I remember hearing in one of the link building webinars that if you hold a patent then you could get a link from that somehow.
One of the SEOmoz webinars? I haven't heard about this, but I'd imagine it would involve finding relevant authorities and databases that hold some interest in the patent and getting them to reference your site directly in association with it.

Best Way To Set Up Link Structure
Rand has a great post on targeting a single keyword across multiple geo's. I'd say overall, it pays to keep in mind Google's "serve the user, not the engine" philosophy - if you don't want users to see certain pages of your site, then you'll have to try and keep them separate or deep down in your internal link structure (ie at least two clicks/links away from each other), so that it's unlikely that they'll be able to just "click through" to an almost identical page.

Too Many Links???
It looks like it's something to do with your Collapsing Pages Plugin. I see links like Old Freezer Removal in the code which are not visible on the page. I would try disabling that link and see what happens.

What are the pros and cons of having comments posted on your blog?
It all depends on what you want to achieve with the blog. I run 2 sites that get lots of comments. For one site, the comments become part of the content of the site (it essentially sets a scenario for people to debate over) so for that example, it adds to the uniqueness f the site. For another site that I run, I have to spend a lot of time monitoring the comments since many people are there to just drop a link. Like everything on the web, you need to decide what's going to make your site stand out from the rest. Allowing "junk" comments won't add any value.

UK Based - Link Building Ideas for home improvement market? Brainstorming
Hey, No worries I meant you could also ask for those companies that you've provided windows for to link back to you. Re competitions - I mean actually frame your competition around link building. For example you could run a competition with bloggers to give something away - to enter bloggers simply need to write a post and link back to you with the winner drawn from the hat. See - http://bit.ly/znm31w for an example of what I mean. I hope this helps, Hannah

Link from Dmoz.org
I'm yet to get an answer from any of my submissions, only been a week though! The problem with dmoz is different, we have a link on there!! It just isn't showing up on Open site explorer as a linking domain, Its as though open site explorer can't see it. Surely it should show up as a linking root domain. If i do a search for Rattle and Drum on Dmoz we appear in the listing, click on our link and it takes you to the home page of our site, what else can there be to it?

Squidoo for link building?
Hi Brad, It might be too early to tell but I think Squidoo links are still just as valuable as they were before the most recent algorithm update. As long as your Squidoo page and content is relevant to your link, then it should be fine. What are your thoughts on it? How do you think it could have been affected by the new update? Thanks

How we can Compare these 3 Link Building Tools
Hi Vinku, You can find a nice discussion on Raven and Ontolo here - http://www.seomoz.org/q/ontolo-vs-raven-seo-tools Gianluca makes some good points that they are kind of hard to compare because Ontolo focuses only on link building while Raven is an overall campaign tool. Also, all three of your options offer a free trial. Why don't you give them each a shot and see what you think? Tim

Linking to root domain or index page
Hi Arti, Generally, you want to link to your root domain. Many common website templates link to home as /index.html, but that really hasn't been necessary for years. The easiest way to fix this would be to add a canonical tag in your homepage, which is the /index.html file. It would go in the section and look like this: After you add this, when you look at your source code for your homepage, you should see this tag in there from whatever address you reached the page from. There's a lot of information on duplicate content out there, and a lot of different ways to fix the same problem. Here's a good overview of the subject: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/duplicate-content-in-a-post-panda-world Best of luck with your SEO.

Edu discount pages fair game?
The TLD alone does not determine the value of the link. There are some pretty spammy .edu links out there. For the most part .EDUs gain google's trust because of the quality content and number of inbound links to them as a reference. Avoid spammy .edu pages. Get links from good forums on .edu's, or discount pages where it makes sense.

Purchasing Quality Backlinks
I always recommend people to open your eye while buying links for your website because of the fact that sometimes it’s cool! But sometimes when you buy links with eyes closed you came under the spot light of search engine. Links from famous directories are fine BBB and Business.com are the great websites to get a link but if you want to get a link from a niche related website with a desired anchor text then do check that websites reparation in search engine and try to get natural links instead of side bar or footer links. #myopinion

Best way to get more keywords to rank
Use internal links, I´ve seen a lot of pages that use their internal power to increase their rankings. Make sure that they point to the same page and that it looks natural (not over optimizing). I would also recommend you to start a blog, write posts with good content for your keywords and voila! you have content that drives traffic to your website. And, you can also use the blog for internal linking. In a long term, I would recommend you to rebuild the site and use flash for design and user experience, and ordinary html for navigation and presenting content. Good luck!

Link building from keyword domains
And how much search does 'ekpert tips' get? You might find you get a EMD boost, connect this with a little link building and I wouldn't be surprised if you got the 'ekpert tips domain' up to position 1-3. I would then either direct the traffic through to a page on your main site which went into much more detail on the tips and try and get some social sharing going which will benefit your main site or run the EMD for 6 months also focusing on social sharing, getting links back, after the EMD has built up some moz auth redirect it to your site. That's just me.

Can being on to many directories cause a penalty from Google?
Assuming that the directories are indeed low quality, I'd say that you probably wouldn't be penalized for it, they'd be more likely to just devalue those links. The odds might increase if you were overzealous with exact match anchor text in your links, but that would probably be more of an issue with anchor text than an issue with those specific directories.

Would using SE.NukeX or M. Submitter Hurt My Rankings Or Help?
In my opinion, the easiest way to clean up low-quality links is to not make them in the first place. I would avoid anything like this.

Blog comments good for SEO
I can tell you that the impact from some high-quality blogs will be to delete your comment if you're using your keywords as your name. There was recently an entire post on this at http://ariherzog.com/and-blog-comment-spam-continues/

What are the best SEO agencies for link building?
Daniel, thanks for asking this question. I don't personally know any decent ones so I will be building a link building department soon. I really hope someone puts a decent company here. One of the things I have done (which has worked) was article spinning. I wrote a bunch original content and had a Philippine company spin it for me. I don't really recommend it if someone is just starting out. I can PM yu the information. What about these guys that Rand recommends? http://www.seomoz.org/article/recommended#link-building
