RE: OSE Too Slow
It is very poor with recognizing links quickly.
In this latest round of updates OSE finally recognized links that I got a year ago. But still is missing a ton of 1 way links that I got from attending a conference in June.
I have been building a lot of 1 way links through networking and yet my DA is going down?? and the links take forever to be picked up.

And that does not answer my question. I've already read that page.

Do keywords in url parameter count?
I have a client who is on an older ecommerce platform that does not allow url rewrites in anyway. It would cost a ton of money to custom dev a solution.
Anyways right now they have set up a parameter on their product urls to at least get the keyword in there. My question is, will this keyword actually be counted since it is in a parameter?
An example url is
http://domain.com/Catalog.aspx?Level1=01&Level2=02&C=Product-name-here
Does this 'product-name-here' count as having the keyword in the url according to google?

Local search data
Is there a good reliable tool for getting search volume for local keywords.
The adwords keyword tool is nice but I am wanting to know which cities get which portion of the local traffic they present.

RE: Is it wise for employees to be tied to a company's content with rel=author?
Well, if they are the ones writing it then I would be more willing to say go for it. If somebody else is and you just want a name associated then I would not. Your best bet would be to create a Plus page for the ceo or a owner of some sorts. And associate it with that account.

RE: Is Google Making Life Harder For Aggregators?
For something a long those lines Google mixes in shopping results to try and bring the best results. But for a hotel kind of search I would much rather get the hotel itself.

RE: Does SEOMoz ever work?
Majority of the tools are great. The only one that I dislike is the OSE because of how rarely it is updated (I understand why it is and am not complaining) and because even when it is updated it is often months behind on recognizing or picking up links.
The on page grader is incredible and the ranking tool is great though it crashes about once every 5 runs for me.

RE: Is Google Making Life Harder For Aggregators?
I would say so. Google has been taking a lot of actions to bring back better quality results. When you do a search would you rather get the official companies or a site with a news feed or aggregation ran by a 3rd party source?

RE: Keyword density for a website
About 4 times should be fine. Try not to focus on stuffing the keyword or inserting it in unnatural ways. Just write the content naturally and it should work the keywords in.
Just write relevant information that is tailored towards the user.

RE: Why is our site being penalized?
Hard to tell without a link to your site to see what is going on.

RE: 302 error removing site from results
As for issue #4. I believe that is where they used to have pages for each dimension of a product. So it would be upper level, sub level, product level.
Some products have hundreds of the same thing but with one inch different so they removed those pages and redirected them.

RE: Will invalid HTML code generated by WordPress affect SEO efforts?
Depends on the kinds of errors being generated. I use wordpress and it does not generate errors like that for me. It may be the theme you are using.
Anyways, invalid markup plays a very minimal role in seo. The primary way it effects things is with site speed. If there are errors that may impact your site's load time then yes it can penalize you a little. But not enough where you will really see that negativity. If the rest of your site is properly optimized you would be fine. It is minor problems that compound and add up which will create a headache for you.

RE: 302 error removing site from results
The site is indexed but does not rank for anything at all. It used to and now it doesnt ever since the 302s were added
For instance
http://www.metalsforasteel.com/Catalog.aspx?Level1=01&Level2=01
goes to
http://www.metalsforasteel.com/Catalog.aspx?Level1=01&Level2=01&C=Steel_Angle
The site is ugly and has poor navigation but that is not something they wish to change. On page is ok but not the best. Their link profile is again not the best but webmaster tools says there are no problems and when I put in a reconsideration request they said nothing was wrong.
It does not rank for anthing, not even its own company name. Nowhere in the top 100.
I want a brand new, more modern and clean site to be done. That however is not really viable.
The home page does not have a 302 but everything else essentially does.
There is no robots.txt file. There is no noindex.
The 302 is the only major thing that we have come across. Been looking into this for weeks and not finding anything that should be causing this to happen

302 error removing site from results
I have a client who had a screwy url structure based off of parameters and all. They hired a developer that added the keyword to the end of the url and set up 302 redirects to the new keyword included url.
Since then the entire site has virtually gone missing in the results but it is not penalized. I put in a request with webmaster tools for reconsideration and they said there was no penalty.
I only just found the 302 problem today and think this is probably the problem. Could this remove a site from the search results?

Youtube shows vs playlist
Which is better for YT search? Any benefits to one or the other? Should I do both?
