Hi,

As I understand it you'll need to map all the old URLs to the New URLs with a set of 301 redirects.

This will tell google that the old page has permanently moved to the new location. You should get all the rank juice but I think you may loose a little.

In my experience there is no "one way" to do link building. You'll need a good mix of techniques including all that you mention.

I have found that Directory listings still work well along with blog commenting. These are the easy links you can get.

However, it can be massively powerful to work hard to get an article published on a big and well trusted site. Here is the UK I've seen excellent performance from the Telegraph newspaper.

Use of image links is surprisingly effective. I recently experienced one of my clients images was "borrowed" from their website to post with a related article. The borrower (article author) did not ask permission but did give a follow link back to the original image. This created a page 1 "universal listing" for the image leading back to my client's site.

This is just the type of thing that I've seen happen to me. From all the digging I've done (not extensive) I can only assume that Google makes a decision on the fly as to weather to show the image or not.

Maybe it's something to do with the  search terms used?

What is the USR you are testing search for. Maybe the MOZ community could search for your keywords and see if the image shows?

You are a mine of information! Thanks for pointing out the LSI being done by Google. I'd been trying to get those semantic keywords in to my writing but I see that it's not really needed.

"cat photos" gets me cat pics, cat images, cat photographs, cat pix so I can see that Google are interpreting the intent pretty well already.

I used scribe for a while and it helped me a lot to begin with. My understanding of how to write grew from the knowledge gained out of Scribe.

I'd say try it out and use it LOADS in your first month subscription, I mean REALLY use it every day so you get the feel for what it's telling you.

It's produced by those great guys at Copyblogger so I'd say they know what they're talking about when it comes to content marketing.

Not quite sure what your question is but the Schema.org page on video is here:

They've use a Embed Flash example but you can change that out for YouTube video (as I understand it).

Seems to me that Google are under pressure to be more secure with the data they collect so it's a natural progression I feel to hide all the data from us website owners and SEOs; so I'm not one of those who think that it's a ploy to get us all to spend on AdWords.

However, I'm not sure that hiding the keyword data rather than anonymising it was the best way for them to go. After all having the keyword data and knowing what keywords are performing best helps us and webmasters to fine tune content and deliver a better experience for our website visitors.

Still google ain't gonna change just because a few SEO whine and whinge about it. Rather they'll strengthen their security position and maybe remove more data from our view.

I predict that they'll remove the New Vs returning visitor stats on the same security basis. After all you would not want a web site owner knowing you came back to their website. That'd be a massive infringement of their right to privacy!

The campaigns came in a day or so after your response.

I'm guessing that you deleted a whole site without 301'ing.

What is the base URL? (myDomain.com)?

There is a chance that you could use an .HTACCESS file with some redirect rules to send whole batches to a new domain but these are all guesses without further detail from you.

Take a look at StudioPress.com (Wordpress Theses) - They have some excellent tutorials and help and have created the Genesis Framework and a whole load of professional designs that are easy to configure to your needs.

They have also created a set of free plug ins that make altering the detail of the designs easy. Like "Simple Edits" which allows you to change the footer section / copyright notice.

I've been using these for about a year and find them super easy to use.

It kinda depends on where the search is starting and where you want the users to end up.

Getting your 301 redirect to sort out where the user should be (product1 , 2 or 3) may well be possible. Is that what you actually want?

From the question I am assuming that you want to move the 3 product page (single page) to multiple 1 product pages.

If this is the way you want it to be there could be a way to create a 301 redirect to push url/anchor to the correct page.

Are you now duplicating the content in your 3 product page and the individual pages?

I guess there are updates happening all of the time with Google algorithms where they're always trying to improve the quality of results.

So my questions to you are:

Are you sure that you've not been doing what google might consider "naughty tactics"?

Have you had anything flagged in your Webmaster Tools account?

How far down the listings dod you drop and how are the competitors ranking. Are there any similarities between your site and the main competitors. IE if they didn't suffer, what are you doing differently?

I know it's not really an answer for you but some food for thought that I hiope helps.

Hi,

Place your wordpress install into a subdirectory like "YourDomain.com/wp/.

Develop your site

Move the WP site to the Root. Follow the instruction on http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress.

There can sometimes be issues with the image and media uploads but checking on the General Settings for the media Library pointer usually fixes that.

I build Wordpress Sites like this all the time.

I'm no expert on this but I think you'll be fine IF you:

1 - 302 redirect (temporary redirect) to the non-www page

2 - Add a rel canonical on the non-www page giving the WWW version link credit.

When you've fixed your tech issues remove the 302 redirect.

I THINK google will play nice on this.

Try using ScreamingFrog (app for mac and pc). It's free and will crawl your site and list all the errors an dresponse codes 9inc 404s) you can export these as a CSV file.

I would go for a separate domain but try buying an aged domain that's clean with some existing back links. Failing that a new domain with keywords in the domain. Yea it still works!
