Mark and Francisco are both providing valid reasons to keep it part of the main domain.  There are other reasons to split it out as well though, beyond "in case you want to sell the blog at some point".  First and foremost if the primary objective is to build additional paths for potential customers and related to that, establish yourself as an authority on the subject matter in a broad sense, that's great - the blog belongs in a /blog folder of the main site. Be sure however, that you really do write content relevant enough and "on-topic" enough to keep it highly related to your target market and your product vision.  Too often I've seen blogs end up meandering into "related" topics that aren't truly related enough to be a very good match - they become diluted. If the possibility exists in a big enough way that the subject matter could grow beyond your primary market, in that scenario, it's much better to have a separate unique domain for the blog, because a diluted blog will ultimately dilute the main site's topical focus and intent of visitors. IF you split it out OR keep it in a /blog folder, either way, be sure not to over-link from blog content into the main site.  So don't just make blog articles that talk about new products and duplicate product descriptions, don't put more than one link in articles that point to the main site's products. Be sure each article has very high quality content that really does offer valuable information in its own right.

Are you telling me now that I shouldn't be worried that much about SEOmoz flagging 6000 errors on duplicate content as long as my pages get indexed by Google and my site ranking well?

I agree with EGOL, with the caveat that if you are using Wordpress, you should have a plugin that prevents the excessive multiple pinging of posts and pages after editing. If you edit a story and it pings other sites, then you edit another part and it pings again, and you keep editing and saving, you will cause problems for yourself. So I use MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer

Thanks for your insightful reply Keri. I especially like your last idea about having somewhere to point people to instead of re-explaining it again. It should hopefully make their thought process on what they really want as a blog post easier.

If I understand what you are asking correctly, then it is best to have only one blog.  You want it in your website and drop the blogspot version.  You only want one copy of your posts on the internet and you want them on your site giving your site more authority. If the existing blog is really powerful and has a lot of links pointing at it, you may want to look in to 301 redirects to point the old URL's to the new blog within your site.  I'm not sure if that's possible with blogspot, but something to consider.

The question that I feel needs to be asked here is, what will engage my readers to read the posts?  If it's all on one page, write it that way.  If breaking them in to several parts and pages is better, then by all means go that route.  Search engines don't read your articles and convert, they drive PEOPLE to your articles who in turn convert.  Worry about the people and the SEO will come.

I would probably put those similar contents all on the same page but in some tabs or accordion expending sections if your skills or content management system permits it.

Hi, I usually use full sentences including a keyword. Have tons of searches for these elements. It is a long tail but it increases site traffic. In my opinion optimal size is like in the meta - title ... no more than 70 characters. Marek

I know that I can buy Getty images, but the ones I have seen have attributes to Getty, you wouldn't do that if you had bought it. The normal cc images are usually not as high quality as the Getty ones. Thats why I was wondering how they could be accessed by bloggers without purchasing outright. Thanks for your response!!

Diane, could you rephrase your statement in your first paragraph? You pressed good answer and it came up that you pressed good answer, I'm not sure what the problem is. But if there is a technical problem I'm happy to look into it. Is tracking your keywords in your campaign no longer working? On our page about the standalone rank tracking app (which is coming back -- I have helped test it), we do note that you  can use the manage keywords section of your campaign to track rankings.
