I have a facebook badge in my footer. Is it okay if I make the code call on https. It makes the page secure for IE. I have also have done this for images. These secure urls are also being called on non secure pages. But I don't think that matters does it? Code below.

I've seen this before and implemented it. My only issue is that you are adding a significant amount of links to your page with this.

I prefer facebook, because it's so interactive. It's so amazing how it posts directly to your facebook page, just like you added a link to your wall. It's really clean - http://ourfiletransfer.com/misc/aa.gif

I also deleted the post in my facebook but it still shows on that facebook widget in the comments.

I did hear from the ceo at webtrends that you should always use fbml instead of iframe (i don't know why).

I'd like to sell a site I own. I'd like the site to be redirected to the buyers site with a 301 redirect. But I'd like the viewer to be informed that the site was purchased by this company and they will be redirect in 5 seconds.I'd like for the redirect to be a complete 301 and pass as much linklove as possible.

Are you familiar with how to do this?

I will say that I have been told two different things about whether google can see what is in an iframe and if it gets attributed to your site. I guess the answer to this is really what I'm looking for.

1. Posts are not crawlable as they are loaded in an iFrame

So that's it, I think the answer has come. You get ZERO on page optimization from facebook comments, even if you receive an unprecedented amount of conversation.

Facebook posts might be indexable, but they won't be seen on that page. And even if they are indexed on Facebook, there's no seo for the actual page. The thing I would lose is a bad strategy. Im at a cross roads - promote proper comments or install Facebook.

I was looking at techcrunch's code and it looks like none of that information is actually being consider content on their site.

Even with tons of comments. So I am thinking that a huge amount of facebook comments does nothing for your onsite SEO. You get no more content and nothing is changing on your page, despite even an unprecedented amount of conversation. Perhaps the only thing you would get from this is the off site SEO - which would be traffic and exposure on facebook.

I'm not asking if I should do this or not. I'm really asking: do you agree with what I said above.

I am entering sitewide navigation that will go to primary seo pages. This is really for usability, not for link juice.

I'm wondering if I should still link to these very important pages in my index page's content. Or if I should consider those navigation links strong enough. If I did link in the content, then I would have more than one link to the same page on my home page.

I would highly recommend getting an individual to do it on elance. You can look at their ratings from previous projects and how much money they have made from this line of work. This way you can be sure that you are getting a proper writer to do this work. Additionally I would say - good job on the rewriting - this is necessary!

Your navigation, header and footer should be as seo friendly as whatever your html sitemap links would be. But really this is distracting from the content of the page. I like one column, no navigation on your html page. Keep the look of your site. Keep the header and footer to look nice.

I worked on my site using a sandbox, this site got cached!!!

So now all my pages on my regular site have several links from this IP address. I know this isn't that big of a deal. But I would like to get it straightened out.

I've had disallow on the robots.txt for several weeks.

How should I go about getting this IP address out of the google index?

I think these are usually iframes. Google can see them and I have been told they carry weight (http://www.wolf-howl.com/) , but they are also said to not carry any weight (bruce clay).

No hyphens will not hurt your seo. That is you won't lose ranking because you have hyphens. But it does look a little spammy and people maybe less likely to click on domains with hyphens.

Yes hypehsn will help if they are in the domain. Mainly becasue when someone links to your domain like rich-keywords.com - the keywords are already in the anchor text. But I also advise away from going after keyword rich urls, they look spammy. Webmasters will also be less likely to get back to you on link requests and partnerships.

I recommend you stay with your company domain and try to optimize that. It also makes sense to have your company name in the url.
