Can You Help Explain This Nightmare Screenshot from Google Webmaster Tools?
Can you give us more information about Google "forgetting" your pages? I'm not very clear on your answer here.

Google Authorship and the "Fishkin" Outburst! Sorry Rand ;)
Thanks for the comment Rand. When I asked the question "Should companies now shift away from creating great content..", this was a little tongue in cheek. I wanted to stir up some dialogue within our community. Sure, well written informative content is fantastic, we all know this is truly valuable as part of any sustainable marketing strategy, but has this now lost "some" value? I have my own opinion, what's yours? I thought Joel Klettke wrote a fantastic piece http://www.iacquire.com/blog/authorship-photos-removed

Duplicate Content
Hard to say if they are taking a 'hit' of any kind. Just from checking Rugs USA, while there is some duplicate content the different product pages are not identical (there are different product titles, images, size options, prices, reviews, etc) so there may not be enough to consider it a 'duplicate content'. To be safe, you always want things like descriptions to be unique, and not duplicate, but that in and of itself may not be enough to draw the duplicate content penalty.

Blog Posts: 1 link per 125 words?
If it is natural, and all about UX, then there is nothing to worry about, in my opinion. Sounds like you are doing a great job!

Reposting My Original Content
Check out these posts on blog syndication. It can be a great source of exposure for your site. Make sure the original post on your site is already indexed first and you link back to it from any place that the post is syndicated.

Best SEO Approach for Scanned PDFs
OCring it should make it crawlable so that should create search engine benefit. What you could try is using some of the content as a lead generation piece. So you know all those sites that will give you well written white pages if you give them an email? You could do the same, so maybe have the best content released only after an email is produced.

How do I stop someone from hijacking my site?
ok, thx for that. I will try it. I know the pages that need the 301 from the others. all the bad pages have index2.asp in the names. I have changed my ftp and login passwords good to know the 404 don't count against me

Staggered Blog Posting
a) I would load up several awesome articles from the get go. that way if a person visits your blog when you first start dripping, there is other content than just the 1-2 posts for them to view. b) i do recommend dripping the posts... I don't believe staggering has any SEO effect. just think your potential readers and the ideal schedule for them to return to your site and convert.

Tumblr, Blog or Both
Does your client have that much content to regularly update a tumblr and a custom on-site blog? I would actually go with the on-site blog. What's your customer's reasoning behind the change?

What is the Best Content Spinner to Use?
A different forum may have an audience that is better suited to answer this question. Right now, this is like asking for reviews of the best steak sandwich in a vegan forum. For an honest answer to your question, I do suggest a different forum. For trolling, I ask that it not occur on this forum. The community here is open to helping, but not as open to a question that turns into something where their are being used for a different purpose. I'm locking this thread.

Guest Blogging
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I have read articles stating the same thing. Like everything with SEO, we want to use guest blogging at a minimal level. I certainly don't see a benefit to over doing it. but we still want to get a few back links. We definitely want an audience, but we are working with the tools we have. At this point we are considering reputable sites like major news outlets or state level law blogs. There are a few sites that sell "SEO services" like Alllaw, findlaw, or NOLO, but we have found that while they can get the client business, they don't actually do much to drive traffic to the actual website (ie those companies want to charge and arm and a leg, but not give you the option of really improving your SEO.)

Seo benefits to keywords other than specifically targeted?
Hi Ruben, How people use your site (like traffic to your blog posts) can contribute to your 'authority', and thereby, your rankings, yes, but you would want to be blogging with your keywords in mind. If you are a wedding photographer with a local business website and you're starting this blog as a vehicle for publishing additional, on-going content, then consider viewing the blog as a showcase of the client projects you take on locally. So, let's say you're operating out of your physical location in Taos, New Mexico, but you frequently get jobs in neighboring cities like Santa Fe, Mora and Albuquerque. Lacking a physical location in these 3 towns, you are very unlikely to earn Google local pack rankings for them, because that's just the way Google works. But, by steadily blogging about the weddings you've photographed in these other cities (writing about the projects, the venues, showing your photos) you will begin to develop a body of content that relates to your service keywords + these cities. The hope here is to gain visibility in the ORGANIC SERPS, rather than the local ones. If your work is impressive and your writing engaging, this additional organic visibility can help you to start getting phone calls from these additional cities. That's basically how it works. If you are blogging regularly about your work in these other cities, and your competitors aren't as motivated in their marketing as you are, you have a chance to get into the organic SERPs with the kinds of blog posts that excite new potential customers and encourage them to pick you for their event. Hope this helps!

What are the effects of posting on a blog site using copied content from your site if you source the site on the blog site?
DA is a Moz measuring tool, which isn't used by Google. It is just an indication that the site will rank well (if it's high), or may have difficulty (if its low). PR is somewhat outdated, but is at least something google either still uses or used to use in their ranking algorithm. What google looks at when determining which content is original is which one they find first. To make sure yours is found first use Google+ to share your new pages or twitter to tweet the links. Facebook can also be used for this purpose. Best of luck, Amelia

Optimisimng you tube videos
Hey Hardley, I concur with Kevin's point below. Giving all of your traffic to YouTube isn't the best idea. Phil Nottingham's research has shown that an extremely low number of users click through to links in YouTube descriptions. Naturally, YouTube is the 2nd biggest search engine on the web and people will find you within it, but you should consider self-hosting your videos so the traffic lands on your website. Wistia is a great solution for that. All that said, YouTube pages pretty much follow the same rules as any other page on the web with regard to Google. On-page optimization with keyword-relevant copy, titles and metadata and off-page optimization in the form of links. Do those things as you normally would and your videos will rank in Google. The on-page factors and engagement metrics lead to its ranking within YouTube. YouTube also has its own Keyword Research tool so you can identify the terms that need to be placed in your tags, descriptions and titles. -Mike

Recommendations Content / Copywriter
Check out the Moz recommended list - they're mostly SEO companies but some will offer copywriting / content services, or will have partners they can recommend.
