Hi everyone. We have had a new site up for over a year now. When I search site:sqlsentry.net the old url still shows up and while those pages are redirected to .com I'd like to get the .net URL's out of google forever. What is the best way I can go about that?

Why did my DA and Links go down?
How could I begin to research this to find out why we have less total links and a lower domain authority.
Our DA has gone down two points and our total links dropped by a few thousand. I'd like to find out why that happened but I'm just not sure where to start. Thanks!

RE: Parallax and Title Tags
I totally agree but the issue is we have sections of our site we now can't control title tag and descriptions for because we use that anchor jump menu all over the place. That was what I was trying to get to the bottom of. I did find a jquery solution for it that we may try. Thanks everyone!

Parallax and Title Tags
I've noticed an issue with our site, which uses parallax on multiple pages. Here is an example:
If you search for About SQL Sentry, you get the correct title tag and description
If you search for SQL Sentry Careers (which is on the about us page) it appears that Google has made up a title tag and description for it. Is there any way to force a separate title tag for a part of a parallax page?

RE: Is this keyword cannibalization?
Thanks everyone. I have to report on keyword progress and just noticed those things and wanted to be sure it was ok. I'm having a hard time reporting on the progress of keywords as I can only go back to August in Moz. If anyone has any other suggestions for a way to see historical progress I'm all ears. Thanks!

Is this keyword cannibalization?
I have a product page and our home page ranked for the same keyword.
On August 6th the product page was ranked #14 then plummeted to #60. On August 13th our home page was in the #2 spot (line just appears out of nowhere) and it is now in the #1 spot.
I also see the same pages appearing for some keywords ranked in multiple positions then plummeting and one coming back up. I'm having a hard time understanding how the Keyword tool in Moz is reporting exactly. Thanks!
To add to this: From Oct 8th to the 15th we jumped up from #60 to #16 for one keyword and then by Oct. 22nd are back down to #60. I have a huge spike on the 15th. Wondering if that had anything to do with any algorithm updates?

RE: Why is this url redirecting to our site?
Here is another example of content taken from our site and being used on some spammy website: http://editionsmicrobuss.com/wiki/sql-server-performance-monitor-sql-sentry-software.html
What is the point of someone doing this and is there any point to having it taken down? This is our exact content taken from our website and also some of our competitors content.

RE: Why is this url redirecting to our site?
Would the 301's from sswug be a concern? I'm more concerned about the phoenixhollo site just leading people to bad ads and looking spammy with our name attached to it.

RE: Why is this url redirecting to our site?
Is that a free thing you can do? I wish I knew what to do about these other links. It's just tons of duplicate meta descriptions and it looks very spammiy.

RE: Why is this url redirecting to our site?
One last thing to add. There are many sites using some of our content as meta descriptions (or google is) that are totally irrelevant.

RE: Why is this url redirecting to our site?
Their domain was brought up to me yesterday as we used them in the past for some marketing or we were considering it. I'm not 100% sure. I also found this site: http://www.phoenixhollo.com/fr/SQL_10.html which opens a copy of our site then opens a pop up to an ad once you click anywhere. This also seems really sketchy.

Why is this url redirecting to our site?
I was doing an audit on our site and searching for duplicate content using some different terms from each of our pages. I came across the following result:
www.sswug.org/url/32639 redirects to our website. Is that normal? There are hundreds of these url's in google all with the exact same description. I thought it was odd. Any ideas and what is the consequence of this?

RE: Anyone else see a redundant hostnames message in GA this morning?
Thanks. We made sure a 301 redirect is in place but the error is still there. It's been days now. I'm not sure what else to do.

RE: Anyone else see a redundant hostnames message in GA this morning?
I actually just work for this company and have shifted from a support role into an SEO role. I agree about less hands in the cookie jar but as you said, it doesn't always work that way

RE: Anyone else see a redundant hostnames message in GA this morning?
Unfortunately I have no way of knowing what the developers do so they could have modified it. I've asked that it be righted. Thanks!

Anyone else see a redundant hostnames message in GA this morning?
Message reads as follows:
Property sqlsentry.com is receiving data from redundant hostnames. Consider setting up a 301 redirect on your website, or make a search and replace filter that strips "www." from hostnames. Examples of redundant hostnames: sqlsentry.com, www.sqlsentry.com.
We have had our preferred domain set to www for months and I've never seen this error before today. A quick search shows others getting this as well. I did notice our 301 is no longer working so I am going to set that back and see what happens.

RE: What is Wil Reynrolds saying at 47:42 at Mozcon? Video Bundle
Thank you!!! I really enjoyed your session. Opened up a whole new way of thinking for me! Can't wait to dig into the SEER blog.

What is Wil Reynrolds saying at 47:42 at Mozcon? Video Bundle
I was watching his session and it sounds like he is saying tag crab or tag cloud? As someone who has never heard of either or anything close I would really like to know what he is talking about. Appreciate any help!

RE: Can Title Tag be seen in the page source, but not seen by search engines?
Title tags are generally placed in the head section of a website which yours is in the head tag but comes below your navigation it looks like. You could try moving it above your keywords tag. The keywords are not widely used anymore btw. Good luck!

RE: Google is not honoring my descriptions
They had switched the title months back but once I shortened the pixel width it righted itself. Thanks for the answers it is much appreciated!
