I don't see why that would have any negative effect whatsoever, but at the same time it shouldn't be very difficult to change the image source to the actual url instead of the server's ip address.

RE: Does 301 vs 302 matter when dealing with "social signal"?
It's hard to understand exactly what you're asking but I'll try to answer anyways.
A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect and passes link juice.
A 302 redirect is a temporary redirect and does not pass link juice.
There are very few situations where you would use a 302 redirect instead of a 301 redirect. I've never advised anyone to use a 302.
Unless you're doing something manipulative I highly doubt you would be penalized for using a 301 redirect. Note that Bitly uses 301 redirects.
Here's a great Moz resource to check out on the topic of redirects.

RE: Retargeting and Display Advertising - Moz data
Remarketing should have no benefit to rankings whatsoever. Remarketing ads are loaded via javascript, are generally in iframes with nofollow and they go through a redirect chain before leading to the website. This means that they aren't actual links that Google sees or counts for SEO benefit.
They may be using some sort of blackhat method to gain links that fast, but remarketing is not that method.

RE: Some Websites Always Rank High?
Yes, websites with higher authority will rank higher for everything and generally will rank faster for new articles/pages. Sites with higher authority are known to provide good content so Google rewards them with higher rankings. They can be outranked with better content and links but they are given an initial boost.
Also higher authority sites are generally crawled more often, which is why they're pages will generally start showing up in search results faster than lower authority sites.

RE: Remove unwanted web pages
Obviously any rankings for the pages that you are getting rid of would be negatively affected because you are removing the pages, but the 301 redirects will pass along value from any links pointing to the removed pages, which may have positive ranking effects on the main content pages.

RE: Big page of clients - links to individual client pages with light content - not sure if canonical or no-follow - HELP
I definitely wouldn't canonical them because as far as I can tell the content on the individual client pages is unique.
Honestly I don't see why you're worried. The pages all have unique content and contain no external links. If the main client page contained direct links to the clients' sites then I could see their being an issue but you shouldn't have to nofollow internal links.

RE: Is hotvsnot penalized?
Not really an answer to the question but I just googled "hot vs not" in incognito and this page is the second to last result on the first page, which is mildly interesting.

RE: Competitor outranking me on google with their yelp, facebook and youtube pages
This is a strategy called "Barnacle SEO." Essentially you optimize and build links to high end business profiles like yelp because they are more likely to rank due to their high domain authority.
Here's the most recent post I could find on it: http://searchengineland.com/barnacle-seo-making-big-comeback-local-187253
The competitor you're talking about has a higher domain authority which already gives him a decent head start, but it's good that you're still outranking his website. What I see that's definitely helping him is that he optimized his listings for the city you're trying to rank in. He has more reviews than you and he has tons more facebook likes. He also has his Yelp linked to from his facebook and he links back to his yelp profile from his website.
Also, to answer your last question, part of the reason these are ranking is definitely because their is fairly low competition in the space.

RE: How to deal with number swaps for organic results?
You need to look at the actual render of the webpage and see what number it's rendering.
I believe that getgoaliath.com script that it is blocking is the number swapping javascript so I would imagine that you should be fine.
I've never used if by phone but I've heard good things. I think you're most likely good to go.

RE: Is it bad to include google Maps in footer?
I don't see any issue with this at all. This sounds like it's beneficial to the user and not spammy, so I don't see it causing any problems.

RE: Should I disallow links from m.biz?
It definitely looks pretty spammy to me. I would probably disavow the domain but it is definitely possible that it could affect your rankings if it has that many links with a ~50 domain authority.
It may be helping you now but I could see it coming back to bite you later.

RE: "Items 1 - 24 of 75" Appearing in Meta Description - How Do I Remove It?
I want to clarify something that I think would help to better answer the question. Is this showing in the meta description in the source code on the pages or is it just showing up in Google's search results?
If it's in the source code then you obviously can change it, although it may be somewhat difficult depending on the cms.
If it's only in search results and not in the source code then it's going to be a lot more difficult to get rid of. This is something that Google is detecting on your site and automatically displaying because it think that it's beneficial to searchers.

RE: Repetition in Title Tag and Description
I would imagine that because Chevrolet is part of the brand name that it shouldn't cause any issues but using Chevy might be more beneficial anyways.
Also if I recall correctly from when I did keyword research for a Chevy dealership/parts seller, Chevy was actually searched just as often if not more often than Chevrolet. Obviously that's subject to location though.

RE: Is it stil a rule that Google will only index pages up to three tiers deep? Or has this changed?
That's still a good rule of thumb. The easier it is to get to, the more likely that Google will index and rank the page.
In Rand's Visual Guide to Keyword Targeting and On-Page Optimization he suggests that a well optimized page should be reachable in no more than 4 clicks from any other page on the site. I would assume that means that a well optimized page should be within 3 clicks of the homepage.

RE: How to deal with number swaps for organic results?
I would say that it most likely won't have any negative effect but the best practice is to only use call swapping via an images for local seo.
If you're curious you can see what phone number google-bot sees by using the new fetch and render option in webmaster tools under crawl.
If you want to use call tracking via changing text on the page I would suggest setting it up to only swap out numbers for paid searchers. I don't know if this is a standard option for most call tracking providers but I use CallRail and I know that they allow you to set it up that way.

RE: Facebook have moved my page likes to another page
Can you link the Facebook page that they have transferred them to?
To my knowledge Facebook will only consolidate pages that are duplicates of each other, if it is a competitor that they transferred then this is a massive error on their part. Generally merging pages requires you to be an admin on both pages, so I'm not sure how they manages this. It seems like your competitor must have convinced Facebook that your page was a duplicate of yours. I imagine that contacting Facebook will be a pain but that's the only way you will be able to get this reverted.
I'm sorry this happened. It sounds extremely frustrating. Good luck with getting this fixed!

RE: Is there a tool to see all redirects?
The best tool that I know of that would do that would be the redirects tab under links in Ahrefs. If that's not showing you what you want, then I'm not confident that you will find another tool that will.
A chrome extension that could be somewhat helpful to follow redirect paths and see what types of redirects are being used is: Redirect Path
P.S. Thanks for asking this question because it helped me to realize that my site's .htaccess file somehow got deleted recently and my 301 redirects weren't working.

RE: Website ranking low, despite higher Moz Trust, Moz Rank, Links, etc. etc.
This also needs to be redirected. http://precision-greens.com/index.php to http://precision-greens.com/
I'm not seeing any other major issues.

RE: Website ranking low, despite higher Moz Trust, Moz Rank, Links, etc. etc.
This is the error I'm seeing on the homepage.

RE: Website ranking low, despite higher Moz Trust, Moz Rank, Links, etc. etc.
I haven't gotten to take a good look yet but the site is showing a php error at the top of the page that you probably should know about.
