Domain authority
Yup - it should help. If you have influence over the domain, try to make sure that the page will get linked to from another page on the domain that has page authority already. There could be a danger that the page you get a link on is not naturally crawlable on that domain, and thus wouldn't naturally picked up as spiders crawl that domain. You could also try linking to it from an external source to make sure the link would pick up page authority eventually.

Setting up facebook
A few things, your site is not working when clicking on Facebook icon. It brings me to Facebook.com (i'm not logged in). Another thing, you can get direct likes from your home page by using plugins like the "Like Box" that can be found here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/. Also OSE updates every month and they will be updating at the end of this month. This will update your FB likes assuming the likes are for your URL.

Google + 1
I definitely recommend using google +1 on your website. I think it will just be more and more important as your business grows especially for local search. I think as more and more people use it we will see a bigger impact in the organic rankings for those who have a lot of +'s. Certain markets may be more apt to certain social sites. I think google plus has a larger user base in the computer/techie community verses your average person although they are pushing it on a lot of their gmail users. I'd say put it all out there and see what works best.

Yahoo directory inclusion
Just make sure you have a nice site that's updated. If you are talking about www.shiftins.com, then it looks okay to me. Make sure there are no 404s or anything like that. BTW, I think BBB is better than Yahoo Directory since BBB gives more credibility. Get both if you can afford it.

Web master tools
To add to that ahrefs.com is another service that has a pretty good sized database, but is of course not 'all of the internet' either.

Keyword tool
In addition to Google's Keyword Tool, the recently launched Contextual Targeting Tool in AdWords is great for finding related searches. You will have to have to sign in to AdWords to access it. Well worth it, I've read that it runs on the same engine that fueled Wonder Wheel.

Branded vs non branded keyword question
Recently Google has been taking a closer look at anchor text, because exact keyword anchor text isn't really how "natural" links (i.e. links you didn't build) look. Ben has a great point that natural link growth usually means anchor text that is either your brand name or your URL. Rob Kerry recently did a Whiteboard Friday on the Penguin update that may shed some more light on your predicament: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-penguin-update-whiteboard-friday A majority of your inbound links should not have exact keyword match anchor text. Instead, focus more on building overall link volume, both for your domain and individual pages. Try to get links from high-authority sites, and create pieces of content that people want to share and link to - these are link building strategies that will be more successful than a hyper-focus on anchor text, whether branded, keyword or "click here." I think the steps Ben outlines above are a great start.

SEO companies
Well some of my link profile has this work done already. Would it be a bad idea to add a little bit more then focus on building high quality links? I mean the worst that could happen is all of the spammy links would be devalued right?

Mobile blog creating duplicate title and content issues
Just make sure you have the rel="alternate" with the canonical tags implemented to be 100% sure Google understands that your mobile version is in fact .. your mobile version It dosen't make sense to change since it's the same page but aiming for a different platform. maybe in this case roger is in denial and he made a mistake it dosen't mean that you don't have the site optimized if you see that duplicate title notice / error.
