. Be sure to get a Google+ brand page set up and link it to the website and other social sites. When you do a search these days, not only do they show Google+ pages in the normal SERPs but they also show a callout on the right sometimes. Having a Google+ strategy is a necessity these days: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/why-every-marketer-now-needs-a-google-strategy

  • Hi Utahtiger - You won't be penalized in one sense for having your keywords in your URL again, but you may end up hurting your rankability for the term because you will have two pages optimized for those keywords. I think it would be better to focus on one of the pages (your homepage) for that keyword. This way you can point links to that page that are optimized for that term, instead of having to build links to two pages. Don't hurt yourself with your onsite SEO. It's more important than a lot of people think
