  • Your first words are "Custom Fabricator" which causes me some friction - This sounds like you might be b2b. Do you sell stuff direct to customers? Thank you, Doug.   This is exactly what bothered me too.  I did think they were b2b from those words.

  • Thank you for your response! I have done a lot of directory focused links (yp, yelp, citysearch, ect).  (I know, not the best).  I have also done a lot of local directory websites. I do feel like I need a good strategy to get good quality links. My SEO has done press releases, but I'm not sure where or with what content. According to Open Site Explorer, I have PageAuthority of 40, MozRank of 4.58, MozTrust of 5.75, 98% equity-passing links.  The metrics are better than my competitors, but yet, they still outrank me. My husband is the "face" of the business.  His blog is new, but he's a great story teller.  We have been getting great reach on facebook with his stories.  How do I get them posted elsewhere? If we start posting on forums, will that help? My niche is deep sea fishing charters. My target audience consists of tourists looking to book a fishing trip.  My husbands blog is about stories of interesting trips or people he has encountered along the way.

  • Thank you Samuel, thats what I am afraid of from the beginning. The quality of the HTML Page need to be increased. My initial question should be mentione as a second "not so nice way" Increasing the page quality to run out the PDFs is one of the top things on relaunching the site. Thanks again Seb.

  • Ilcho, It sounds like you probably have a technical issue which is preventing your content from being indexed. I'm afraid I can't really offer more advice on this point, other to suggest paying a specialist to take a look into your specific situation. Thanks, Phil.

  • What about submitting infographics to sites that require a fee?  For example I ran across this site that had a $35 fee to "review" the info graphic.  Does paying for the "review" violate Google's terms for "paid links"? http://vizualarchive.com/submit-infographic/

  • While I agree in general with what the others  have said, I would say that the new MozLocal is worth pursuing for this, at $49/year.  Presuming you have your G+ page set up correctly with your business address, a local phone number, etc., it'll take you just a few minutes to make the CSV file and submit it.

  • Hey Phil, Which one is the one from Wistia? Do you have a link? Does that one automatically submit the video sitemap on Google Webmaster tools?

  • I wouldn't add ALT tags to all images. Only those that add context to a page - if it's a design element that repeats from page to page it would be incredibly annoying to have it read out by a screen reader over and over again. Example: 'Company X Logo, Company X Logo, Company X Logo, Company X Logo....' How to wind-up the blind very quickly!!! I started my digital career working for an agency that specialised in producing accessible websites for schools, nurseries, public libraries etc. I learned a lot about how screen readers work there and it was a real eye-opener. • Afraid you would but its pretty quick and easy and you can see how many users have come from those places,You can also see how many of those referrals have completed goals (if you've set them up), if you wanted to get super fancy you can even track where they go on your site but if I'm honest it wouldn't really be that beneficial.

  • You should def do it all from one google account. In your account you should have a places listing for each location you serve. Instead of having your main site listed with each places listing you serve, you should set up a sub domain for each location. ex: atlanta.businessname.com, newyork.businessname.com, etc... Now create a page on your site for that location. ex: businessname.com/atlanta, businessname.com/newyork, etc... Optimize the pages for the desired location keyword then 301 the sub domain to the corresponding location page you optimized. Then create a listing for each location like we said before and verify the listing with the location's sub domain. Let us know how it works for you. -Chase

  • Can you provide details of the keyword in question? There are many search terms which Google never offer a video result for - simply because it wouldn't be relevant for the term in question. If i search "car insurance" I almost certainly don't want to see a YouTube video. The same is true with Google+ local results, shopping results etc... the explicit and implicit context of the search defines what sort of results are returned. If it's a search term which doesn't match up with what Google deem to be "appropriate" for a video result, you won't get a YouTube video ranked - no matter how strong the page is.

  • thx, Sajeet. Can I use jpegmini on images already uploaded to my website? I have tried jpegmini on files before I upload to my website and it is a nice program. Image optimization: I am giving file name, using alt tag and in process of including brief description below each image in an HTML tag format. So optimization I think is covered. It is more about how I can compress these files further, AFTER they are uploaded to my website, or somehow may things run even after. Again, as mentioned in another comment, I am using CloudFlare.

  • I would recommend embedding the video higher up on the page. in multiple instances, I've seen videos fail to get indexed because they're way "below the fold" and my gut says that is what is happening here.
