Thanks. This is my point though if you look at www.moz.com there is hardly any copy at all.
If for example Moz and "another site" where equal in all other way links PR etc. They had the same amount of keywords on thier landing page. But the "other site" had more copy, would google rank Moz or the "other site" higher?
Hi
We have a SaaS online invoicing software website. We want to optimize our landing page for conversion. Everything we read about conversion says
and thats it. Very very little copy.
Question is is this bad for our SEO. Will google rank our home\landing page if we do not have lots of natural keyword copy?
SEO and CRO are conflicting here aren't they?
Thanks
Thanks Dan, but what grey areas, what url are you looking at?
Its a dotnetblogengine.com blog its open source but not sure where to start
Thanks
9000 duplicate content and duplicate page titles caused by my blog. I have added
User-agent: *Allow: /Blog/post/Disallow: /Blog
to the Robot.txt to just allow the main site and the Blog posts
Is this a good way to fix it?
My site was crawled last night and found 10,000 errors due to a Robot.txt change implemented last week in between Moz crawls. This is obviously very bad so we have corrected it this morning. We do not want to wait until next Monday (6 days) to see if the fix has worked. How do we force a Moz crawl now?
Thanks
Hi
The blog is www.dotnetblogengine.com
The content is only on the blog once it is just it can be accessed lots of different ways
Hi Dan,
I am getting duplicate content errors in WMT like
This is because tag=ABC and page=1 are both different ways to get to www.mysite.com/Blog/Post/My-Blog-Post.aspx
To fix this I have remove the URL's www.mysite.com/Blog/?tag=ABC and www.mysite.com/Blog/?Page=1from GWMT and by setting robot.txt up like
User-agent: *
Disallow: /Blog/
Allow: /Blog/post
Allow: /Blog/Post
I hope to solve the duplicate content issue to stop it happening again.
Since doing this my SERP's have dropped massively. Is what I have done wrong or bad? How would I fix?
Hope this makes sense thanks for you help on this its appreciated.
Andrew
Hi,
I have removed the Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn and G+ links from the top of our home page so as to try and stop users leaving the page. Is this bad for SEO?
Thanks
Thanks
Is "We also had to promote the content to encourage inbound links so we went to every blog and commented about the tutorial to give it visibility" ok to do still?
Hi,
We have a web app. All our competitors are on http://www.appappeal.com. We can suggest ourselves here http://www.appappeal.com/contact/suggest. If we get reviewed and the link is a follow link is this a good thing or a bad thing. They call themselves a directory and you can pay to get a "priority" review.
Should we avoid or is it a good link as the DA is 58?
Hi Dan,
The issue is my blog had tagging switched on, it cause canonicalization mayhem.
I switched it off, but the tags still appears in Google Webmaster Tools (GWMT). I Remove URL via GWMT but they are still appearing. This has also caused me to plummet down the SERPs! I am hoping this is why my SERPs had dropped anyway! I am now trying to get to a point where google just sees my blog posts and not the ?Tag or ?Author or any other parameter that is going to cause me canoncilization pain. In the meantime I am sat waiting for google to bring me back up the SERPs when things settle down but it has been 2 weeks now so maybe something else is up?
How long should a "quality" blog post be? General advice seems to be that a 300 word post just won't cut it, but advice on the optimum length is vague. I appreciate that all posts are different but is there a rule of thumb, is 1000 words good and 1500 too long...or should they are all aim to be 2000 words?
Also with regards to pictures in blogs, can they just be taken from the web or are there sites that I should be using to source the pictures?
Thanks
Hi,
So I have my great content (that contains a link to our site) that I want to distribute to high quality relevant sites in my niche as part of a link building campaign. Can I distribute this to lots of sites? The reason I ask is that those sites will then have duplicate content to all the other sites I distribute the content to won;t they? I this duplication bad for them and\or us?
Thanks
Thanks we are an online invoicing software provider so am at a loss really on what content we can provide that anyone would ever want to link to. It's not the most interesting of sites/subjects to link too.
Hi,
Links from Directories are bad.
Links for low quality sites are bad.
Paid links are bad.
Guest blogging is "maybe rumor has it" google's next big Penguin.
Where and how is everybody getting all these great links from, is there anywhere left??
All advice welcomed as we really need good links quick!
Thanks
Thanks it goes straight to www.mysite.com/Blog
