Yep, that was my first step also, but it hasn't worked.
Any other ideas?
A few years ago someone started a Facebook page for my company.
It has about 15 fans and is not active, however it is ranking in Google because of it's age.
I want to delete the page (so that the real official Facebook page will rank instead).
However, I do not have access to the original admin account and Facebook is not responding to my removal requests.
Any suggestions for what I should do?
Thanks!
I am working on redoing my blog and there are many posts that fit into two categories. Should I keep them in only one? or place them in both?
For example-
Category 1 - Gucci
Category 2 - Shirts
Should a post about "Gucci shirts" go in both places or only the "Gucci" category and the "shirts" category would then only include posts about my more minor brands.
Thanks!
I want to know the top trending words in countries other than USA.
Any suggestions for an alternative to Google "Hot Searches" in Australia, Germany, Russia and Sweden?
Thanks!
We link to it from our website, blog and some news articles we wrote.
The name is "brand - kw, kw", but would adding 2 keywords after the brand really make us lose all of our Facebook rankings? That doesn't sound right.
My Facebook page does not show up within the first 50 results of a search for my brand. I have over 3,000 fans and am relatively active so it should be there.
On the second page of SERPs for my brand there is a Facebook page of a spammy looking affiliate with 15 fans. On the third page my Facebook test page appears.
Any ideas about what happened with my page?
Is it possible Google penalized my Facebook page - and if so, how do I fix that?
I checked the admin again and the page is open to the public and when I do a search for "brand facebook" it appears.
Thanks for your help!
When running my website on link detective I found that 40% of my links were unknown and 41% were dead.
I have a very strong affiliate network and it seems like most of the unknown are from affiliates. How should I interpret the dead links - is this harming my site?
Thanks!
If you haven't promoted the other 2 domains you probably aren't getting much benefit fro them. However, assuming nothing is in a bad neighborhood, I would recommend keeping the 301 redirects - it won't harm you and could get you a bit of link juice.
Hi,
Thanks for the advice, but that doesn't really work for an online business with no local presence such as mine...
I work in a field similar to casinos, which obviously makes standard link building practices more difficult. Also, my company cannot operate in the US.
Any SEOMozzers who work in similar fields and have ideas for creative link building to successfully build a robost (and white hat) link profile for marginal industries?
Thanks!
I am work as an in-house SEO person, and we use as external SEO consulting company to help with more complicated and technical issues.
It seems to work well, and helps with the lack of team/collaboration which can be a problem for people working in-house.
Does using a slider widget (such as the one Skype uses) harm my SEO?
Meaning, is the text still totally readable to search engines or will it be in JAVAscript.
Are there any SEO-friendly sliders you would recommend?
When you go to google.couk/trends you see "Hot Searches (USA)". I am looking for something similar for the UK - the most popular/trending searches for the week (as opposed to trends for a specific keyword)
H1 tags should be the largest text on the page. Search engines want these to be the actual header on the page. If you want the biggest item on the page to be "Respect the Bean" but it is not any of your keywords, how about making it into an image?
I would also second Aran's remark that your current H1 seems like keyword stuffing.
Hi,
Is there a UK version of US Google Hot Searches?
From my search, it seems like there used to be Hot Topic but it no longer exists.
What can I use to find trending topics in the UK?
If anyone has tools that work in RU, AU, DE or SW that would also be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
My site is available in EN, DE, SW, SP, FR, IT, CH and JP.
However, the EN sites ranks much better than the other languages, and even when searching in another language the EN homepage is normally the result that appears.
Would it be worthwhile to automatically redirect users to the site in the same language they are searching in or country they are searching from? If so, how do I go about this?
Thanks!
Besides the sites stats in opensiteexplorer, think about which page would be more useful from the users point of view and seem the most natural and get the link from that page to your site.
