Dates in the blog posts - on, off or regularly updated
Completely agree with Rob! Doesn't matter in any way usually if you keep or remove it. Even as a publisher ourselves we tested it and what we mostly noticed is that almost nobody cares ;).

Best practice for Wordpress /page/2/
Thanks. That is a good idea and we are already doing it. Moz scan gave us plenty of warnings of duplicate content so I fixed it.

Adword San Francisco Reach number
Hey SirMax, AdWords reach numbers have been known to be a little wonky, for another good example of this look no further than Central Park, NY (Zip code 10024, AdWords Criteria ID #9004077) which says the reach is 10MM, but we need to realize that there is much more than just census data factoring into this number. Google also uses: Number of accounts used per person Number of temporary visitors to a geographic location. Length of time each person spends on a website. Number of signed-in users. (Full Documentation) So using the above + census data is how Google came to the 7,220,000 number. It's also important to realize & remember that positive location targeting has 3 options: People in my targeted location People searching for or viewing pages about my location People in, searching for, or viewing pages about my targeted location (Default) Remember these and use them to more accurately target your campaigns. TL;DR: I wouldn't sweat the size of your 'reach' number. Monitor the campaign, specifically on the Campaign>Settings>Locations>View location reports>Where your users were (user locations). This will give you a feel for whether your targeting settings are where they need to be. Hope that helps, let me know if you need any additional information on this one. Trenton

Is it worth disvowing scrappers' links?
I'm going to respectfully disagree with the answers already given. I ignore these links and do not disavow them. Every site has them. The point of the disavow file is to tell Google not to count links that you have personally made for SEO purposes. You didn't make these links and I don't believe that Google wants you to disavow them. There's no harm in doing so but personally I ignore them.

Redirecting domain to the main domain (hosting cost?)
The domain that I want to forward is registered at 1and1. They have an option to forward the domain through DNS settings. Will that option allow me to keep the PR juice that have accumulated for this domain. It is/was PR4 site.

Guest Blog Posting : Is that all it is made out to be?
There's so much that's dependent on context. For example if you're a design agency and you want to get guest post links from other design sites then it's pretty easy to put together a roundup of "Top 35 Most Beautiful Examples of X" that will get published by a lot of medium weight sites and be worth the two hours you spend putting it together. On the other hand if you want to be featured on powerful sites that are going to drive referring visitors and boost your brand reputation then you're going to have to put more effort in. I would say that guest posts are good for monthly reports - they give you guaranteed links. If in doubt you could always dip your toe in the water and outsource. There are plenty of people who will gladly do guest posting for you and it's pretty cheap (sub $100 per link if memory serves).

Proper way to change keywords without losing ranking
Hi SirMax, Nice to see you here today. For starters, it's important to remember that local rank is founded not on the concept of where you serve, but where you are physically located. From your description, I'm not totally sure whether your client is planing on opening new offices in new cities or whether his service area radius is simply expanding to include other cities to which he will travel from his physical office to render services. I'm also not certain whether your client has a physical location in City A and City B, but I think you are saying he only has one in city A. If I'm mistaken, please let me know, but for the moment, let's say City A is your client's core local term because it is where he is located, and all other geo terms (cities B, C, D, E, F, etc) are his secondary terms. In such cases, this is what I do for my clients: City A is in the tags, headers and copy of the homepage and contact page and, possibly, about us. The complete NAP (name, address, phone number) is in the footer sitewide) Cities B-F are mentioned once on the homepage, as in, 'From our location in San Francisco, we come to you speedily in Berkeley, Oakland, San Jose and Mill Valley'. In the navigation, I structure a menu containing landing pages for each of the cities the client serves, including his city of location. The menu links to these landing pages and the pages feature copy that is unique. Landing pages like these are a great place to showcase real projects in each of the cities (i.e. here is Mrs. Jones' carpet in the Sunset District of San Francisco before and after we cleaned it and and here is a testimonial from Mrs. Jones and here is a video of us using our new truck mounted steam cleaner, etc.). Don't just copy and paste the text from one city landing page to another - make it unique. But remember, your exterior local properties (Google+ Local Page, Bing Local Page, Yelp Profile, etc.) are all going to focus on city A, because that's where you are located. I have seen this method work well for my clients. Now, your concern is that you have already optimized core pages for 2 cities instead of just the city of location and, apparently, your work has engendered high rankings for both the location and service city. If the client is only physically located in City A and you've manage to get him ranking for City B as well, removing city B from his core pages (home, contact, etc.) could well cause a ranking drop for city B. But, if the client has offices in both cities, you can continue to optimize for both on the core pages (this is just fine) and create the city landing page to feature his work in cities C--E in which he is not located. Hope this explanation makes sense, but please let me know if I've misunderstood your client's business model or if you have further questions.

