Hi Monica,
Thanks for this - I haven't used WebCEO before. Is there any unique insight you get from WebCEO that you can't get elsewhere?
Thanks again!
PS - Not surprised to see Screaming Frog mentioned so many times...!

Which 3rd Party Digital Marketing Tools Do You Or Your Business Use?
Hi all,
I was looking to find out what are the most popular 3rd party digital marketing tools are in 2015 and was hoping to tap into the wealth of expertise here at Moz. I'd like to ask that you please list 5 of your most used 3rd party tools below including **1 tool which you wish you could use **regularly but maybe don't have a subscription for.
I'll aggregate the data and then provide a comprehensive list - as long as we get enough feedback.
My list would look like this;
- Google Analytics
- Search Metrics
- Google Webmaster Tools
- Majestic
- SEM Rush
Wish) Linkdex (well worth a look if not used before)
Many thanks to all in advance!

Backlinks from the Same Domain (But Different Pages)
Wayyy back when (in the days of yore) Mr Cutts spelled out in a video that page rank is distributed equally between the external links on the page. If there are two links on a page, each gets passed 50% of the available page rank etc. (Perhaps an oversimplification but bear with me).
As a result of this, the company I worked for at the time (this was the dark ages when sidebar homepage links were in vogue) decreed that we would only ever approach a site about a link for a client once, as additional links had little extra SEO Value.
Now you could argue that if there are 5 external links, each acquiring 20% of the power, and your site has 2 of those, you are getting 40% of the power, but lets forget the basic math for a minute.
I have scoured the web and Mr Cutts' videos and I cannot find the answer to my question:
If my site (Site A) has a backlink from SiteB Page 1, and a backlink from SiteB page 2 - does this count as two separate links in the eyes of Google? If the SAME site links out to my site, linking to different pages in different posts, does this give me more SEO benefit?
Thanks for your time!

RE: Subject: Brand anchor text distribution. Does the HP url classify as brand anchor?
Thanks Dana, I just needed a bit of affirmation really - which you certainly provided.
I believe the brand anchor should be segmented under the umbrella - the difficulty is getting an accurate % that may correlate with rankings across multiple niches - a bit of an algo chase admittedly(well a small part of it anyhow!)
I survived thanksgiving this year! I hope that you didn't feast on any relations.

RE: Why Does OSE (Open Site Explorer) have such little backlink data on russian sites in the google.ru index?
Thanks for your response (last May - a while back I know)
I re-read your answer and it got me thinking - does OSE only find trusted seed set sites in the eyes of Google? Or does it consider beginning its 'trust' quest journey by what other engines consider, or humans even??
If google turned on a 'cynical' algorithm - surely it would consider most of the newspaper and media links as 'gamed' - turn these off - reverse the polarities and go to find the far remote honest and unbias independent citations from deeper parts of the web. How does one judge what a seed site should be in each country? Is this a manual choice?

Subject: Brand anchor text distribution. Does the HP url classify as brand anchor?
Hi guys, I just wanted to know what your take is on this and whether anyone knows if google has published any info on this.
I am wanting to analyse a fairly large backlink profile. The idea is to discover how far it correlates alongside recent SERPS ranking data (based on anchor text distribution) information that has been published across the web.
There is so much data to categorise and segment. This is due to overlaps in categorisation, (which is possibly a good thing as it appears more natural) though I often it difficult to decide which goes where.
My question today relates to brand anchor text - in determining the % of overall brand distribution for a backlink profile -
Which out of the below do you think rings true?
1.) Should I be considering the homepage url anchor text as a branded link anchor?
2.) Should the brand % just be 'pure brand' anchor text?
3.) Should it contain partial brand + KWD data?
4.) Should it comprise of all of the above elements?
5.) Should I divvy up / segment partial brand, pure brand, brand + kwd, citations etc into new sub categories and see how this individual data correlates to current ranking factors in the SERPS? (Not sure if there is any recent published data in this amount of detail)
Anyway, I just wondered what you guys thought about this in the eyes of Google., and also to find out how you go about classifying and segmenting backlink profile data.
Thanks for now

RE: SeoMoz says I have no link, when I know I have. What's going wrong
SEOMoz doesn't crawl the whole web.
SEOMoz find new links every 4-6 weeks on its recurrent spidering paths around the web.
It now shows a link for me that has dropped out - with present technology vs practicalities business-wise it can't physically go real-time yet

RE: Google local places
Can you provide a screen shot?
Google places is / has migrated to google+ profile local - I'm sure google places still works as I set one up a week ago. Maybe it's rolled out later here?

Why Does OSE (Open Site Explorer) have such little backlink data on russian sites in the google.ru index?
OK this seems v strange, but google.ru are indexing far more BLs in their SERPS for a widget than OSE reports. Very little data is found in OSE for russian based sites.
Is this the marketing intention?
(I could send raw data if needed!)
What is filtering this vast google.ru data list out? Is OSE only catered for US/UK?

RE: Link Building Speed
Some people can build 500+ links a month from seperate class C IPs
Some people build none for months and then land one from Microsoft after engaging in case studies related to indepth business infrastructures. (for example)
To work out the pace - budget, time scale and competition needs to be identified - it really depends on your objectives.
Is it specific KWD performance targets, or holistic performance?
It's quite a huge topic to answer briefly TBH
According to Matt Cutts, Just make a cracking site and then tell people about it everywhere you go

If it cuts the mattstard then those links will come, and then you can socially engineer your content and community to like you even more and attract more
