Attaining quality links from sites of a different language.
In short, get all the links. For B&Bs, even if your site is in another language, you're still going to want listings on English travel sites like TripAdvisor, etc. Ideally the links from English sites would link to the English version of your site, and non-English links would point to the appropriate language version of your site. This option will produce the best conversions from each regional market of potential guests.

Keyword links are not showing up in majesticseo or open site explorer
Hi, So I spent time last week reducing the number of "LEED" mentions on the http://www.cleanedison.com/leed But I got my keyword reports again today and the page has fallen out of the top 50 for "LEED Certification" - I can't even find it in Google searches anymore Just two weeks ago both http://www.cleanedison.com/leed and http://www.cleanedison.com/courses/leed-green-associate were ranked 31 and 32 (not great, but still generating traffic) What is going on?!?! P.S. The link did show up in MajesticSEO, so that's good I guess

Forum Signature Links
**Hey, this is exactly right: **chase the marketing, not the algorithm If you search around your topic and find frequent forum listings in the search results then get in on those pages and help out and that link back to your site is some good solid branding that will drive referral traffic. On the flipside, if someone stumbles across that post and you have chipped in with: "Yes, very good information, I am thanking you muchley" And have a signature like Keyword Spam | more Keyword Links | Blarghh SEO Puke Then all you are doing is indicating to Google that you are trying to manipulate the results for those keywords so you will likely do more harm than good. The spammy link algorithm aspects like Penguin are only going to get more aggressive so as Corey said above: chase the marketing, not the algorithm! Marcus

You have given me an idea for an article, thanks. I think I will monitor this one for a few months and see how it goes

Getting two BOTW.org listings? Regular drirectory + blog directory?
Since you already have one link from them, i would not bother getting the 2nd link. This earlier post might also be helpful for you.

Cool interactive games to teach link building
I'm thinking about a game which i bring in a string which represents all the traffic for a particular vertical (e.g. car insurance). And place it in the middle of the table. Then the people around it will get into groups of 4 (representing websites) and think of content/creative ideas or ways to bring that traffic to them (organic traffic) What do you guys think?

Link Building - Drawing a blank
Here's a tactic that is pretty inexpensive and should work in most niches. Find non-profits that are related to your niche and write an article on your site that highlights the great work they are doing. Then contact the site and let them know about it. If they have a press page they might include your link. Another idea is to interview influential people or experts in your niche on your blog. Often people will link back to your site to share the interview with their readers. Another idea is to create an industry survey using survey monkey to find out some interesting information and then publish the results on your site. Then followup with the people you surveyed and tell them about the resource.

Web2.0 and private sites backlinks loop hole
To be honest, using Web 2.0 links in this way is viewed as a low quality activity. Many of these types of links were targeted by multiple Penguin updates, and too many of them could cause you a penalty. I'm not saying that all 2.0 links are bad - they certainly aren't. But spammers try to build 100's of 1000's of these types of links on throw-away blogger and WordPress blogs that add very little value to the web. These are the links Google tries to sniff out, so it's best to avoid them. A network of these types of links is Google's very definition of "unnatural" and could quickly lead to a loss of rankings and traffic. Put simply, Google wants you to earn your links. To answer your question more directly, the first link from any domain tends to count more than other links. So 100's of links from the same domain don't add as much value after the first links. And yes, this can start to look fishy. It's best to use 2.0 links in moderation, and make sure you are targeting high authority, well trusted sites. I recommend building profiles on good sites and earning links through adding value.

How to rank for more then one keyword
Correct, sometimes you can even don't use it at all. I have pages which are ranking for phrases which are not in the text.

Content Strategy - High Value on Lots of Sites vs. High Value on One Site
Hi Robert, two good answers above - it depends on your aims and intent (i.e. is it solely about links or would you like to built up reputation and readership?). I would second the point that Debdulal made - is it possible for you to put the content on your own site? That way you could get the best of both worlds - reputation and readership, plus inbound links if the content is high quality and you work to promote it. Good luck!

Local SEO Help
Hi there - The SEOmoz Beginner's Guide to SEO at http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo might be a useful starting point for you. Chapter 7 focuses on linkbuilding. You mentioned local SEO. Do you have questions specific to local search?

Open Site Explorer Changed?
Marking the question as answered is appreciated, but I also just did that. Will never turn down a thumbs up, but we don't go looking for them either in Q&A. If you do 200 links worth of guest posting from one domain, we won't show you all of that, but you can still look in Google and Bing and see the links there..and you'd probably have a couple of tired writers on your hands, too.

Why do the results in SEOmoz and OSE for Linking Root Domains differ?
And that is why Ryan is an Oracle. Thanks for volunteering your time on Thanksgiving and helping answer questions, Ryan!

Should you avoid links from infographic sites?
The infographic directories are fine and whilst it is not a link that is going to set the world on fire the increased exposure may see your infographic picked up a little more extensively and subsequently you get more links which is the idea after all. We don't need to be histerical about links - you have an infographic, these are infographic sites. If the site is low quality, has lots of adverts or something else about it stinks, then don't submit it there but as is mentioned below, you are creating something you want people to link to so low quality sites may pick it up anyway.

Domain name holding pages link back, good or bad?
Links from a holding page won't help. Drop the concept. Forget short-cuts. Invest in decent content. Push that content and reap the rewards