How to setup campaign
Since you say you have no other subdomains on the site you want to include in the campaign, you will want to specify the www version. The non-www version could be showing different stats for a number of reasons. Perhaps the SEOMoz crawler first crawled it before the redirect was put in place? Those kinds of updates aren't' instantaneous and not really anything to worry about. You'll likely find they eventually even out. Just make certain that the htaccess redirect is working as expected and is using a 301 not a 302. (use a header checker to be certain) Paul

What Google considers to be a branded keyword?
We're really talking about 2 separate definitions of "brand" 1. Within SEOmoz or Google Analytics, a branded keyword is simply one that relates to your company name or website, This makes it easier to segment who is searching specifically for you, and who is finding you through more broad, generic terms. SEOs see different value in branded and non-branded search. For example, the type of visitor on this site who searched for "SEOmoz" is likely very different than the type of visitor who arrived her after searching for "SEO tools" Also, you tend to rank very well for your own brand, so branded keyword volume can be an indication of your overall marketing efforts. 2. But to Google, brand means something slightly different. A "brand" in Google's eye means a thing. If enough people search for your website, or product, you become an entity. Bill Slawski explains it better than I ever could: http://www.seobythesea.com/2012/01/named-entity-detection-in-queries/ and if patent talk isn't your thing, Rand makes it a little more accessible in this Whiteboard Friday: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/search-engines-and-brand-entities-whiteboard-friday Hope this helps. Best of luck with your SEO!

I am still confused about anchor text and penalties
One nice thing about the Penguin update is that we don't need to be quite so concerned with anchor text. I would say focus more on getting links from high-authority, trusted websites and less on the anchor text. Getting keyword-rich anchor text links from time to time won't hurt - and if you're using natural link building methods, you'll probably be fine having them - the important thing is that your ratio of keyword-rich anchor text links to regular anchor text likes (like "click here") is similar to that of other sites in your niche. It's when it's ALL your links or a vast majority of your links that it starts to look suspicious.

How can authority of the page be higher then authority of the domain?
SirMax, Domains don't rank. Only pages rank. The front page of a site is not a domain, it is a page and it ranks on its merits.. If the domain is strong, (the combination of many strong pages), its pages will benefit from the domain strength, so if you add new pages, those pages will benefit, if if no other sites link to it. There are caveats - you could have a strong domain, but there could be problems that prevent the pages from ranking - panda and other duplication are such problems.

Long page - good or bad?
These short articles are a great resource. If this was my site I would place each article on a separate page. I would also find at least one image to display with it (a photo or graphic) - and write a generous caption to appear under that image. This makes the article page a little more substantive. The value of these pages in my opinion is the potential links that they will attract. I would also create a side menu that has links to the other short articles. I would also look for opportunities to link to them with in the text of other articles. Also, if these articles are getting a lot of bounces I would ask myself if they should be more substantive. Lots of people think that 300 words or 500 words is fantastic for an article... but to my standards that is skimpy. My goal would be to make each of these articles a best-on-the-web resource for that topic. That is how links are earned.

Competitive Link finder tool
Its not really an inconsistency from what I can see. If it is we need more info I think. URL specifics or what links you are seeing, etc.. Pertaining to your Google metrics question: Our metrics provided by Linkscape are completely different than Google's data. Especially PR (PageRank), which isn't really used too much anymore or relevant. Another thing to keep in mind is that this is a lab's tool and isn't really going to be supported(or even used) much.
