Get search volume for 200 + keywords via API?
I'm pretty sure they are just pulling those traffic volume figures directly from google adwords keyword tool. You can dump your whole list of 500 keywords in that too, and with the right settings you should get the results you are looking for. One thing to be careful with multiple word keywords is the difference between: keyword1 keyword2 [keyword1 keyword2] "keyword1 keyword2" Usually what i am most interested is #2 above. So what i do is dump the 500 keywords into a text editor, and replace the newlines or commas, or whatever keyword delimiter you have with a [ and then replace it on the other side with a ] if this doesn't make anysense, you can link your list of keywords and i'll do it for you, probably would only take 2 minutes.

Ranking Changes: Google.co.uk vs Google.com vs Google.com.au?
I see. That's tricky then. I suppose offering currencies for the relevant countries would be a start. Then get links from websites in that country, and build pages for those countries. Thanks.

How do I conduct organic SEO for a company with 2 locations?
If you are looking for local accounts then I would focus first on your local markets. You may get less traffic but it will be more qualified. It should be a little less competitive as well. Plus it will give you an edge in the local maps, which could completely alter the universal results when they update the UK search to match the US blended search. But getting ranked locally for "web design" will require some focus on the generic term as well. So I would place a priority on your local target market first. Go for "web design Leicester" first. Worry about generic rank 2nd. I would title it: "Leicester Web Design by COMPANY NAME" or "Leicester Web Design | COMPANY NAME" "Leicester Web Design & Graphic Design | COMPANY NAME" Ideally if you want to rank for each local term then you would want a page specific to each local search. "Leicester Web Design | COMPANY NAME" "Leicester Graphic Design | COMPANY NAME" Disclaimer: I am a local pest control guy so I am biased to local.

Search Traffic down 50% but rankings same?
Thanks-I based the question on the rankchecker plugin results and I always make sure to log out of google, but I usually don't rely on my own search results. RankChecker shows either the same rankings over the last 2 months or improvement but actual visiters have dropped dramatically. I still need to go through the data in the webmaster central about actual impressions and all that.

Keywords for homepage and product categories
I would suggest optimizing your home page for your company name and your product category page for the equipment. When discussing your product keyword on your company page, offer anchor link text to your main product category so search engines are clear which page you wish to rank for the term. At least until you are ranked #1 for the most important term, you don't want to get caught in a battle between two of your own pages where both suffer.

Should I set geogrphic target to United States in webmaster tools?
Hi Ryan, If the target audience are in the USA, then it seems like the sensible thing to do. Good luck Regards, Gordon

My site fell off the serps for two keywords I tried to optimize the home page for
Hey Ryan, thanks for the tips. However as I mentioned I know I haven't done any on page optimization for those terms. I was already in the serps, then updated my title tags a few times while I was doing different keyword searches and then changing my mind. Then I disappeared from the serps. So I guess I should have been more clear. I am wondering if there is some sort of google penalty for changing your main title tags around too much. I don't think there is, but if I am not going to get back for those terms no matter what I do, I didn't want to spend time trying to optimize for those if it was pointless. It is just weird that I was at least in the results and as soon as I was going to optimize and changed the title and description, then bam I was totally gone. Thought maybe someone would have a guess, but if not, I can move forward and optimize for those and give it a month and see if I show back up.

Google Keyword tool data + No. 1 Serp rank =/= to taffic on landing page
Do you use your webmaster tools data? This is where I get content ideas. I see what keywords are already bringing in some data, or ranking somewhere from #5-20 and then I build good content around those keywords. What some people do is write some "teaser" blog posts to see what attracts attention. So, for example, you could write a blog post about "high sleepers" and see what kind of traffic you get. Then, write one about "loft beds" and see what happens. You may be surprised and find that you are getting searches for something that you didn't optimize for. This is totally made up, but let's say you find that you are getting hits for "high beds". Well, then you may choose to take that term and write a comprehensive article highly targeted for "high beds". That's what I'd do, but I'm sure there are others who use some tools out there.

Killer Methods to find the right key words for e-commerce categories anyone?
Thanks for the answer David. I already use most of these tools I thought that there might be a hidden gem somewhere that I hadn’t found yet ; )

Domain Name - Which is better?
Both www.cardealer.net and www.car-dealer.com will lose type-in traffic to www.cardealer.com. I would find another domain that is a .com without a hyphen. After you have put a lot of work into the site you don't want your traffic going to the competitor.

Keywords in google's webmaster tools
I find that a lot of the data in webmaster tools is not that helpful. It takes some time to sort through and figure out what can help you and what can't. Some of my suggested keywords are things that no one would search for. If I optimized my site for these keywords it would just look silly. Similarly, don't forget that the Adwords Keyword tool is not accurate at all when it comes to search volume. For my main keyword, it tells me that I should have 12,000 searches per month. I am number one for this keyword and yet I get 5000 impressions per month. If you are focusing on targeting local searches, do you have a local listing? This is REALLY important. It's not hard to optimize your local listing so that you appear at or the near top for several terms.
