The process explained by you getting backlinks via "agency link farms" seems to be completely black hat to me, the process is much risky.

I have seen many of SEO having the same problem with their clients wherein they take their work for a lower budget and then aren't able to deliver quality work. The idea of a white-hat SEO, in my opinion, is not to grab links wherever they come from, but to focus on right target audience, trying to create a website to cater them and to find the right places on the Internet where you can find them.

It seems, your complete strategy is focused on low-quality links.  I have a few clients who have not so good looking websites but they ranks well with a good off-page strategy, on the other end of the spectrum I have clients who have good looking websites with great on-page they also rank well. So, it's your approach to the online presence and how you end up promoting it, which will make the difference.

The links anchor needs to be contextual at all times or to the best extent possible.

What is an Ideal natural looking link?

• An ideal link brings targeted traffic related to page/website it links (target traffic ensures fewer bounce rates, which help further for SEO)

How can SEO and traffic benefit from a natural link ?

• You have to use the right Anchor text, which is in the right context with the target URL.
• Natural linking and getting good traffic combined is the best thing to happen in SEO.

As for whether you should use Long-tail or naked link anchors, it totally depends on the context in which the backlink is being created.

For example, I would use naked anchor text when building brand authority (for the website URL) and Anchor text when I wish to target specific keywords.

Here is what google recommends in terms of page speed. Server response time to be less than 200 ms.

Now, coming to the Page Speed tool / Insight that google provide the measure the page speed ratings (1-100) , Google Page Speed score is indeed a strong indicator of a website’s loading performance in terms of time.

As per my research, total website download less than 10 secs corresponds to 75-85 on pagespeed score.

There are couple of ways to go about this:

1 . You can create custom titles for your portfolio pages in WordPress manually with help a plugin, something like Yoast for WordPress.

2. You can replace the existing title for all pages, by changing codes of the theme (header.php and functions.php). However, this is not advisable, your codes can be lost with future upgrades of the theme and it can create a mess.
