Why isn't google indexing our site?
Well, links/shares are good. But of course I'm just begging the question of how you can get those. Rand gave a great talk called "Inbound Marketing for Startups" at a Hackers & Founders meetup that was focused more on Inbound as a whole than SEO in particular, but it's full of valuable insights: http://vimeo.com/39473593 [video] Ultimately it'll come down to some kind of a publishing/promotional strategy for your startup. Sometimes your startup is so unique/interesting that it has its own marketing baked right in - in which case you can get a lot of traction by simply doing old-school PR to get your startup in front of the right people. Other times, you've got to build up links/authority on the back of remarkable marketing. BufferApp is a great example of a startup that built traction off their blog. Of course, they weren't necessarily blogging as an SEO play - it was more in the aim of getting directly in front of the right audience for direct signups for their product. But they definitely built up some domain authority as a result. I'd also take a look at the guides Mailchimp has created - they created the dual benefit of getting in front of the right audience in a positive/helpful way (which benefits the brand and drives sign-ups directly) as well as building a considerable number of inbound links, boosting their domain authority overall. Unfortunately no quick/easy ways to build your domain authority, but things you do to build your authority can also get you immediately in front of the audience you're looking for - and SEO just becomes a lateral benefit to that.

Linkbuilding - How many links to directories per month
I would not suggest submitting to any if your site is rather new - it can do more harm than good.

Hi thanks. And for a landing page. Should they be long or short. 1000 words or 300 words? Does google have any preferences for landing pages

Link Building Semi- Automated Software
Software is quite sophisticated these days, there's no such thing as incompatible directories, as long as the submission involves any type of web form. Rejecting the use of submission software has become an unreasonable reflex with some seo experts I don't see why someone would not use a tool that helps saving time, as long as you are in full control of what gets sent where.

Will this Blog Tool hurt our SEO
I had a friend who used this tool and said it did not help them in any way and found it a complete waste of their time. The advertising patter sounds great but the performance does not match up with the marketing

Do Meta Title Tags effect rankings for just the page they are on?
The title you use on a per page basis should be matched to that pages content. So if someone searches for "Online Billing Software" then this should target the page www.landingpage.com\subpage.html. However, there is no guarantee this is going to happen. It might be worthwhile having a quick read through the basics that SEOmoz have put together here as well: http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo A great guide that will really give you some helpful tips. Meta Title Tags
From a user's point of view, if that's all one title tag, it looks fairly stuffed and spammy. Google has been known to show a title tag of its choosing in the SERPs if it thinks the one coded is too spammy.

Competitor Analysis
Not to my knowledge. Anything that claims to do so is probably simply analyzing backlinks for anchor text, keyword density, or looking at the keywords meta tag - so the data you get back will only be hypothetical as to what your competitors maybe or should be targeting... not necessarily the keywords they are targeting or ranking well for. SEMrush.com claims to do such a task; however, I personally do not believe that it does an accurate job. At least in my opinion. Good luck. Mike

Meta description and Meta Keywords
Hi few last quick question. Are "Meta Keywords" and "Meta Keyword Tags" the same thing? I am going through each page and adding Meta Title Tags (Unique and 70 chars or less) Meta Descriptions (Not unique same on every page) Is this correct and all I need? And how long should the Meta Description be, is there a limit? Sorry I know this is basic stuff but I want to get the basics 100% correct or else we are doomed from the start! Thanks Andrew
